    ^^^^ I’ve seen a good uptake too.

I was concerned on Monday evening though when I went into my local shop. Around 7 girls had just finished their gaa training and came in. None of them had a mask on and they were back and forth to the counter (as kids do). I had hoped their parents would have provided them with face coverings and told them to wear them but there were no signs of having them at all.

Hopefully it was first day forgetfulness and will be different next Monday.

My small village local shop refuse to serve if you don't have a mask since Monday

The kids can train together in gaa but as soon as they enter a shop they have to wear a mask.
How many months did we not wear masks in shops and the virus didn't notice?
Nice long q outside yet free for all inside.

Face coverings are not recommended for young children.

My small village shop is the opposite. I've been once but asking others and the mask wearing is hit and miss. Definitely not be enforced where I am.

You get what I mean, none of it makes any sense. The government acting brainless on purpose would make you wonder.

The fact that they are training together means when they will then be in the vicinity of all other ages (the shop) they should wear a covering.

    @plumb
These were girls of 11-12 years old.

The advice is face masks are not recommended for children under 13.

I'm now seeing up to 90% of people wearing masks in shops and retail. Makes me wonder how those who don't wear them feel about themselves, very proud I imagine, god forbid they be controlled by de gubberment.

I mentioned it to the shop owner the following day. He wasn’t there on Monday eve just the younger staff He said he’d keep an eye out.

We’re a small village so I’m sure it was just new rules teething problems.

Some people cannot wear masks. I posted this for another poster but it wouldn't hurt if you read it aswell

I bought some masks in a chemist recently and they were 1.50 each for disposable ones. That wont help.

Youd probably need to buy 3 or 4 washable ones. To rotate them.

Oh right I didn’t know (my kids all grown up). Might need to stagger their entry to the shop. There was no malice in them just doing what normal kids do getting an item, paying for it, realising they have change, getting something else or standing there counting what money they have left between them and pooling funds :D

If meat plants are experiencing high levels of covid. What is the chances of catching the virus from packets of chilled ham etc.

And what about other foods. Eg packs of fruit from Spain, or breads from other areas that may be delivered in short time.

am I going mad here or what's the story with driving lessons. They cannot practice social distancing, the geometry doesn't favor it!

I saw two cars in my area last night and neither instructor nor customer had so much as a mask.. are they taking temperatures at the beginning of the lesson or something?

    seems very odd

Second building site in Dublin has been shut after what looks like it could be another sizable cluster. I've said it already, seems to be a certain culture amongst the construction sector of simply laughing at this, there is a site near me and many workers go for lunch together with zero social distancing and sit outside talking for up to an hour. Many similar stories across Dublin.

Its about reducing the risk. We should always reduce risk where we can but in some instances we can't.

Not a notion but the day I have to start worrying about that will be the day I just give up altogether.

To be fair to them, the messages are mixed everywhere. The government are saying "Danger" and the a lot of the public are saying "Scaremonger".

You're almost shunned now for believing government information and taking a careful stance.

I bet 5% are like "****, **** must leave one in the car so I don't forget next time". When I walked to the shop last two times I forgot mine...

Whilst at the same time the government is pushing hard for staycations. The average man can't do a thing without being scalded from some direction

What makes you think it will be a sizeable cluster? Reports at the moment are that one person tested positive

Why do people spend so much time reflecting on the actions of people they don't know and will never get to know? Life is far too short to indulge in such pointless judgemental exercises. It's a lot more beneficial for everyone if you try to be a better version of yourself.

Where exactly is this "shunning" happening? I don't see much shunning or people being shunned except on social media and that is a heaving cesspit.
