Good man Journal reporter for asking about Sputnik.

Sputnik costs less than $10 a shot, 2 shots $20, enough for the entire population would cost less than €100 million which is pocket change in the scheme of things, the economy is losing more than this per day. We should have an order in now while it's awaiting approval.

I just think of Ross from Friends dressed up :o:P

Why can't they just lay out a god damned plan. If we are at x by y date, z happens. Then if we are better 4 weeks after that, this happens.

Is it really so ****ing hard to give the people some idea of what they are planning?

    **** sake

Cant give a plan if they don't have a plan.

Likely to be the week after next unfortunately, with leaks probably from the end of next week.

Guy from the journal just asked this question.
(Stephenmjcd and a few others had already addressed it multiple times in the vaccinations thread.)
    Briefing Answer:
EMA Rolling review is under way but at an early stage. If vaccination is approved it will be to up to government and the procurement bodies to obtain supply.
There is no reason to go outside the EMA as it would require substantial resources.

This sounds all very logical. I suppose printing funny money and giving it to people for jam is better than investing in the capability to fight this thing off for the foreseeable.

I can easily envisage a situation where we are celebrating the majority of people vaccinated when another variant emerges that requires another "booster shot"

If we are slow this time around we'll be well behind come the next.

Tell the future? sure they have been saying things won’t happen months in advance. It’s simple they don’t have a plan

Again, because they have stockpiles just waiting on orders?

They can lay out a plan, a few key targets and milestones to meet. If not met things remain, if met then this happens etc etc. It gives hope and something to work towards.

The way it currently is being handled is making things far worse. Already seeing massive amounts of non compliance.

Thats not people's fault. It's the poor messaging from the Govt. They have royally ****ed up the communication part. Human behavior will correlate with that.

Exactly, Boris Johnson (who I usually think is a bellend) has rolled out a complete plan of when everything will open should various conditions and targets be met, we have absolutely nothing.

Alan Kelly becoming a rational figure in all of this, on Six One repeatedly criticising the lack of urgency in Government chasing up vaccine procurement. Need more dissenting voices to challenge the status quo, as the narrative in the media has been overly fawning of NPHET and the government.

Boris Johnson is the Prime Minister.

Ronan Glynn is not the Taoiseach.

Whatever you can say about how the UK have handled this, Boris and his CMO have worked together on it and they’ve taken flack together and boasted about wins together.

The government here has no interest in working with NPHET and would rather let them take all the flack.

It’s complete gaslighting from this government and it’s shameful.

No doubt nobody is listening to Glynn here.

All this ‘just give us a plan’ reminds me of last May. As soon as a plan was published the exact same posters who ‘only want a plan’ were on complaining that the plan was too slow and that (insert something the poster likes doing here) could ‘easily’ be opened earlier.

It will be the same this time no doubt.

So the delay in getting it back up and running isn't what was spouted on here after all . Who'd have thought ?

It was to get paperwork in order to avoid litigation

Honestly unless desperate who would take the AZ vaccine at this stage

Has anyone ever asked themselves the question as to why Russian diplomats are going around the world offering everyone vaccines, when in Russia itself they have administered less than 50% of the vaccines per 100k that the eu has.

It’s almost as if it’s a coordinated campaign to spread misinformation and sow discord

There's no discussion when some literally can't fathom a criticism of our health advisory overlords.

Saying Ronan Glynn wants the spotlight isn’t criticism or opinion. It’s bullsh*t.

It is interesting that Russia has only 5.42 per 100 vaccinated while we have 12.57.

It is 100% the reason that Ireland isn’t running after it. Ireland is a US ally and they won’t want to upset Joe in the White House after him calling Putin a ‘killer’ recently.
