    You can upgrade to the latest Spark again once you have flashed Spark 1.2.51 firmware (Enigma2 Boot Upgrade). Whatever change that makes to stability in flashing enigma2 images apparently doesn't get over-written by flashing new Spark firmware over it.

    Good to see a software developer with the Alien 2. Plugins are mostly written in Python so you can see the source code and how they work. I've just installed Python 2.7 on my laptop with PyScripter and having a play around.

    Having a little bit of trouble with my Amiko Alien 2,

    Basically it all started when Enigma wouldn't boot, from reading online forums it appeared that this occurred because the internal flash storage was full (probably because my HD was plugged out of it and EPG's must have been saving to internal memory)

    SO...

    It seemed that re-installing Enigma would be the best way forward, I attempted to use the upgrade plug-in within Spark but it would not start - so I used the old fashioned method of installing during boot. This did not work either, and after many attempts Spark decided to stop working also.

    SO...

    I tried to load the spark recovery image onto the box via USB, it got about half way and then gets stuck on U LD... - from recommendations on forums I bought a RS232 adapter to see what was happening during installation - it was getting stuck on
    reading spark/userfsub.img
    .............................
    infinitely.

    SO..

    this seemed to be an issue with the amount of memory that was being assigned for the install ref: this thread http://sparkfans.net/viewtopic.php?f=50&t=44576&start=30#p55167

    I attempted to reset the limit, but I'm still faced with the same issue sticking at loading userfsub.img - any ideas? :L

    Lots of things could be going wrong here.

    1. Is the USB key Fat 32 formatted and plugged into the rear of Alien 2? Try to re-format the key. I used EaseUs Partition Master 9.1.1 Home Edition which is free. Make the partition Primary and Fat 32.
    2. Have you tried this with a different usb key?
    3. Have you tried re-downloading the rescue image. I took Spark 1.2.68 from this page of that forum.
    4. Did you definitely reset the load memory address and check what it is now as described in that thread? Maybe do this again.
    5. You can also to try load the rescue image without a usb key but with a lan cable.

    Basically everything I can think of is covered in thread1 and thread2 from that forum. So I guess, try the above steps and have a close read over those two threads again.

    I have championc's hyperion v2 image loaded for a months now, no issues until recently where recordings fail to complete.

    I set up a timer to record a programme and it kicks off fine, but when the recording completes it only has recorded 53 mins or so.

    I have tried different usb keys to record and I get the same issue. Thing is it records the odd show fully maybe 10% of the time.

    I have a feeling it maybe related to multiquickbutton, I tried to remove it from the plugin menu but can't.

    Any one have this recording issue?

    No, hasn't for a long time, developer was too busy to keep it going if I remember correctly.

    Have Championc's latest image running on my box (Sab Unix Triple HD) and its great , very impressive ,

    I also have a Sab Unix F+ Solo which I only found out today is an Enigma2 receiver also ,

    I tried loading the image onto that but as its a different chipset ( STi 7111) it would not work , just came up with load on the front of the box and would not install .

    Ive loaded an image onto the box based on the Open AR but it does not have Auto Bouquets ,

    Would I be able to FTP into the Triple HD and copy the Auto Bouquets file and load it on the F+ Solo ?

    You could try it and see. Or else, here is a link to the AutoBouquets Forum where you could ask that question and probably they will know straightaway.

    A few earlier posts have disappeared into Boards Oblivion so to repeat...

    zakalibit posted a link to his updated version of RTEPlayer.

    A version of 3Player is available in Post 10 of the Firmware Thread. There seem to be other versions of 3Player around the web such as this website and in Post #4 on this website.

    I can't get any of the 3Player plugins to work on my Alien2.

    Well I thought I had Championc's latest image on my box until I went and checked the thread and noticed that he had updated it ,

    I just tried to load it on there but when I go to boot the box in Enigma its stuck on boot !

    Any ideas of how to solve this or has any one got a previous copy of the image ?

    ***Disaster averted ***

    Had Kept a Copy of the file on a separate USB ,

    Still strange why the new one wont load

    Hi All,

    I'm still having issues with some recordings are fine, and other are 0Mb with 0:0:0 recorded.

    I did think it was only recording the free channels but having tested further it's completely random as to which channels record and which don't.

    Anyone else on V3 hyperon having these issues?

    Yeah I'm on v3 also, it would appear to be a problem across all images though, all images I've used in the past have been the same.

    I suppose you could check to see if the failed recordings are on a different transponder to the channel currently selected at the moment the recording begins... I never had any real success with running recordings on the Amiko.

    How would I check that?

    Never had a problem with the older HDMU or Yoda Satstation I used to use. Although this V3 hyperon is more stable in every other way, my only issue is missed recordings.

    Must be a fix, no?

    If there is we're yet to find it. It could be something to do with tuners not kicking in. I've also noticed the odd time if I'm recording something on Rte1,flick o we to something else and go back to rte1 that the screen will be black. I have go to another channel and then back again to fix it.

    On Hyperian V3, I've an issue with autobouquets, Sky sports 1 HD & news are not unscambling. I can go into all channels & select another broadcast of sky sports 1 or news & it will unscamble. I've tried different regions but still the same. Is there a way edit autobouquets to select the other broadcast.

    Ya, seeing this as well. When on 1 pay channel, it will not record another, or if recording will not show another pay channel. it's as if oscam behaving same way as mgcam. But also happens when recording rte 1 & film4 +1. it's the first real issue i've seen with V3.

    I had the 0mb problem alot on Hy v2 recording basic stuff like Corrie and FairCity so that was why I dumped it and grabbed AR-P again when the HD Judder was fixed.

    For Oscam problem, you need an image which has the Swap ca0 <> ca1 fix. It's done in my latest image - see previous posts.

    Thats a universal issue I'm afraid,Sky are up to something with those channels the last few weeks.

    Not having those issues but I find the Hard Drive is not being mounted every so often.
    Also playback of recorded programmes can stop every so often and I need to press right on the remote to get it to resume.
    I'm not sure if this is a hard drive issue as an external hard drive is not ideal ,internal drive is much superior.
    I've tried 2 different external drives and had the same issue .

    in mew to sattelite equip etc...so please bear with me..

    i just purchased an amiko triple tuner, working on enigma, not spark...

    my problem is 7 day epg...

    it shows what is currently on and maybe whats on later for a couple of hours but thats it....cant look forward a few days to zap programs to record...

    also some channels display nothing until i turn on that channel...

    any help would be great, step by step instructions would be even better, please dont be too technical as i said completely new to it and dont want to destroy or delete important stuff on box !!!

    otherwise box i great, hdmi is brilliant and recording works well

    Check the EPG settings in the menu, there's not enough room on the internal memory for the EPG data so if it's set to internal flash drive it won't work. Change it to the external HDD.

    Is there a copy of the AR-P image you're using Champion? I'd like to give it a try if it works well.

    that worked, easy when u know how !!!!

    one more thing, while watching a movie on any of the movie stations the narration is on, i have to press yellow button and scroll down to option 2 to turn it off, is this happens when i turn channel and come back to it...is there a way to permanently disable the narratting ??

    Go to MENU-SETUP-SYSTEM-AUTO LANGUAGE SELECTION then set 'Prefer AC Track' to yes
