They're a terrorist organisation in that they are tacit supporters of radical Islam and similarly, they are enemies of the Freedon Of Speech, especially when it doesnt suit their deranged communist nonsense.

Assembling in public areas whilst wearing masks should not be allowed,either...these fools are cowards who are trying to destroy a democracy they had no hand in contributing to.

Exactly, but they get a pass for some unbeknownst reason...Honestly I see antifa members in the same light as neonazis, absolute scum.

    Bit of a contradiction there.

If someone commits a crime they can be charged and punished according to the law. Banning a group because of the actions of a few is overkill and ironic if freedom of speech is your thing.
Donald Trump encouraged violence to silence dissent should the republicn party be banned?

so by that logic we shouldn't ban isis or neo-nazi groups either?

Antifa are today more likely to be sharing a platform with a CEO at a corporate sponsored event on activism than changing society.

Here's a picture of the alleged Antifa bomb claim. Not much to go on since anyone can sign up and upload to the website. Actually it doesn't make any sense at all that Antifa would write an islamist letter and leave it at the scene and then next day go claim it on some website, right wing trolls more likely

The thing about AntiFa is that they make a bit more sense in mainland European countries such as Spain and Italy than in the UK or USA, there is a rump of "classic" Fascist support existing.
I also have the impression police in Europe come down a lot harder on their stuff than they do in the UK and possibly USA.

I did find the counter right-wing march stuff in Dublin entertaining though, bunch of white Irish people attacking foreigners in the name of anti-nationalism and xenophobia

Overall though Anti-Fa aren't worth worrying about, they don't influence public opinion apart from against them, if they wanted to do something more extreme I would hazard they are riddled with police spies and ideologically they don't make much sense.
What they are useful for though is highlighting hypocrisy in relation to those who refuse to condemn their actions despite claiming opposition to violence and extremist politics

The UK and US have long well established white supremacist and nazi movements.
There isn't really much if one in Ireland because when they try to meet in public they are shut down.

Who says who and what can be shut down?

There was a (sort-of) march in Dublin for the racist group Black Lives Matter and nobody shut them down...why is that?

    More left-wing virtue signalling perhaps?

I think it's a bit different, some European countries actually had facist/military dictatorship not that long ago, a country like Italy had Mussolini's grand-daughter serving in the ruling party, tiny parties like the BNP aren't the same in the USA UK and Ireland facism was always either reacted against or ignored by the establishment.
I don't think the Irish have nothing similar because of groups being broken up, it's because if your a young ultra nationalist lad thats angry there is much more established groups to join

There were two attempts to launch extreme right wing racist groups in the last year. Both were shut down and it wasn't libertarians debating with them that did it.

Ah yeah, anti fascists, terrible stuff.

The Irish AFA have done a fine job of keeping Youth Defence and their mates in their box over the last 30 years.

The reason we don't get neo nazis like other countries is because they think we're scum, gypsies and historically worse than the Muslims it's popular to hate now. I'm assuming the teenagers on here that are on this thread that have sympathy for these lads aren't aware that if you're Irish they hate you too.

    PRIME BASTARD.
A Leader of the Left, what else would you expect! THE DISGRACED PAEDOPHILE FOUNDER OF THE FAR LEFT GROUP ANTI-FASCIST IRELAND, PATRICK CORCORAN, KNOWN AS " PAT C.", LEAVING COURT AFTER HIS CONVICTION ON CHILD PORN CHARGES.
This fellow had abused decent Irish patriotic people for years. And now the group he helped found in Ireland, AFA, that he brought over here from England, are attacking the meetings of the respectable law-abiding new Irish political party, Identity Ireland.
This is the picture of your typical Irish leftie, a member of the so-called "liberal elite" in Ireland.
Corcoran was also an editor on Indimedia.ie , the far left online media website where he slandered many decent people in the course of his duties there. He was a doyen of the Irish Left and set up a lot of their initiatives in Ireland such as the vengeful AFA gang. But since his fall his former colleagues are now openly discussing all his evil doings against a lot of people in Irish public life.
In short "Pat C", as he was known, was a prime bastard in every way. And his legacy still lives on in AFA Ireland to this day.
The Kilkenny Journal gets behind the scenes and brings you what's really going on, the facts about the movers, the truth about the shakers, and their putred skeletons in their cupboards. This is a very evil man, the groups he founded and was an activist in, like AFA Ireland, are still out there carrying out his evil.
In fact they have called a meeting for the clock tower on the Quay in Waterford City for this Saturday at 1.30 p.m. to go and disrupt a protest by the new party Identity Ireland led by that decent Irishman , the Kilkenny Dail candidate Peter O'Loughlin.
Maybe the people of Waterford will turn out and show what they think of AFA Ireland and their paedophile founder pictured here.
    WHERE IS HE NOW?
He wasn't at the Waterford meetings today although he is still a leader of the Leftist AFA Ireland. It has to be said that between him and the abuse of women by Sinn Fein it's a very poor lookout for the Left in Ireland right now. There are some very sick socialists around these days, Connolly would turn in his grave.

So you're defending the convicted paedophile,eh? This seems to be common amongst those who support Sharia law too.

Maybe you should move to another country where your views won't appear so abhorrant.

A guy was arrested for child porn. He had some involvement in left wing groups. Whats your point?

Nobody knows who that lad is. The Independent makes no mention of his supposed involvement with AFA.

If anything it reflects poorly on the civil service.

Also, what's the craic with running around calling people you don't like paedophiles? It's not a particularly smart way to win an argument.

Just out of interest, do you have any involvement with antifa personally?

Not any more really, no. I'm all for people confronting fascists, I just found Antifa to be a subculture in many cases who would rather run around and get in scraps rather involve themselves in actual processes of creating change. That's a massive generalisation but it's all a bit too "scene" for me.

I find your attitude pretty hypocritical.
You complain that Tommy Robinson is still a racist and can't possibly have changed his outlook or opinion upon leaving BNP or EDL, but yet you can now distance yourself from antifa and find them a bit too "scene".

It is this double standard shyte that really gets me with a lot of people with your viewpoint.
As with above posts it is perfectly ok to hit some on the right with an unprovoked punch because they don't agree with you.

The new left for want of a better description are really pi**ing off people in the centre and are driving more people to the right than the right could ever dream of.
Hell we are still in the centre, it is just people like you labeling us as fascists, bigots, nazis, alt right or whatever other buzzword can be dreamt up.

If anything the right will be moving to the centre what with all the former leftists and centrists joining them.

And the new left are wondering why people are voting for the likes of Brexit, Trump, etc and why the likes of Corbyn has as much chance of being PM elected as Screaming Lord Sutch.

One of the things we are interested in at the moment is the continued existence of reactionary norms such as the so called nuclear family. By drawing on the work of Wilhem Reich, who examined the idea of fascism as a symptom of sexual repression, we are taking the Reicheann approachby advocating for the early managed sexualisation of children so as to prevent the formation of any earlier fascist traits.

This is what Antifa said in an interview

Right Wing views? Is that the euphemism for Neo Nazi these days? Spenser is a Neo Nazi, he is right wing in the same way that a Stalinist is left wing, in that they have lost the plot completely.

As for the violence against him, it is of course wrong, but doesn't compare to his fellow Neo Nazi's walking into a Church, Mosque or a Gurdwara, and buthering people. The level of violence carried out by Neo Nazi's like Spenser is in order of magnitude worse, than anything done to them.

I have about as much sympathy for a Neo Nazi like Spenser, as I do for someone like Anjem Choudary, that is to say 0 sympathy.

Hmm... dressed all in black, part of a mob, opposed to free speech, activism through violence, most-likely an advocate of third position

Oh wait, that video title was talking about the guy who got assaulted, not the attacker, my bad.

To paraphrase what someone else here has said, the alt-right and far left are two cheeks of the same arse.
