Clare wont do much on that performance

I think we should focus on our own game against Waterford. Do our own business and things will work out. Cliche I know but its true!

The match against Waterford will be on Sky Sports Arena next Saturday night in case anyone didn't know

Fair point. If we can’t beat Waterford and Clare we dont deserve to be going on.

It might not be as Clear cut as turning up next week. Theres bound to be one performance in Waterford this year. Clare could put it up to Limerick but it's hard to see them staying the distance with Limerick.

According to Jackie Tyrell on TV today Cork won't make it out of Munster this year.

Love it when the 'experts' write us off.

This is exactly what we should be looking for. We're much better off as the underdog.

I'd love to wipe the smirk off Pat Spillanes face by beating Kerry but it would be great to have the game competitive at least

If we're within 5/6 points at the end I'll be happy.

Yeah, one game away from the super 8s then I think

Cork footballers looked impressive last night.. If they could just play competitively against Kerry and not get destroyed I think most of us would accept.

You have two points guaranteed against us next week anyhow, we've given up the ghost. Clare you should beat too

  • Registered Users Posts: 34,051 ✭✭✭✭The_Kew_Tour

I be delighted if we get within single digits of Kerry. That's how far they have fallen

The Cork Senior Hurling team to play Waterford in the Munster Hurling Championship has been announced.

    1. Anthony Nash - Kanturk
    2. Sean O' Donoghue - Inniscarra
    3. Eoin Cadogan - Douglas
    4. Niall O' Leary - Castlelyons
    5. Robert Downey - Glen Rovers
    6. Mark Ellis - Millstreet
    7. Mark Coleman - Blarney
    8. Bill Cooper - Youghal
    9. Darragh Fitzgibbon - Charleville
    10. Daniel Kearney - Sarsfields
    11. Seamus Harnedy - St Itas (Captain)
    12. Luke Meade - Newcestown
    13. Alan Cadogan - Douglas
    14. Patrick Horgan - Glen Rovers
    15. Aidan Walsh - Kanturk
    16. Patrick Collins - Ballinhassig
    17. Conor O' Sullivan - Sarsfields
    18. Damien Cahalane - St Finbarrs
    19. Stephen McDonnell - Glen Rovers
    20. Tim O' Mahony - Newtownshandrum
    21. Christopher Joyce - Na Piarsaigh
    22. Robbie O' Flynn - Erins Own
    23. Shane Kingston - Douglas
    24. Conor Lehane - Midleton
    25. Declan Dalton - Fr O' Neills
    26. Jamie Coughlan - Newtownshandrum

Cads in for Lehane who presumably missed some of the build up with that injury from the Limerick game. I haven't seen any team announcement from Waterford yet.

I'm happy with that team, even if we are odds on to win we should be putting out our strongest team.

Don't know about O'Donoghue. He really hasn't impressed me in any game this year or even last year.

I think you're being very harsh on him there Mahony0509. I thought he did brilliant last year in his first season and apart from the drawn Munster game v limerick, I thought he played well in every game.
Even in Croke Park last year I heard some people comment how he got well beaten but I disagree - Mulcahy got a few quick fire points just before half time but was kept reasonably quiet for the rest of the 90 mins including extra time. He was caught badly for the Limerick goal this year alright but I think he has some credit in the bank and deserves the chance to redeem himself. Either way it's good that we have more options with Maccie returning and hopefully Spillane if we get out of Munster.

My strongest memory of him last year is him struggling to roll pick a ball versus Tipperary (I think). I get where you're coming from but no matter when he gets the ball, my heart sinks a little.

Just heard from a reliable source that the footballers travelled to Galway and hammered them out the door recently.

Did they play Roscommon as well ? Obviously Kerry are favourite in the munster final and they are just challenge games but I'm picking up a nice confidenc about the cork footballers.
