Clubhouse and 1st tee at Moate Golf Club last Monday morning. I wasn't playing, as I was on shop duty for the day. The joys of being a committee member!

Ahh Moate clubhouse, place in my heart and not just as an ex member. It was one of the first jobs I worked on from design, planning and supervision of construction in the company I work for!! I remember doing detail drawings back in 1996 for it!!

Without doubt one of the classiest tracks about, although often under appreciated when taken out of context.

Nice silverware. The monthly medal is enormous and more akin to a monthly plate. Is that the norm in most clubs or what's generally the prize?
I once won a monthly medal in 2011 and the prize was an engraved silver medal/medallion about 3" in diameter. Nice little token to mark the occasion but at the time was expecting something a little more significant.

I'm not sure the norm at all. I wasn't expecting it to be that big at all. Can eat a small steak and chips off it.

Yeah, very links at times with the pot bunkers and hard fairways with fescue and whispy rough. Just a great course, shame the sun didn't come out until I was in the car on the way home :(

Some shots I snapped at this year's Captain's Prize at Woodstock Golf Club Ennis.

The 1st ... intimidating opening tee shot [index 3] ... not for the 'just-jumped-out-of-the-car' golfer!
    15157731999_812f9752e2.jpg

    Par 3 4th ... about 190y off the whites.
    15157964957_47e896c410_z.jpg

    A wood through the wood ... 5th ... par 5
    14763538990_cc1f07ab93_z.jpg

7th .... index 1 par 4 ... over water, then over more water.
    14813223816_299220074f_c.jpg

    8th ... par 3 index 7 185yds ... a dry ball is a good ball.
    14649581288_4c82eb561c_c.jpg

    Approach to par 5 ninth.
