So weird having snow yesterday and this today!

In the southwest here, thought the wind was finished half an hour ago only for it to come back way worse, stuff blowing everywhere.

Definitely the worst wind we've had all winter!

but the eye of the storm is the calmest part? isn't it?

Yes, that's exactly what he is saying.
It's quiet in Limerick because they are in the eye of the storm, but it's going to increase rapidly as the eye moves away.

Usually, these Atlantic lows miss Ireland, tracking north and 'out of the way' but this winter,, storm after storm has been deeper and closer to Ireland.. and this one is hitting directly.. terrifying.

Almost on time, must have checked the models to make sure it would match.

It is gone mental, this is on par with 97. No rain just pure wind here around the city. It is even sunny, the sustained wind reports for 1pm will make interesting reading.

It might be the case now where we lose posters in the danger zone as they lose their power!

Peak winds on the far southwest coast should be happening over the next hour or so.

That track looks currently due Easterly, is there a chance it will keep the dangerous winds on the southern flank offshore, or will it likely track NE today and mess with Leinster?

Your post is completely wasted unless you state where you are.

Wouldn't be surprised if there were outages in Cork City

Power out here in Killorglin area now Mid Kerry. Wind really gusting strongly now as bad as I've seen it I would say. Would expect new wind record on my weather station when power returns.

The comment could apply to about 50% of the country right now!

Brighter than I thought it would be here in Waterford, the wind has mainly been of the gusty variety.

Quite dark now in East Limerick, heavy rain, was very gusty up until a few minutes ago, and now gone quite calm again right now.
