Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Runway closed. SX-KFA (CL60) in the hold NE of Shannon with KU117 B77W inbound over the south east.

Another A380 heading in to Shannon (F-HPJJ) Maybe to replace the earlier one?

Is there any way of finding out when the cargo flights are arriving in dublin for photos ? Not on the arrivals list. Also ive seen a few planes in dublin that arent on the arrivals list either and dont recognise the airlines. Not a divert as theyre set for dublin.

They can often be posted on here, there's also a spotters group on Facebook to check out, besides that you won't know.

I too would suggest joining the Facebook group “Dublin spotters and movements”
2 of my mates are in it and they often give me info on unusual arrivals.

They informed ATC that they only needed CAT5, and an Aer Lingus 757 taking off informed ATC that they can take a temporary downgrade to CAT5.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,281 ✭✭✭✭smurfjed

Interesting, our 777-200’s need category 9 but can be downgraded to 8, therefore cat5 would be unusable.

Personally wouldn't know much about the subject, but were clear as day that the aircraft only required category 5, you can listen back to the ATC transcripts on Liveatc.net

Neither of the aircraft mentioned can drop down to 5.

Sometimes i see large BA planes like 777's departing /arriving DUB. They are not on a scheduled passenger service to Heathrow, so just wondering is it to do with maintenance?

Wonder where it's going. Madeira? Would it have the range to make it to South America from Finland?

I seem to have lost track of the AN12 - I had it heading south west beyond the Cork/ Kerry coast and then it went off screen.

I was walking in town (Limerick) when I heard it pass overhead. Couldn't see it so I guessed it was a C-130. Lovely sound though. Anyone know what flight level it was at overhead Limerick?

I heard the AN12 here over Kerry myself yesterday but couldn't see it due to cloud, It had a nice sound to it and was certainly flying much lower than other planes.

Quite a loud 747 flying over West Clare at the moment, surprised I could hear it through the wind and rain.

Was it not the wing gear that it was renowned for having issues with?

Google digs up more than a few nose gear issues too though.

Seems to be a receiver out of action at Dublin Airport today - very poor ground coverage on FR24.

Does anyone know how many receivers there are in Dublin?

My receiver was down that day - didn't realise it would have such an impact.

Unusual to have disruptive winds from the North!

A Jet 2 737 from Tenerife to Newcastle has just landed in Cork, being met by Fire crews according to ATC.

Special request from Fire Control was that all stay aboard and no emergency exit unless absolutely necessary
