Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

i've been looking on aliexpress for one of these. How the hell do you pick, how do you pick a seller and how do you change the delivery option (and to which one)??

They seem to have gone up a bit, some of it may be currency fluctuation, but they're definitely more expensive than a short while ago.
I purchased one roughly two weeks ago for < €48 delivered within a week.

You may have a better chance tomorrow.

I'd try THESE first, but you will probably have to talk to a seller via chat to get more realistic shipping rates.

Amazon.co.uk have a DroidPlayer Dual Core Android TV Box Media Player with XBMC Streamer in their Black Friday offering at 10.00am tomorrow (Friday). Is currently priced at £70.00. Should be back to mid 50s in the offer. Despatched by Amazon, so no worry about Customs and carriafe to Ireland is free. Here is a link to the item http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00FCK8APA/ref=gb1h_img_c-3_2147_c75b568c?pf_rd_m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_s=center-3&pf_rd_r=086BT76DYW01C4P95369&pf_rd_i=161428031&pf_rd_p=560262147

    - 1GB RAM (DDR3)
    - 8GB Total Internal Storage

its £50 so 63 euro. The spec is low compared to Gearbest/chinese websites.

Advantage is you will get quicker and won't get hit with customs.

But even with customs I think you would get spec from Gearbest/chinese

I dont know anything about the firmware etc on the box.

Some of the comments seem funny

"Great until the software deleted... whoever was the programmer quit and took the software that the box needs to watch tv and movies... there is no mashup.. so really now im stock with a box and can only you tube "

"To claim this is worth the same price as a Roku or WD TV live or Amazon Fire TV is absurd. Within 1/2 hour of use it is clear it is not up to the task. The remote is next to useless, the speed of the wired Ethernet is painfully slow so that to even compile my XBMC library took an hour and that was with metadata stored on the server and read from .nfo files!"

Apart from that a number of people saying the software is crap and it more or less shuts itself off after a few days.....

If you know how to flash would be worth checking if there is ROM's available out there

I wouldn't spend my cash on it....already have a overpriced Minix X8-H with dodgy firmware

There seems to be a few new models/versions out every day.
Anyway, this won't suffer from the same problems as the M8, as it isn't made by the same people. It has the newer hardware and includes a free mouse and Flash drive while this offer is running (Up to Dec 4th).
Netherlands Post (PostNL) should get it here pretty quickly.

Not sure if this is the box you bought....but there is usually a code with the boxes on Gearbest

This is the code for the 1GB box

    Link: http://www.gearbest.com/tv-box/pp_67807.html
Coupon: M82LG, which will bring the price to €48.81 free shipping.

Offical firmware V002 is out for the Minix. First impressions are excellent. Very stable and responsive. Only problem is with the MINIX xbmc as SMB network share doesn't work but they are trying to fix it. Their xbmc beta 3 still works so you can downgrade to that or just install another version. Fair play to MINIX for sorting out the problems as I wasn't one bit happy with the box for a long time. Not impressed spending all that money to be a beta tester but its now rock solid for me. Bought a Mele deluxe remote for it and its an excellent piece of kit.

I ordered on a Monday, shipped 8 days later on a Tuesday and said 7-15 days so early estimate could be this the end of this week or next. Depends on what your ordering and the delivery method you choose.

This box I guess? yes it is perfect for xbmc. Comes preloaded as well with XBMC. I done a small review a few pages back. Also comes with nice launcher to make it easier for the new user.

As per the title of the thread there is no discussion about stream etc on this thread.

I'm not sure if this is the right thread but here goes: Is there one of those Android Mini PCs on a stick (ideally with a built in HDMI connector on one end) that I could remove Android from and put OpenElec on? Bascially I'm looking for XBMC/Kodi on a stick. If it could be powered by a TV's usb port as well I'd be laughing but it's not a deal breaker!

Be careful buying from geekbuying and shipping DHL. I've just been hit with a charge of 31.20 because geekbuying failed to put the cost of shipping on the invoice.
Revenue tell DHL to charge vat on shipping at set rates per weight if there is no shipping cost is on invoice. This rate happens to be €68 for an mxiii box. I was told by DHL that revenue dose not allow them to amend the cost of shipping so its pointless sending my paypal invoice.

On the most recent shipping I got with DHL they had an email address on the back to send in information if you did not agree with the price assigned to it for VAT. I would guess if you send the link to the product they can only charge for VAT on it?

Normally thats the case but Ive been told by Dhl that customs will not allow them to amend the shipping rate regardless of documentation.

I only need the keyboard for set up and the odd time I take down for captcha but I find it easier than remote/fly mouse

Expedited is quicker but you or more less going to get hit with customs. I have once not get hit by customs by DHL and cant understand why. So you are better building in the cost of customs on the price of the box.

If going standard it takes a looonnnngggg time but you have a better chance of not getting hit with customs.....still you could wait for ages and still get hit with customs. It also takes them alot longer to work out the cost, DHL will do it up in an hour or 2

Is there much difference between the mx2 and mx3? I previously had a 2 that I have away but I was going to buy another, solely for xbmc does it matter if its 1 or 2 gig or ram?
