    ***League of Ireland***

Taking a break from betting on the League and instead going to post pointers for people who may be backing matches in play.

    Bohemians –v- Shelbourne 7.45pm
The Oldest Dublin Derby and a big relegation 6 pointer that neither team will want to lose!
BTTS would be the bet here imo. There may be value in Shels, IF Owen Heary (defender) and Dean Delaney (Keeper) are out for Bohs, Heary is doubtful atm and Dean Delaney has his stags party this weekend (not 100% if he’s playing the match or flying out after).

    Cork City –v- Drogheda 7.45pm
Cork have been woeful at home recently, whereas Drogs haven’t been up to much lately. Cork missing a few first team players, Drogs missing a couple but should be ok. Drogheda if rball looks good, good be a decent DNB bet.

    Dundalk –v- Pats 7.45pm
Dundalk missing 2 key midfielders, Pats missing no one, huge game this one. Dundalk play on astro. BTTS could be decent in this match.

SD Galway (Salthill Devon) –v- Finn Harps 7.45pm
Both side have numerous players missing, the different is Harps have a 31 man squad whereas SD will struggle with the amount they’re missing.
Harps know they need a win to keep up to pressure, if rball is good, Harps -1 asian!

    Athlone –v- Longford 7.45pm
    Midlands derby here.
Since 2007 the teams have played 23 times in all competitions with the games producing 50 goals in total averaging just over 2 goals per game. This year both sides have some serious firepower, BTTS and Overs would be the bets in this one.

    Shamrock v Limerick
    BTTS 11/10
    Limerick goals over 0.5 5/6

Limerick didn't score last week but fancy them this week with no players missing

    Any thoughts on Bohs?

11/10 at home against the worst team in the league? Very positive result last week too

Shams/Cork/Bohs enhanced 8/1 on PP - Dunno whether based on Gavins analysis this stacks up good or not

    Gonna try a 4 fold,
Bray v Derry over 2.5 gs
    Cork v Drogs BTTS
Rovers win & over 2.5 gs in match
    Sligo -1.5 asian hc.
Odds just over 10/1 at Bet365.
    Good luck folks.

Bohs have been drifting all day, but I can't resist a home team @ 2.30 against bottom of the table side....small ish stake

Another small stake on overs double Cork/Drogs and Bray/Derry @ 2.88

Both start. Think Callaghan was at pats for the osam is doubtful era.

Aw what was I thinking betting overs on a night like this, I deserve to lose this bet.

Safe to say the bookies suckered me into Bohs there, game over.

Overs looking good in Bray but not in Cork, my own fault for backing overs with the weather like it is!

Oh well at least my HT 0-0 bet for my log came in!

Anybody have access to last season stats to see what percentage of matches finished over 2.5 goals and what percentage of matches had both teams score?

Hopefully it will save me a bit of time rather than going through each match myself.

Wish I got on Shels 7/2 midweek, value was all gone yesterday :(

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,818 ✭✭✭Bateman

As a neutral I think I would have been all over Shels at the 7/2 midweek, easy to say now I guess.

Odds were as short as 2/1 when I went to back us on Friday.

Sligo Rovers just been drawn against Molde in Champions League and Cliftonville against Celtic.

  • Registered Users Posts: 17,963 ✭✭✭✭Gavin "shels"

Sligo have a decent chance imo, if they can get back to bagging goals. Pats will hit their League slump no doubt.

Reckon so too Gavin on Molde it's one of the better draws (even for man u barstools in the town!!) as they haven't been firing this year.

Bookies still have Sligo lower odds for outright league win than some above them. Think they are expecting a slump too. Sligo just need to kick on from UCD and keep bagging goals. Although it is Shels next if I remember right!
