Seems to be unstable at the moment, presume they are tinkering. Will wait till they update us saying it's 'fixed'

Yeah I tested in Galway today and it was up to about 7.5Mbit/s faster than the last few months for certain.

I was just about to move. We will see what happens.

Where did you read about the fault? Here on boards, twitter, other forums?

Did anyone get to upgrade on this plan to the galaxy S5 for a resonable price in Meath or Dublin lately ??

I was quoted €99 to upgrade to the S5 in CPW in Harvey Norman, Drogheda(I know thats not Meath or Dublin but its close to both!) while renewing the 18 month contract. Its about as good a deal thats out there.Went for the Xperia Z3 instead, very happy I did,its a cracking phone.

Thanks for that i might take a spin over on sunday.
I went into Blanch today and they couldnt do that upgrade unless i paid full price ie €69.
I dont think they knew what they were at though but they tried at least.

Originally,I was quoted €319 in emobile to upgrade to a S5 so I took the €99 option straight away. A few posters here gave me the heads up about Harvey Norman.

There is no way im paying anymore for a phone than that.
Did you get yours recently ??

Got it Monday, delighted with it,way quicker than my S3,camera brilliant.I think €99 is a decent price to pay for a top end phone and to stay on the €34.50 a month deal

Contract is due to finish in February but eMobile said I can get an upgrade this week.

Would Harvey Normans have any issues in giving me the upgrade early?

CPW in cavan are saying emobile trying to get people of the €35.00 a month package and wont give an upgrade price on the new iphone's.

The package they want people to move to is 6 months at €24.00 and then €39 a month there after.

The price of the iphone 6 on this package for 18 months €279 or 24 months €229

    iphone 6+ 18 months €379 & €329 for 24 months.

Anyone a recent experience on this? A relation on the 34.50 plan was quoted 229 in an emobile store for the M8 which seems excessive..thanks

It is excessive. But unfortunately this is Emobile's way of compensating for such a great deal. I myself had problems when going to upgrade and the phone was costing a ridiculous amount of money. Fortunately a friend of mine works in Emobile and advised me of another contract which cost a bit more but wouldn't break the bank when upgrading later.

Sounds about right. They kept the handset prices high for folks on the offer to try to get them off it. They will probably offer a different deal on a higher price in turn for a lower cost on the phone.

But the thing is, is it really such a great deal any more? Unlimited plan with Tesco is €25 per month without a phone. So over 2 years his relation would have paid an extra €240 + €229 for the phone = €469. They might be better taking the Tesco sim plan and just purchasing a phone...

That's a plus. What is the data plan. This eMobile offers 15gbs which can be tethered and afaik no networks offer anything like this so main reason I haven't jumped ship

I got a text but that's not what it said. This was it:

Customer Notice: It has come to our attention that we do not currently have an eircom account or phone number associated with your eMobile account. You can update your details by visiting emobile.ie/customer-update. This will help ensure you are on the correct eircom bundle offer and you continue to receive your eircom discount. The eMobile Team

I rang them and they told me to ignore it.

I signed up originally then got 18 month extension which ends this month. Went to Carphone Warehouse, 18 months ago, and got an Xperia Z3 for €99 while staying on this deal. I still think unlimited everything for €34.50 is a great deal so I'm also looking out for decent upgrade like the last time.

Is tesco mobile €25 unlimited everything not a better deal?

Got the Z5 as an early upgrade for 99euro a few weeks ago and was told it's still on this plan.

I notice that it says the following on my latest bill:
    Your plan
    Select Unlimited 18 months 05 Mar 2016 - 04 Apr 2016 €60.1626
    Select Unlimited 12 Months 50%
    Discount 05 Mar 2016 - 04 Apr 2016 - €32.1138
    Total plan charges €28.0488

That 28 euro is ex vat so it's 34.50 every month.

I'm not sure if that means it's going to go up to 60+vat per month for the final 6 months or not. It reads like it does, but I've just looked at December's bill, which would have been Month 13 or 14 of my previous contract and that had the same on it and I was still paying 34.50. Hopefully that discount stays for the duration of the contract.

    My current plan still says:
Your current plan is Select Unlimited 18 months (doesn't say anything about eircom friends and family offer - maybe it never did, I don't know.

I have that and it's still the same.. signed up in June 2012. Contract ended December 2013, though I was allowed change from Oct.
Out of contract now and debating on changing to another provider with cheaper prices but the same package but they'd have 4G.
I'll just buy the phone myself from now on.
