    Posted this already might help...

    Some questions you may face...

    - Tell us what you know about the DAA

    - Tell us a little about yourself

    - Can you explain a little about the job you are applying for

    - Why do you want to work in T2

    - Can you talk about a time when you felt very proud of yourself at work

    - Tell us about the ways in which you may go out of your way to assist a passenger

    - If you saw a colleague in trouble or feeling a bit stresses, how would you help them

    - How would you deal if you saw a colleague not doing their job correctly

    - Would you feel comfortable if you had to report a colleague to a supervisor

    - Tell how you would deal with an agressive passenger

    - If a supervisor asked you to do a different task not in job discription would you do it

    - How important do you think it is to work as a team

    - If your colleagues could change one thing about you what would it be

    - How important do you think customer service should be for passengers

    - What are your weaknesses

Interestingly and perhaps another sign of 'unprofessionalism' on the part of Flexsource, the initial email that I received which thanked me for my application also displayed hundreds of other email addresses that the same email was forwarded to. I noticed that the vast majority of the addresses were most likely from Irish applicants.

Secondly, €11.50 per hour is actually a very good rate of pay in comparison to similiar positions which require the same sort of skill levels or experience and I think that there are so many Irish Nationals out there that would be delighted with almost 24k and a secure, pensionable job with promotion oppurtunities to go with it. It is also obviously very accessible to public transport for people coming from a wide area.

Secure pensionable job who told you that? Pensions will not start for at least 2 years and as far as I know positions are contract. Also €12.50 for passenger services is rubbish. Wait till your getting up at 02.45 for a 10 hour shift etc. and not paid for your breaks believe me its no walk in the park.

Cheers Puma, will deff come in handy.

Agree that 12.50 isn't great, and its a massive drop for me but I'm being made redundant in Oct, so would be perfect. Used to work for a handling agent in DUB, so know what the score is!

Working in the airport is great, its a whole other life / world to any other job.

P.s they are permanent jobs, not contract.

All the best Spyguy. I had been told they were contract and the only permenant ones would be those moving from T1.

I got the initial mail to say they got my application, I got the delay email but I still haven't been sent the online evaluation to do. Should I have gotten this by now or are they doing it all in batchs?

I'd say give them a shout, I got the online evaluation form within 45 mins.

    Right - Second interview done.

Met by someone at information desk in T1 and escorted down to T2.

VERY IMPRESSIVE inside.....absolutely fab, very bright, airy, spacious, colorful. Brought to Checkin hall, then a waiting area there, then up to the airline offices in Checkin hall where the interviews were held.

Panel consisted of 2 people, one ops manager and someone from HR.

Overall I was in the airport about 2 hours, quite a bit of waiting, but the interview lasted about an hour.

The panel were both very nice. The interview was very structured, focused on different categories, Experience, Communication skills, Customer Service, Team member skills, the usual.

There was not as many questions, it was more them asking to give examples, so have plenty prepared, but don't sound to scripted. The interview had a nice flow about it.

Have a few good questions to ask at the end, I had a few and they were fairly impressed with them.

It was tough, but that was to be expected. Take your time, breath and try to relax a little.

Elessar, let me know how you get on - Good luck !

Thanks SpyGuy! An hour  The longest interview I ever had was 15 minutes!

Can you remember any specific questions they asked?

And are those categories you mentioned the only ones they go over? I have examples for each anyway - would one for each be enough?

A mate of mine just got a call for a first round interview for one of the retail positions so don't despair just yet, they seem to be still going through the applicants.

Its hard to stay positive when people are having a second interview and I have not even heard how I done in the online assessment.

  • Registered Users Posts: 9 bikerdude

Yeh ! i know how you feel i wish someone would just give me an answer everyone is being great by saying stay posative, but it's hard when it's nearly 2 weeks and i haven't heard a thing and some people are already on the second round interviews,

Right here's the latest. I said blast this ,so i rang Flexsources head office and she rang an internal line to the swords office were it's being handled for the DAA, she told me, get this!they are going through the list going on the test results they are interviewing anyone who got over 90% first so anyone under that" us mear mortals" will have to wait just a bit longer
just wish they would just come out and say so.
So just don't give up to soon.

Fair play to you for ringing. They ought to have emailed people to let them know this. Obviously none of them have ever been unemployed, otherwise they would know how your life goes on hold to an extent whilst you wait on word

My thoughts exactly Zelda, everyday your checking your emails hopeing theres something there from flexsource and that light of hope gets dimer and dimer every time, but this gives me hope, there can't be 500 perfect people out there, so keep the faith zelda it still could happen.:)

Had my first round interview on Wednesday , all went really well and was expecting a tougher interview but to be fair it think the first round is just a filter session to see who would be suitable to put in front of the DAA panel .

Expect to hear back within 2-3 days re second round and looking forward to it , yeah 11.50 an hour is a massive drop in my past salary but its a good company to work for and lots of opportunities popping up in the future . I would love the chance to get out onto the ramp and get some ramp training

Anyway will have to wait and see what happens

Lads, you really need to remember that there was a total of 12,000 applications put in for 500 positions, there is only so much they can do.

I got my application in within 5 mins of the positions appearing online. Thats probably why I'm through the process already.

I have also worked in the airport and completed a number of airline / airport procedure courses.

So dont be stressing, I'd say it will take ages to get through / back to everyone. Remember also that the positions are not starting until Sept, Oct and Nov !

To be honest, it was very "free-flowing".

At least I think thats the best way to describe it.

It was clearly an interview, with some questions, but it was more of a conversation. They would ask things like "What are your team skills like" then Ask to give an example of when you put them to use, then they asked about the outcome etc.

No, there were more categories, cant remember them all....also cant remember the questions, sorry !

Just wondering what's the age group of people who have/haven't been called for interview?
I'm wondering with so many applications if they automatically discounted anyone over 30-35?
I feel I did ok in the online test, got the receipt email and have heard nothing since.
(I'm the wrong side of 30)

Not sour grapes btw, I just wonder if they were so swamped with applications that they applied an age filter?

And good luck to EVERYONE who applied :)

Re Age Profile , they cant discriminate against anyone over a certain age its against the law and if they were engaged in such a practice then they would be open to legal action .

At the end of the day its down to experience and how your face will fit , I have over 20 years airline experience in London and Dublin so I hope that this will stand to me , but will have to wait and see like everyone else .

I would be very surprised if a state owned company employed all 19-24 year olds like say Halfords who dont know their arse from their elbow in most customer service roles . Was in Halfords last week and had to wait 5 mins for the dip**** on the till to finish chatting to her friends on where they were going . No manager in sight or even in the store.

Terminal 2 is way too important to the DAA to staff it with young inexperienced employees , I guess they will go for a mix of both . Plus most younger staff wont be able to handle working night shifts and weekends and over Christmas

Applied to the Graduate Program ages ago, had pretty much forgotten about it, but got an email today saying to complete the online aptitude test and if successful I would be called for group screening in August. Don't lose hope yet!

Hey, I'm in the same boat as you on this. I applied for the graduate civil engineer programme. How did you find the tests? I personally thought they were quite tough. I had never done one before. I got about 2/3 of both parts done then ran out if time.

    fingers crossed......

Just had my 2nd round interview there.

It was tougher than I expected but the interviewers were lovely. I waffled on some of the questions because I couldn't think of a proper answer but what can you do. I was only in there about 30 minutes. They are interviewing non-stop as they need 250 people. Lots of people moving over from T1 getting interviewed aswell.

Did they say when you would know if you got the job.

    Within a week they said.

Deadly, good man. I got called for a third round, they want to interview for the TL role instead...

I've been a manager for a few years, but didnt think I had enough experience for it, but they obviously think so.

I've never been for a third round interview, crazy nervous now !
