After being 1-13 to 0-6 down at half time that's an incredible result for Charleville

Cork beat Clare with a pen from Hoggie with basically the last puc of the game, some really good dead ball goals from Hoggie.

Nash keeping this respectable, Cork yet to get going

Hoggie was superb. Nash was superb.
But the game is all about scoring goals which is one thing Cork teams are not as good at as they should be.
Also, there was only 1 team marking in the final and it wasn't Cork.

Even though it was an exhibition game, it was evident that Cork are still making the same errors that cost them hugely in big games, particularly in the semi finals of 2017 and 2018.

    1. There is a tendency to switch off and they fail to pick up the extra runner. Overall marking, awareness and backline structure needs to improve big time.

    2. Cork did defend well in parts but their use of the ball coming out of defence was worrying. They tended to just puck it long into a crowded Limerick defence whereas Limerick worked the ball amongst themselves, were strong in retaining possesion and were patient.

    3. The two oldest guys on the team were the best players out there today. It's all about having a panel now and younger guys need to be standing up and making a name for themselves.

Anyways, I hope that the team enjoys the experience and that it results in a greater bond between them. We're so close, we just need that extra few percent to get us over the line! Rebels Abu!

Do Dromtarriffe have any hope against Beaufort of Kerry in the Junior Munster Final? Beaufort are one of best teams to come out of Kerry in a while and nobody is giving Dromtarriffe a hope. They aren't anywhere in their league but nobody ever knows what can happen. Beaufort by 7.

Kerry have dominated the junior championship in Munster for years now. 14 wins out of 17 competitions. Hard to see past them, of 3 Cork winners, 2 of them have won the All Ireland (Carbery Rangers being the exception)

Knocknagree ended that last year beating Dromid Pearses and went on to win the All Ireland in style so nothing is impossible but I think it will be a bridge too far for Dromtarrife. They will have nothing to lose all the same.

Fermoy missed a penalty too. don't think they will win this now.

    Well beaten.

Pretty much like every Cork team this year. Worst I can remember

Fermoy weren't bad but like all Cork football it is coached poorly. Football is in an awful state in the county. A kerry team will win next weekend too. Very worrying times for Cork football. what can be done?

Thoughts on the two Cork teams involved in the junior finals this weekend? I can’t see Dromtariffe replicating Knocknagrees victory from last year, could be well beaten. I’d fancy Cloughduv to get the win in a tight game in the hurling final though.

Dromtarriffe will be well beaten I feel. Beaufort are a different class. Beaufort played Dr. Crokes earlier in the year and were narrowly beaten. I reckon Beaufort will win this game in 3rd gear. 10+ points. Dromtarriffe have nothing to lose and should just give it everything because they won't get this chance again. They should go out as if there life depended on it.

Its a disgrace that Aidan Walsh is going to be selected on the cork hurling panel next year by Meyler. We need county standard players and Walshs hurling certainly isn't that. There must be politics involved in that. Walsh does not even come close to be good enough for selection. He had his chance before and he wasnt up to the task. Doesnt have the hurling. Unbelievable call by Meyler. If Cork are serious about winning an All Ireland in hurling the right players need to be brought into the panel now. I don't have any confidence in Meyler completing this task after this decision.

Walsh is a leader and a warrior, always space for that in a squad.

    How is it a disgrace?
Not as if he has just been named to start on a championship team.
Called on to the panel to train with the team and earn his place, same as the rest. Commitment levels are massive, if he makes the panel it will be because he has earned it and deserves it. Fair play to Meyler for being open to giving lads a chance and not shutting the door
