    ***LEAGUE OF IRELAND BETS***
2 nice medium winners with one small loser last weekend, hoping for a clean sweep this week with our 3 medium bets! Short writes ups! Write ups courtesy of myself and Graeme! All 4 of us discussed and agreed on the 3 bets!

Cork City -v- Finn Harps Friday 7:45pm
City come into this on the back of a disappointing defeat to Dundalk. It's a simply must win game in the title hunt for them. Harps have been dog sh1t in recent weeks and considering they are now pretty much safe from relegation they have nothing to play for.
6 players on the injury list for Harps at least - their manager said "Squad wise we’re really struggling for tomorrow night...With our under-19 semi-final against UCD being put back to Sunday, we will have a couple of the under-19 players in the squad."

Cork -2 Asian Handicap (GENERAL) @ 1.80 - MEDIUM STAKE

Derry City -v- Bohs Friday 7.45pm
Another ''must win'' game for a side here wih Derry needing to win to keep their euro push alive. Derry are a strong side at home having lost only two league games all season at the Brandywell. Bohs away record is of the opposite having recorded only 4 away league wins all year. Derry have pretty much a full strength side to choose from and it's a game we expect them to win.

Derry -0.5 Asian Handicap (GENERAL) @ 1.70 - MEDIUM STAKE

    Athlone -v- Cobh Saturday 7:15pm
4th placed Cobh travel to bottom placed Athlone with a win guaranteeing Cobh a play-off place regardless of the outcome of Drogheda -v- UCD.
Cobh come into the game on the back of 4 wins, including big wins against Limerick and UCD. Helpless Athlone have managed just 3 wins and 5 draws from 27 games this season - it will be a season to forget on and off the pitch for the midlands club.

    Cobh -1.75 AH (GENERAL) @ 1.80 - MEDIUM STAKE

What bet are you doing in Derry match . Does this mean your backing Derry at 7 to10to win game . Bit confused with the Asian handicap!!!

That is it indeed. But for whatever reason -0.5 AH is sometimes better odds than selecting the straight win while you need the same outcome

    ***LEAGUE OF IRELAND BETS***

3 Mediums last week which resulted in one winner, one half win and one refund! Not a great set of fixtures this week, so we've made do with the below bets.

Shamrock Rovers -v- Bray Wanderers Friday 8pm
A nothing game for the Leagues inform team Bray, with a draw being enough to secure 4th place for Rovers and European football (due to a Dundalk/Cork FAI Cup Final). This should be a free flowing goalscoring game!

8 of Brays last 9 games have been over 2.5 goals

Both Rovers and Brays games this season have been an average of 2.4 goals per game

    Over 2.5 Goals (GENERAL) @ 11/10 - MEDIUM STAKE

Derry City -v- Sligo Friday 7.45pm
Barring something major happening in the League in the closing few games, these teams look set to finish 3rd and 5th respectively. Sligo still have an outside chance of overtaking fourth-placed Shamrock Rovers as they lie five points behind with two games remaining.

Derrys home record this season reads 8 wins, 5 draws and 2 losses
Sligos away record this season reads 7 losses, 3 draws and 5 wins

Derry have scored more goals than anybody outside of the top two and they've the third best defensive record in the league. While Sligo are unbeaten in their last five league games and have achieved five clean-sheets.

The key here is that Sligo will be without several key players for the trip as both Cretaro and Keohane are suspended along with Liam Martin. Derry Citys Rory Patterson sits just 1 goal off top goalscorer so will be looking to take top position for the season!

Derry -0.5 Asian Handicap (GENERAL) @ 1.85 - SMALL STAKE

Rovers -v- Bray was a drab 0-0, while Derry came back from 1 down to win 2-1!

Will be interesting to see what sort of team Dundalk put out for the rest of their league matches.

Will be a very 2nd string team you'd imagine against Pats tomorrow, odds say that at least.

Betway Best Price Pats at 13/8, Paddy Power Best Price Dundalk 7/4.

    10 to11 pats . 11 to 4dundalk . Fairly obvious their playing reserve side

St Pats playing a few u19's aswell, so wouldnt be too sure Dundalk wont win this one.

Went for BTTS at 4/6 myself - feel like it could be an open game.

Has come in 9 times in last 10 Pats games for what it's worth.

Last round of games and with little to play for, take the bets with caution. All 4 of us discussed and agreed on the 2 bets! Short write ups!

Dundalk were a backable price when they opened at -0.5 but the handicap didn't last and has been smashed to -1.25, could be worth a bet inplay. They play away to Zenit on Thursday and then FAI Cup Final on Sunday so may be a weakened side again.

Bray -v- Cork City Friday 7:45pm
Trying again with overs in a Bray game for the second week running, last time these two sides met Cork won 4-0 - this game away shouldn't be as easy. Bray should get a goal here while Cork should win, with players fighting for an FAI Cup Final place. Sean Maguire sits 2 goals ahead as top goalscorer and will look to cement this by bagging a couple in Bray!

8 of Brays last 10 games have been over 2.5 goals
7 of Corks last 10 games have been over 2.5 goals

    Over 2.5 Goals (GENERAL) @ 17/20 - MEDIUM STAKE

Sligo Rovers -v- Wexford Friday 7.45pm
Wexford are guaranteed to be fighting it out against Drogheda or Cobh next Monday and Friday in the Relegation/Promotion playoff and it seems that their focus is solely on that and not this trip to Sligo. Word is that Wexford manage Shane Keegan will actually be in Drogheda for the Drogheda/Cobh scouting instead of the Wexford game and also that players will be rested.

Wexfords away record this season reads 11 losses, 2 draws and 2 wins.
Sligo have had a mixed season, but will progress further next season. Their home record has been solid with 7 wins, 7 draws and 2 losses.

Sligo -1.75 Asian Handicap (GENERAL) @ 1.70 - MEDIUM STAKE

St. Pats -v- Derry City Friday 7:45pm
On the back of putting 5 goals past Dundalk midweek, St. Pats host 3rd placed Derry.

6 of Pats last 9 games have been over 2.5 goals
6 of Derry last 9 games have been over 2.5 goals

    Over 2.5 Goals (GENERAL) @ 3/4 - SMALL STAKE

2 medium winners and a small loser to round off the season!

  • Registered Users Posts: 17,963 ✭✭✭✭Gavin "shels"

Gutted that the 20/1 on Cobh got hoovered up.

2 point off 2nd spot, glad it got hoovered up afterall :D
Cork City to Win the Premier Division @ 5/1 (William Hill) – MEDIUM (Each Way Top 2 1/3)

Bohs +22 Points Premier Division Season Handicap @ 9/1 (Paddy Power) – SMALL/MEDIUM

Ismahil Akinade Premier Division Top Goalscorer @ 16/1 (Paddy Power) – SMALL (Each Way Top 4 1/4)

Rory Patterson Premier Division Top Goalscorer @ 20/1 (Paddy Power) – SMALL (Each Way Top 4 1/4)

Mick Cooke - Premier Division Sack Race @ 7/1 (Paddy Power) – Novelty Bet Stake
Cork City 2nd spot again, each way money on that! :)

Bohemians drifted off and unfortunately didn't cover the +22! :o

Akinade was going well but he didn't feature in the past couple of months due to injury.

Patterson finished 2nd top goalscorer (just one behind Maguire), tasty each way money on that! :D:D

Mick Cook Sack Race won as we previously stated :D:D

Not a bad set of outrights!!
