obviously it doesn't get much harder than Limerick in Limerick next weekend but we are not out of this yet. Clare got to the Munster final last year after losing to us in round 1.

Niall O'Leary one of the few positives today

It’s their first game and Tipp are much better than they were last year. Yes it will be very tough but we can win it.

Blatant trip from a tipp player and no yellow card. Very annoying

That’s it, blame the ref . The free count was 15-8 in Corks favour.

But rather than address the Cork display, take the easy option and blame the ref

  • Registered Users Posts: 282 ✭✭sasol

Horgan held going in on goal and its a free out. Baffling from this ref

You do know that charging is illegal?

He's a lovely hurler but putting Robbie O Flynn in today was not the right move tbh. It also isn't a good sign when he's the first sub to bring on as a late starter. Dalton should have started. He's a boat of a thing but O Flynn was getting bullied. He'll come on though. Cormac Murphy probably a better fit too who I think will start next time out if Cooper is ruled out. Wouldn't mind seeing Coleman giving a shout there either and bring in someone like Downey or Hennessey at 7. I think Joycey is finished tbh, never recovered after the injury and will continue to get skinned by pacey wing forwards.

Same old , same old failing us time and again past few years.

We lack real leadership and we are too ****ing soft.

Tipp were far more sharper. Very disappointed in what I thought was worst Cork performance in Championship since 2016

    What's the 'double incentive' bit.?
Winning the game to get back on track is one, what's the other.?

i don't agree with this cork have a savage first 15 , the problem for years is the bench is very light you might get away with it against us who are light enough ourselves but not tipperary especially a confidant tipp side

Revenge for last year, and sending out a statement to the champions. There's no point pretending, that it isn't a factor.I couldn't care less if we win Munster tbh.I'll take third place in the group all day long.

If Tim O’ Mahony starts against Limerick at centre back Cork will be out of the championship for 2019. We need to put him in centre forward. We have a better chance of catching Limerick cold the next day than beating Clare in Ennis.

Get beat handy next week and season is over

If two teams finish level on points is it head to head or scoring difference? Think it could come down to ourselves and Clare for the last spot.

  • Registered Users Posts: 394 ✭✭rebelyell99

Can we really improve that much in a week? . Limerick will be a bigger test physically than tipp , we will really struggle in midfield if Cooper cant play .I would move Tim Mahony up to centre / full forward ,might as well try something at this stage.

Head to head- Scoring difference if there's more than 2 teams level.

Can you explain how it was charging? Horgan arm was over his shoulder going around him, which is cute because it's a free all day as the defender can only hold you to stop. Tipp defender had his arm around Horgan's chest not even looking at hoggy or the ball. Blantant attempt at holding him.

Tipp man here so please forgive any perceived bias, but those blaming the ref are fooling themselves.

Cleere is a terrible terrible ref and anyone from Kilkenny who is being honest will tell you the same, but he was in no way the difference on Sunday, for the first 25 minutes he rode Tipp and kept Cork in the game and then in the last 15 mins decided he wanted to address the balance and all the 50/50 and even some 40/60 decisions started to go to Tipp. The free count alone will tell you that over the 70 mins Cork got more than there fair share of frees

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,034 ✭✭✭KrustyUCC

The ref wasn't the difference in the game

Tipp were the better team and overall the score flattered us

I like how Eamonn Murphy of the Echo described it "The only issue was a couple of terrible calls from the ref when Horgan and Darragh Fitzgibbon were fouled late on.Those decisions wouldn’t have changed the result but might have an impact in the final round-robin rankings if scoring difference comes in."

I'd argue Cleere changed after half time not the last 15 mins but I'm more worried about our attitude, lack of fight and ball winning going forward than any referee

anyone hazard a guess at the number of serious injuries our footballers have picked up in recent years? Sean Powter and Sam Ryan both after picking up long term hamstring injuries.
