Well done izzy24, take it one pound at a time and you'll get there.

I had my last weigh for 2011 this evening, I usually go about once a month but haven't been in 9 weeks, I had set my own Christmas goal of 7lbs and delighted I got there this evening. 7lbs under goal weight which will be great for Christmas in case I go overboard. Hoping not to do too much damage but want to be able to enjoy myself too.

Hope you all have a great Christmas - eat well & drink loads

Thanks guys, the car was a write off but my weight watching won't be.. Jeez Decembers are always crap for me, I had a sign fall off a building about 8 years ago Christmas week! I broke a bone in my neck!! C4 I think it was, and two years ago, December 8 th I found out I had cervical cancer! Feeling a bit blue this week, after falling 7 steps down stairs week before last and crashing my car on Monday on the ice, I'm black as well as blue:( I think the universe is trying to tell me something!!

Went to my last meeting before christmas last night and was down four and a half pounds which is great.
Only five of us stayed for the meeting and we were all down a couple of pounds and one reached his Goal last night.

Got up and went for a long walk with the dog this morning and have tracked everything I've eaten so far today. I'll keep tracking up to Christmas eve and start again after Stephen's Day. I'll make sure to get in plenty of walking too.

My next meeting is on 5th of january and I'm not going to undo all my hard work so far. happy Christmas and Keep on tracking

Start NOW. Draw the line in the sand. Dont be dwelling on what you did - focus on what you will do, starting this minute. Get out the tracker and start tracking. Xmas is the hardest time of year, so if you can make some attempt now, imagine how mcuh easier this will be in Jan??

So you put on 4lbs - imagine where you would be if you totally gave up and didn't even try?
If losing weight was easy, we'd all look like Kate Moss :D and WW would be out of business.
Use xmas time to get out and walk as much as you can.

Don't give up on yourself, you're worth so much more.

It's a great feeling, isn't it, to get to goal. I got there in September, and for the first time ever, have managed to maintain the weight loss ever since. Usually I think 'that's it, I've done it now, I can forget about it' with the result it all went back on again, but for some reason, this time it's going ok. I think the ProPoints have a lot to do with it, it's a more liveable with type of system.

Decided to come on this page here cos have been so bad with WW for last 2 months and weight creeping on up that am getting real tired of it.was training for dub city marathon and did brill time.had to up intake of food as was doing between 15 to 20 mile running at weekend! Was brilliant :) my mental attitude improved as well as body shape but since marathon have picked up knee injury and Physio told me to lay off running for a while but have gained half stone since - am eating more than I ate during marathon training which boils mainly down to my mood.today tho I decided to give myself a kick in the ass and change my out look back to when I was running.there is no class over the Xmas and kno that am prob mad to get bak into it when Xmas is here but it's not Xmas that does damage to me - it's boredom and feeling sorry for myself.so have made out a goal for myself and weighed myself on my own WW scales so here it goes - wish me luck :) will let you kno how I get on next week

    Hey all,

A nice new thread for us all!!

I've kept on the straight and narrow all week so far so feeling good!

Found out the quorn sausies are only 1 each which is great, as long as I avoid quorn with pastry or crumb coatings I'm pretty much sorted!

I have the Quorn sausages at 2 Pro Points !!! ??? . Discovered Hartleys low fat jelly (0 Pro Points) in Dunnes Stores today and with a Weight Watchers Yogurt makes a nice desert for 1 pro point. Check out those sausages again, maybe I am wrong, hope so.

Had an unplanned fry up yesterday in a friends house. It was my first fry up in months and I actually felt really crap after it, I'm wondering if that means my body isn't used to it and is now giving out, that'd be a good thing! Anyway I felt so bad that I decided to go for an hour long walk and all I ate for the rest of the evening was fruit! Back on track today thankfully.

I'm not doing too bad this Christmas so far. Haven't been snacking much and have found ways to get the extra food out of the house. Like having 10 people over tonight to eat turkey curry and assorted sweets. :D

Really crap at exercising though, the most I did was a shopping trip yesterday where I bought a pair of size 12 trousers in the sale. Still tight, but we'll get that sorted in no time. :).

We'll be due a shop on Saturday so time to stock up on healthy stuff.

  • Registered Users Posts: 155 ✭✭Elliejo

I went off the rails completely since last Friday. According to my scales, I've put up 7lbs in that space of time. Back to tracking, and back down to 29 PPs (was up to 34 for maintenance) for the next week until weigh-in next Wednesday.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,014 ✭✭✭Monife

I have gone a bit off the rails the last 3 weeks. Didn't go to the 2 meetings before the Christmas hols due to my boldness. Weird thing is, my scales is showing as me staying the same... I think it is definitely broken. It is one of those old non-digital ones, must get electric one in the new year.

Anyway, just posting to say I am still here and read the thread every day but I am not getting back on track (personal choice) until 2nd of January.

Well done to those who didnt totally succumb to temptation.

I'm joining weight watchers next Wednesday for the second time. Hope to lose the weight and keep it off this time! I've a wedding in Italy in May and I'm bridesmaid for my sister in August so that should keep me motivated. I love the way this thread is so encouraging. Hope it will help keep me on the straight and narrow for the next few months. Looking forward to trying some of the recipes and starting to fit back into my wardrobe :D Keep up all the good advice!

Back in the gym today, and tracking, hopped on the scales and it looks as if I am only up about a pound over the Christmas, next weigh in Jan 4th. hope to be down.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,090 ✭✭✭tiny_penguin

2012 and I'm rejoining weightwatchers on tuesday. Its been a bit of a crazy year for me. Got back from travelling in the end of 2010 4 stone heavier than when I went, which is a full stone heavier than the heaviest id ever been. Joined last year and managed to lose a stone before meeting my boyfriend and falling off the wagon. I havent weighed myself but I have most definitly put back on at least that if not more.

Am fed up of having no will power to say no to anything fried or covered in cheese or butter. I am so determined at the moment and i seriously hope that it lasts.

4 stone in one year is a big goal - prob too big and a little unachievable. But broken down its only a little over a pound a week. Anyway I used to post here last year and found the support brilliant so gonna be hopefully be back here again and this time not falling off the wagon at all!

  • Registered Users Posts: 201 ✭✭ShindyB

I'm starting again too so here goes! best of luck :-)

At the end of the day if your lifestyle has put on some weight, then a change of lifestyle is required to lose that weight. I think we all have to accept that. Lifestyle change usually requires additional exercise and reduced calorie intake, we need to burn off a few extra calories, not easy, but over a period of time you can gradually grow into the better way of living. Not easy, if it was no one would have a weight problem. Best of luck to all you guys over the coming year, we will all do our best to stick to the task.

I'm dreading it and then some!!!!! However I'm realistic. I consciously decided to not do WW at Christmas. It's the one time in the year I enjoy and I'm a diabetic so it's almost like a little holiday for me as I work so hard at it all year. So I'm up I know I am and no one else is responsible for that but me.

I'm get quite bogged down by the numbers on the scales so I'm going to wait an extra week before I go back and be very good and hope the damage is lessened slightly. Looking forward to getting back on track though. 2012 is going to be a good one.

First mini goal of the year always good to get you moving! My birthday is Feb 18th, I'm gonna be down I hope 7 pounds! Happy New Year y'all :)

Doing the exact same. Not going back til I shift a few of the Christmas pounds plus I don't have the money for the re-join fee (haven't been in 5 weeks). Started the day off with a homemade banana and frozen berries smoothie. Going to dive right in and get out for a 5k walk in a little while (haven't exercised in those 5 weeks). Best of luck for 2012 girls :)

At the last meeting before Christmas, our leader was trying to encourage everyone to come back to the first meeting in January. Her point was that you put it off for a couple of weeks to try and undo the damage, but in reality, the majority of people don't lose anything in that time, and often put some up. She feels it's better to face the damage, and then start afresh. I've been that soldier, so I would have to agree with her, but obviously each to their own. I know that I'm going on Wednesday, even though I know I'm up and can't stay to class.

So I was up bright and early this morning, dreading the scales but determined to WI (doing ww@home). I was fully expecting the be up at least 5 pounds as I really went for it over Christmas but, to my utmost surprise I was only up .25 of a pound!! Still in shock here, as I paid no attention whatsoever to what I was eating, and haven't exercised in about 2 weeks! I think this just proves how much your mindset changes doing a plan like ww? It shows it's obviously a lifestyle change, and it alters your perception of being "bad". Obviously my subconscious told me to stop eating, whereas before my hand would have been stuck in a continuous loop from sweets to mouth!! I hope everyone enjoyed their Christmas, because after all, we're all losing weight to enhance our lives, not to miss out on the events that make them special :)

doing ww onmy own aswel and i stood on the scales yesterday only to discover i was down 2lbs!!!!!!! WFT i have absolutly no idea how that happened, all i can think of was that my appetite for big dinners wasnt all that great so i only had one plate full and i was soooo full everytime i didnt eat for the rest of the day hardly, even the thought of trying to pop a chocolate into my mouth made me feel a bit ill!!!! now thats not to say i avoided the chocolates completly....i sat down the other evening and bate in to 6 rafiallos (?) and will prob finish the box tonight!! its head to get back to tracking when theres still soooo much nice stuff to finish!!!
got 2 sets of vouchers for 6 spinning classes (12 classes in total) for christmas as my family know moneys been tight for me and i havnt been able to afford my beloved spinning classes, going to ring the gym tomorrow and book myself in!!! YIPEEE!!!

oh and HAPPY NEW YEAR ALL......may we be on the downward spiral all year!!!!

Hey you cant do it yourself but theres a calculator online, dont have the link to hand but il get it! Can also be done with the ww calculator

I've been in WW two years now and for the first year, I did really well. It all went downhill from then but it was my own fault, over eating.
The ProPoints plan really does work but you need to track everything.
Over the Christmas I did eat what I wanted but I also stopped eating when I was full.
I'm getting weighed this week and I'm not overly concerned because gaining over the festive period isn't unusual; however 2011 wasn't a great year for me, mostly because I didn't put in the work, but I am determined that this year is going to be my year.
I am not happy the way I am and I don't want to be back here next year saying the same thing, so keep up the encouragement everyone, it really helps!

Hi All got this emailed to me this morning.

I'm guessing they cant be used in Ireland - it only states Northern Ireland.

    Can anyone confirm?
