This is a 1) Problem, that calls for a 2) Solution.

Maybe if they just integrate everything into a general digital id/pass that includes vaxx/medical info, personal identification, banking, digital ticketing for track and trace purposes etc..

Wouldn't that be cool, convenient and keep us all safe? They'd never suggest that, would they?

    🙄

Don't be silly. The top brass in RTE don't work bank holidays or mid-terms.

"Well, yeah, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man"

Well when he's coming back through Dublin Airport again. I'd say they'll strip search him and be thorough!

Was there any address thw nation or press conference today that MM usually does when easing some restrictions. I haven't been following RTE or virgin media to know?

Well in he was right on that occassion and he'll be right again, I'm hearing stories from my nephew above in Dublin that things are chaotic above there tonight with the crowds in late bars and the night clubs/disco bars, the next week to two weeks will tell it all with the spike in covid numbers

What do people expect? Young people that have been locked down for 18 months to stay at home and be in bed by 11? It's great to see people out enjoying themselves. Life is for living.

Just stop testing healthy people, ffs. Feel sick, stay at home. Talking about "case numbers" is a joke. Feeds their justification for keeping the whole thing going.

Covid, the flu, other viruses... There'll always be "cases". Why are we so obsessed with "Covid cases"? Add on to that the PCR false positives.

I'm much more concerned with cancer cases. You know, the disease that *actually* might kill most people. That disease they cancelled screenings for, incase, heaven forbid, someone might catch Covid 🙄

We need to stop talking about Covid cases. More talk about definitive end dates for this nonsense. Otherwise, we'll be here next year talking about the latest "cases" for those vaccinated people going to the nightclub with their digitial tickets and "green passes".

What has happened to the mindset of some people in this country? "The Fighting Irish"? More like The Frightened Irish.

Believe me, I had a cousin died from covid earlier this year, a man only in his fifties with teenage college going kids, you don;t want to be in that trauma of what that family are going through just to have a good night out in the pub/night club

I hope you don't bring home a cold or the flu to your family next time you walk out the door. Wishing you all the best with that.

So everyone should stop going out? Life is not without risk. RIP to your cousin, but the median age of Covid deaths is 83, the majority of which had underlying conditions (CSO data).

Life is for living, not to avoiding living in the tiny chance something bad might happen.

What do you suggest? Locking him up for the forseeable future? He could bring covid back from the shop, anyone could. Best not to go anywhere

This Government will in my opinion, reintroduce restrictions by November/Early December. Varadkar wasn't totally confident that they wouldn't when asked in Limerick or Clare Yesterday. People on here brand you a conspiracy theorist for that opinion, but just wait and see.

lots of people have had someone die of covid. Myself inckuded. But the grief and Trauma is the same as any other death. People die. They die of the cold. They die of covid. They die in their sleep for no reason at all. People die. I refuse to stop living just to stop people dieing.

He can introduce whatever he want's, people will not take any heed at this stage, majority of people are through with nonsense restrictions. Close pubs/nightclubs ? House parties etc.. how out of touch is this Gov? fookin gimps!

Sorry for the loss of your cousin but people die,We have vaccines now, what do you propose? Everyone stay locked up at home for the rest of their lives? I presume you lectured your nephew before he went out so last night and reminded him how yere cousin died and the risk he was taking. Shame on you for putting guilt like that on the young generation of this country.

They have sacrificed their lives for the last 18 months and people are still vilifying them for wanting to live a normal life. Covid has really shown up some people in this country for their selfish attitudes

going By the extremely serious situation in the hospitals, I don’t think the clubs will be open for very long - too risky

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 389 ✭✭Vaccinated30

100% agree. Lockdown forever merchants. Stop the spread of a viral infection that will forever spread amongst us. We are vaxxed if we want to be. If people arent vaxxed then its their problem not the rest of us. If people die well RIP but people die. And apart from my own friends and family, I dont really care about people dieing, from any illness. I mean, apart from thinking Oh thats sad, thoughts are with their families etc i then carry on as normal and everyone else does too. Nobody actually cares.

You need a Covid cert to get into a club. What more do you want? If not now, when? 93% of adults are vaccinated and we still have people shouting for restrictions and lockdowns on other people. Just stay at home in your bedroom if you're that concerned and let other people get on with their lives. Closet authoritarians are loving Covid.

Will closing clubs suddenly magic up more ICU beds?

If not, then it serves no purpose at this stage other than using restrictions to protect the failings of HSE management. Is that the road you are happy to go down?

March 2020 called and is looking for you back. We've free vaccines for the the majority of our population now, the most at risk are being offered boosters. These sort of snide remarks, packaged up as concern need to stop.

Do you also tell family members of those that have died in car accidents not to travel by car because they could have a crash themselves.

Could someone please explain why on RTE new last night they show 89.9% of the population over 12 fully vaccinated, when all we hear generally is 93%, I've noticed the percentage shown over the past few months on news bulletins, not just RTE are a number of percentage points less than general interpretations. I could understand variations re first dose, second dose etc over previous months but the percentage being quoted now if for fully vaccinated.

What am I missing or do I need an extra weetabix this morning 😏

Edit, just checked it was actually 89.4% fully vaccinated reported

Is maith an scáthán súil charad.
