When I do a manual satellite scan I pick up lots of channels. When I turn the box off with the switch at the back and restart the box later I loose the satellite channels and have to do a scan again. Is this normal or am I not saving the satellite scan properly?

Have an alien2+, running Championc Hyperion v2.

Why are you flicking the switch to reboot, do an enigma restart in the menu after your scan

I am turning the box off and disconnecting the satellite feeds so I can bring it into work were I can ftp into it.
Will try an enigma restart in menu after by next scan and hope this will save the channels.

the satellite channels should be there & no scan needed (assuming u want 28.2) except for terrestrial channels if you are on a different transmitter than champion. There's an updated hyperion V3 which i find is more stable and only things i needed to do was to network to my preference, manual scan on terrestrial & enter oscam details.

Chances are that the satellites.xml file doesn't have the right TP details for 16°. There are several sites that allow you to create custom XML files such as http://satellites-xml.eu/.
These sites aren't foolproof but will put you in the right direction.
From memory, the file resides in etc/tuxbox but I'm open to correction here.

Tried to boot up the box today after leaving it on for a couple of days and shutting it down, started first time but no video and then tried to boot multiple times but keep on getting green screen and load 0 on box with error '[network browser] fallback to default translation for Manage network shares

    Any ideas?

    Thanks

Just loaded bappelbe's H3 image. EMU is started but nothing on ECM info and completely forgot proper ways to enable emu's (oscam.server etc). Also How do you "cycle" through the options on AutoBouquets?? I knew but again memory seems to be on fade.

    Edit: damn!! "menu" on AutoBouquets!!

Edit2: what's the username and password for oscam gui?? root-oscam is not working.

Happy Christmas lads. Just did a scan there using the Hyperion image, but none of the Irish channels are showing up. Do I need to change the default frequencies or something? Tried that there, but no good!

Thanks but it's not the error problem. It's just that I forgot how and where to put server details.

Edit: is var/key folder supposed to be empty on new installation? Don't have any oscam related files there. I copied over the saved ones from my old configuration but still no success.

Go to menu - setup - service searching - Auto Bouquets - ok
When Auto Bouquets opens up press Menu ans select REpublic of Ireland HD as your region , GReen to save and GReen again to run Auto BOuquets.
When complete IRish channels will be on 101 , 102 , 103 etc.

Thanks very much, I'll post back when I've done that. Watching a movie at the moment.

EDIT: It asked me if I wanted to run NIT scan, so I just selected yes?

Finished that scan and still no Irish channels. Can't get my head around it at all. We have the Ferguson Ariva in the kitchen and that's so straightforward in comparison.

Irish channels are paid channels on satellite, you'll need to scan terrestrial

This box is a lot more advanced than the Ferguson, no comparison, this is a linux sat box that you can modify to your own needs

So autobouquets is no good for that? I've tried a manual scan on the terrestrial tuner, but nothing comes up. I'm sure it's something really simple I'm overlooking, but I can't figure it out.

I know the box is more advance, that's why I told my dad to get it. Just didn't think I'd find the basics so difficult.

Have a look back this thread, it's come up several times, find the frequency on the Saorview site and run a manual scan on the frequencies with the bandwidth at to 8mhz

Updated to the AR-P image and managed to find "18 channels" straight away. Only a couple work, but it's progress at least. They come in under RTENL, any way if fixing the broken channels?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 426 ✭✭FlexMcMurphy

L'prof if you search the thread with the keyword 'Saorview' then you will find all the help you need. The broken channels may be just Test Channels and you have to scan two different frequencies. This post has details about what frequencies to use when scanning in saorview channels on enigma2 images.

Ok, thanks. I tried 3 frequencies that I took from the Ferguson Ariva. Hopefully they're not included in that link.

Edit: Same story. "Service not found! (SID not found in PAT) for most channels. A couple work. I'll search saorview and see, but I've spent too much time on it at this stage. Thanks for all the help anyway guys.

Gave up the fight to install bappelbe's H3 image as it won't clear the oscam key. Other H3 images from different site has no problem on oscam side.

Noticed I Got same error in box I put in my mams yesterday using champions newest ar-p image..works fine in spark..

I could only either get channels on mux 1 working but above error on channels on mux2 if I scanned freq for mux1 first or vice versa if I scanned freq for mux2 first.
    Anyone know why that is??

Using Hyperian V3, have an annoying issue that I had on V2 also. The program description is blank on certain programs while its there for others. It happens in channel selection & cool tv guide. I've tried the force reload crossepg which helps but still leaves some blank program descriptions. Any ideas would be much appreciated.

When you get the error: "Service not found! (SID not found in PAT)". Are you letting it 'Clear Before Scan' each time you do a new scan? You should only leave that as YES the first time and then any subsequent scans leave that as NO otherwise it will delete the channels you scanned in last time.

It is blank on Sat channels for me, if you use the GraphicalMulti EPG instead of cooltv (press red button and it is a choice there) the description works BUT I cannot get to change bouquets using this EPG.

I saw a link on another forum about going to menu - setup - EPG settings and turn off EIT epg but this caused saorview problems for me.

I did not set up oscam on my image so it would have to be set up from scratch

    zefer and l'prof

I have been having problems with saorview scans on all images except Hyperion 2 & 3, there are others here with these problems but we have not worked out what the difference between us and those who have it working is.

If you need a different image working, first get hyperion working then ftp the files with dreamboxedit to your PC and then restore them to the other image.

Nope, only leave it yes for 1st scan and no for other scan. It worked fine on Other images, just not this one for some reason. Very odd

Just thought I'd update here since a few posters have me a helping hand. I think my main problem was the image I had loaded into the box. Once I loaded up the image Flex recommended, all the channels came in and I've now organised everything the way I want it. Thanks for all the help lads.

Has anyone here had tune failed issues with certain satellite channels like Sky Living +1, RTE2 ,Eden +1, and Nat Geo +1 ?
A friend of mine bought a receiver lately and he is having issues with these channels and I'm wondering if its a fault with the tuner as the signal from the dish is good and worked fine with a previous dreambox receiver.
