    Hi,
    I tried to rev the Spark software back to v1.2.51 (Enigma2 Boot Upgrade) in order to install Enigma, coulddn't get it to load. Could I just install Hyperion V3 on top of V1.2.6X?
    Thanks for all the info so far.
    Jim

    Versions of Spark below about 1.2.65 are not available because of a bug so it should be fine with the version you have

    Hi there.
    I just installed TheTechGuys Hyperion V3 image on Triplex. (Thanks for the upload btw)
    Everything seems okay except i can't access the oscam settings. I just get "403 Forbidden , Access denied."
    Any ideas what could be wrong?

    Update:
    Got it working. Changed port, password, ip range, restarted router, restarted satbox.
    One or more of these seems to have sorted it.

    You can get previous versions of Spark firmware from various places on the web such as the lavatronics forum. You will have to subscribe there but they have every Spark firmware including v1.2.51 (Enigma2 Boot Upgrade).

    Many have said it is wise to install v1.2.51 prior to messing with enigma2 images as it makes it less likely the Alien 2 will get stuck in boot loops. I'm not sure if the Enigma2 Boot Upgrade code is included in every new Spark firmware release.

    Yes, but you may or may not have problems down the line. Were you installing it correctly? Was the USB key not recognised? You may need to try another Key or download the firmware again or from another source.

    just installed V3 myself & have the same 403 forbidden message also. I don't understand, where did u change port etc.?

    Anyone - Is there a quick button for cool tv? don't see the multibutton plugin.

    first impressions of V3 - excellent or as some people would say 'it's the pigs bollix'

    First impressions so far are good. No problems so far. No freezing and much faster channel zap, info and epg.
    I FTP'd to the box and edited the var/keys/oscam.conf.
    Blue panel-settings-keymapper should do what you need.

    I don't use Spark but it looks like you are scanning satellite, not terrestrial

    If your aerial is pointed to Cleremont Carn from Bettystown you will also pick up Kilkeel UK Freeview light.
    Here are the frequencies.

    Cleremont Carn 754000

    Kilkeel 666000 , 642000 & 618200 (scan all three)

    Im in Drogheda , not far from you and getting everything on my Amiko Alien2 triple Tuner.

    I dont use Spark myself , would be much better for you if you ran Enigma2 on that box.

    How do I physically connect my laptop to the Amiko Alien 2 triple in order to transfer files?
    Do I go directly with a lan cable from my laptop?
    My laptop is wireless, the Amiko is connect to the router via a powerline.

    Download Dreambox Control Centre into your laptop then connect wirelessly from your laptop to your Alien2 via your router.

    Hi Goodson thanks for the reply I don't think I am running spark as it does not come up on screen with booting up, I tried those frequency and still can't get anything, I even got my sons box the same make and model and still the same. Maybe I am scanning it wrong.

    Ignore previous post got it sorted

    I had similar issue a couple of weeks back & had previously worked. After trying loads of different stuff with different images, undoing spark upgrades etc. Fix was to reformat usb key & put image on it again - not in any folder on the memory stick.

    Hi,
    So you had just had e2jffs.img and uImage, but not in an enigma2 folder?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 101 ✭✭honestbroker

    Which is better with this box a C line or an N line?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 351 ✭✭Big Wex fan

    Have you tried the red button?

    Is it possible to change the order of the extensions on the Red button?

    That worked for me but it was probably the usb key reformat that fixed it.

    @BigWexFan
    I dont see your .conf file, but this is the end of mine...

    [webif]
    httpport = 8889
    httpuser = root
    httppwd = password
    httpshowpicons = 1
    httpallowed = 192.168.0.0-192.168.99.99

    I changed the port number, password and httpallowed range,
    restarted the box and router, then it worked.
