The absolute arrogance to hide two key ministers from account during the campaign. I wonder how anyone rationalised voting for Harris and Murphy, when they treated their electorate with such disdain.
Harris can't be kept off the media since the election.

I'd love to see a FF / SF coalition with SF getting health and housing ministries.

On the other hand, not really, because I wasn't into Harry potter movies either.

FG want to blame others for Brexit and the coming recession. We all know what they are trying to do.

There's a lot of truth in this. Unlike other small European countries like Finland, we operate on extremely pro-cyclical economic policies that leave us unusually exposed to global shocks.

The half-hearted way that FG fought this election would hint at them pulling a Bertie and getting out before the worst effects of Brexit and a slowing world economy rattle our fragile economic system.

What nonsense are you talking about, half hearted? FG have stuck to their central message about a strong economy and that if you want to fix housing and health then you need to be earning money that way.

There's a huge difference between now and Berties pull out. Rents and house prices have both stabilised on comparison to Bertie lecturing about suicide.

FG don't want it. "Preparing for opposition, our mandate is to not enter government negotiations etc etc."

A lot of people wanted to give the government a bloody nose , and they did. But they didn't realise that so many wanted to do the same. It's one thing to do that, but another to think of the possibility of a SF minister for justice...
Yeah can you just imagine when they release records around the Dublin and Monaghan bombings and find that the FG government were complicit in covering up the murder of Irish people on Irish streets?

Breaking News: FG 'lost' the election.. have to laugh at some people here, always want their cake and to eat it.

SF can bluster all they want, hold public meetings, blah blah - but they're in no rush to really take responsibility at this time.

It's a game of chicken, pass the parcel and see who's left holding the baby.

You have a very understanding boss Francie.

Like where do you get the time form morning to evening to defend SF non stop!

    I admire you.

Didn't John Brady top the poll in Wicklow?

Harris didn't get elected until the fifteenth, that's the reality.

It is ironic to see so many Shinnerbots on Twitter promoting the idea of FPTP. They appear to see the British system as the best one because it would have given them an undemocratic majority just like Boris'.

"British is best" should be the Sinn Fein slogan for a change in the electoral system.

Turning back to your post, the fact is Fine Gael got more votes than Sinn Fein in Wicklow.

Sounds like SF are already making excuses for their failure to carry out their promises - if they happen to get into government.

They are running scared of going into government.

Off around the country holding rallies of supporters brought from town to town by hired buses rather than actually sitting down and negotiating with other political parties.

Shinners don't do Governement. They do ranting and raving behind a megaphone, it's where MLM belongs. Not negiotating a programme fot government. That's for others to do- so she can spend another 5 years on her hole opposing it.

The numbers simply aren't there for a sf government, it ll more than likely be some arrangement between ffg and others

Oh SF are a laughing stock now. They don't know how to govern?

The laughing stock is FG and how little they've been elected in the Republic over the past 100 years. Now that's a literal laughing stock

Varadkar reminds me of his pal Trump. Anytime ML does anything he's off on one about bullying and intimidating. These are the death throws of an ego maniac as the walls close in on his tenure as caretaker waster overseeing the growth of numerous crises while patting himself on the back for the economy and high employment, like 'everything is awesome' as the song goes.
Surely Coveney or somebody can step in and save what dignity FG have left?
They need rid of Harris, Varadkar, Flanagan and Murphy the high profile stooges, and rebuild with mature reasoned politicians.

Imagine standing in the corner of Coppers, slagging some lad because he's only been with 8 women in his life, while the other fella has been with 17 in the same timespan, and you yourself have never gotten the shift. That's what that post reads like.

The aul lad part is probably why you still vote FG.

You have had years to help find fault with the country, done nothing and now contest people looking for a change.
Not sure if it's cowardice or greasy palms, but it has to be one of them that is keeping you there.

Edited - It could also be blind politics.

    December?

    Hmmm...

Giving you the benefit. Why TF would an aul lad change his vote after a hundred years to vote for FG this year?
What did Labour or FF do this time to make you change your vote?
Or did you never vote before?
Or did you just realise your previous votes never came to amount to anything?

Ah I just wanted a party that would do nothing for 5 years only complain
Didn't want that void left empty this time
I usually vote for Charlie Keddy
    Prior to that Jim Tallon

Fair dues. If I may ask why not in 2011 when most of us did? I mean you wait until the disappointment of Kenny and the less than blazing trail of Varadkar, the numerous crises and ineptitude and then decide FG are the way to go?
Also as a floating voter, why do you find it so difficult, or seem to anyway, that others might be like minded and have voted for parties they are not tied to in this election? Every post out of you is pretty bitter and on the attack, with a smidgen of whataboutery. Odd for a first time FG voter is all.
