Superb display throughout the field. Confidence returned visibly to the team as the game progressed. Aidan Walsh made an immense nuisance of himself and created chaos where Lmk normally set up their attacks. Lehane getting injured in hindsight was a lucky break as Alan Cadogan’s return lifted Cork team and supporters. It is great that we now have selection options in every line of the field.
Mgt were typically slow to make the hard calls but the half time withdrawal of Sean O Donoghue was the right move yesterday.

Please, please no. Aidan Walsh should not be anywhere near the hurling panel.
like I said earlier if Aidan Walsh is the standard for cork senior hurling they will never win an All Ireland again. Please just go away Aidan you are well past it and not at the standard required.

It’d be a sad indictment of Cork hurling when you see Limerick bringing through the likes of Kyle Hayes and Cian Lynch and we’re going back to Aidan Walsh and Pa Cronin.
    Amprodude wrote: »
It's poor if Cork havent got any better hurlers than Aidan Walsh at their disposal.
    Amprodude wrote: »
so you are telling me Aidan Walsh is Cork hurlings future? thats fine but dont expect Cork to be winning any All Irelands with him on the panel.
    Amprodude wrote: »
Aidan Walsh isn't county standard . When I heard these two were being brought back I said that's it Cork hurling is finished. Cork GAA is in an awful state. You can mark my words.
Aidan Walsh gone from the football panel. cue the usual talk of him joining the hurlers. his time has passed, talk about unfulfilled potential
    Amprodude wrote: »
Its a disgrace that Aidan Walsh is going to be selected on the cork hurling panel next year by Meyler. We need county standard players and Walshs hurling certainly isn't that. Walsh does not even come close to be good enough for selection. If Cork are serious about winning an All Ireland in hurling the right players need to be brought into the panel now. I don't have any confidence in Meyler completing this task after this decision.
Aidan Walsh at full forward is utter madness.
    Amprodude wrote: »
Now that's Cork hurling for you. We won't within an a$$es roar of an All Ireland this year. I told ye all here that if we are depending on Aidan Walsh to deliver the goods for us then we are goosed and today says it all.

When Aidan Walsh is the sub ya bring on up front to try save the game, theres something wrong.

HAHA!!!! Gob****es. AW was the winning of the game yesterday. When was the last time you saw a Cork side lorry high ball down on its fullforwardline throughout a match?Limerick fullbackline were lost under the high ball.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,863 ✭✭✭Pogue eile

and yet you blame the ref!:D

Do you struggle with reading or are you intentionally being obtuse?
Last year was last year.Limerick won the all Ireland. They deserved the all Ireland end of story. We haven't heard the last of them yet.But i felt that we were ready to prove a point today, and we did.And this is one in the eye for Anthony Daly.He was talking during the week in the examiner, stirring the pot about supposed trouble in the Cork camp, and that Limerick would beat us and end our season.Well Anthony Daly got his answer today. When will people learn, that you can never write off Cork.;)

There were plenty of Cork people saying the exact same thing, Daly is paid to give his opinion and did exactly that, this faux outrage is a bit boring!

How did the minors play? Did they deserve to draw?

    I enjoyed yesterday.

Yesterday we showed a lot of steal. Lot of players stood up when counted.

Huge result and if we beat Waterford hopefully be in good position. In ideal world winning Munster should be everything, but I love get 3rd and just play away and get few wins under belt.

But let's just win next match first. Plenty of hurling to be done

Looking to buy tickets for Cork V Waterford, north stand and lower stand showing as available but not great options seat wise. Think I will handg on to see if I can get nearer half way line (ones showing now are near the goals). Would you buy north or south? I'v only been in the north for since it opened

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,056 ✭✭✭zetecescort

season tickets are in the North AFAIK so the centre sections wont go on sale

Wonder did the management target him for this game, totally discomoded Limericks plans, long ball flying in over their much vaunted half back line.

As a Tipp man I thought Bill Cooper was a huge loss for ye against us, but were Cork much sharper yesterday? A week ago they looked lethargic, and non aggressive, the Tipp half backs in particular tore forward with balls unchallenged.

When the news went around the Pairc that Cooper was out, I knew it was going to be bad for us. He's huge for us. I think we were sharper alright, our first touch vs Tipp was shocking all round. We were much more aggressive in the tackle, hooking/blocking vs Lim.

I find the North better. Once you go 15 rows or higher I think the view is great from all parts. So try go roughly letter P or more and you’d be fine
And if you can get a Section between 403 - 408 it’s decent

Interesting article about Camogie and the rules they use. Paudie Murray says in it that the refs confuse the rules with Hurling rules. The consistency of the refs from the games I see on TV is terrible. Some are better than others. The ladies deserve better.

    https://www.southernstar.ie/sport/roundup/articles/2019/05/21/4174235-murray-feels-that-camogie-will-eventually-adopt-hurling-rules/

Incidentally the mens game against Tipp last Sunday, was the first time Eoin and Alan Cadogan lined out together in a Cork Jersey!

Would I be right in saying that if cork beat Waterford and finish on 4 points and limerick lose one of there last 3 that it would be enough for cork to get through ?

  • Registered Users Posts: 81 ✭✭westcork67

If Cork and Limerick finish on 4 points in third place then Cork go through based on the following:

"In the event of teams finishing on equal points in the groups, the tie shall decided by the following means and in this order:

Where two teams are tied, the outcome of the meeting of the two teams in the group
    Score difference
    Highest total score for
    Highest total goals for
    A play-off"

Not sure what happens in a 3-way tie - presume score difference etc

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,141 ✭✭✭big_drive

Is it best from a Cork point of view so if Tipp win all their games and finish top?

Then if Cork win both final games they have to get second?

So it would come down to clare/limerick head to head for 3rd place

Its still hard enough to predict much at this stage, things won't be clear really until after the third round of games

Yes, same sequence as above but no head to head

The evening sun is also a lot less harsh from the north stand. Nothing like the sun in your eyes to ruin a game of hurling for you

3-19 to 0-3. Really thought Waterford would be better after winning Div 2 a few weeks ago
