So UFOs aren't a theory anymore - but we still don't know what they are

We have a good idea of the clarity of classified observational data, because we've seen decades worth of released stuff - it's blurry, grainy, unclear footage. Every time.

    1. Object is unidentified
    2. Certain people assume if it can't be identified it could be "aliens"
    3. Object that gets identified later, never turns out to be an "aliens" (craft)
    4. This repeats thousands of times
    5. Mathematical probability of these objects being "aliens" starts to approach zero

Maths (probability) starts to sort it for us.

The problem is wishful thinking. Apply the same principle to e.g. "Mermaids". Doesn't matter if the US Navy has classified sightings on hundreds of things in the water it can't identify, it doesn't mean any of them are "Mermaids". It's wishful thinking to believe they are. Likewise it's wishful thinking to believe that because the info is classified it must mean it's good footage of a "Mermaid"

Pure conjecture, you have no idea. The compelling witness testimony and the poor nature of anything released has created the conspiracy theory that is slowly unraveling before our eyes.

Apply the same principle to e.g. "Mermaids".

Of course because we investigate Mermaids exactly the same way

UFOs have been subject to investigations over the years that varied widely in scope and scientific rigor. Governments or independent academics in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Japan, Peru, France, Belgium, Sweden, Brazil, Chile, Uruguay, Mexico, Spain, and the Soviet Union are known to have investigated UFO reports at various times. ..Among the best known government studies are the ghost rockets investigation by the Swedish military (1946–1947), Project Blue Book, previously Project Sign and Project Grudge, conducted by the USAF from 1947 until 1969, the secret U.S. Army/Air Force Project Twinkle investigation into green fireballs (1948–1951), the secret USAF Project Blue Book Special Report No. 14[37] by the Battelle Memorial Institute, and the Brazilian Air Force's 1977 Operação Prato (Operation Saucer). France has had an ongoing investigation (GEPAN/SEPRA/GEIPAN) within its space agency Centre national d'études spatiales (CNES) since 1977; the government of Uruguay has had a similar investigation since 1989.

We do have an idea, there has been classified footage, it has been released, it's always grainy/blurry, ergo we have an idea.

There has never been clear footage so it's pure conjecture by you that it exists. Again, wishful thinking.

There's "compelling witness testimony" of ghosts. Thousands of sightings and stories. By professionals, pilots, judges, presidents, you name it. All it demonstrates is that we are very good at making things up/believing things we make up.

All of this is just people investigating stuff that hasn't been identified yet. For the military it's extremely important to identify stuff they can't identify due to the threat from other militaries. Nothing to do with "aliens" or "mermaids" or "Bigfoot". That's just tacked on by people who are engaging in, again, wishful thinking.

Attempting to explain UAP/UFO as potentially being ET is not akin to believing in Bigfoot, fairies or whatever bullshit you try to malign the explanation with.

I dont see any ex-presidents speaking out on fish shaped women sightings or large shaggy beasts.

Irrespective of whether any explanation is "wishful thinking" or not that does not make it false. If that was the case very little new would ever be discovered

there has been classified footage, it has been released, it's always grainy/blurry, ergo we have an idea. There has never been clear footage so it's pure conjecture by you that it exists. Again, wishful thinking.

Up to the New York times article the US gov denied the existence of UFO.

Before the 3 videos were released by the US Navy there was NO video of UAP/UFO and it was denied to exist.

This is the conspiracy theory and when the HD pictures and videos come out we will be in that paradigm.

There are countless unidentified "things" in dashcams, CCTV, cameras, video footage, etc. It just means they are unidentified.

Think. Whenever there is clear footage of things they are all identifiable as man-made or terrestrial. Whenever the footage is unclear, according to some people, it's possibly "aliens". That doesn't make any sense.

I think your passion for aliens/UFOs (nothing wrong with that) is clouding your logic in this. I'd love if intelligent extra-terrestrial life existed and was somehow visiting us (and kept juuuust get caught out of focus) but unfortunately my logic gets in the way of entertaining those kinds of wishful thoughts

Red color and look make me think of wildfires or volcano explosions? Who gave you that boat explanation? To be that bright and seen that high above the clouds you need a lot of boats with the same lights.

Was the pilot maybe flying above the ocean at the time? That would tend to reduce the chances of wildfire or volcano.

Cheerful: "You skeptics are idiots, you'd swallow anything, hook line and sinker. Stop being sheep and think for yourself"

Also Cheerful: "Those lights that have already been explained?.....Yeah, definitely a forest fire or volcano out in the middle of the ocean"

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,245 ✭✭✭Cheerful S

The photo came from Reddit and I think it was a friend who uploaded it. He says his pilot friend was over the Atlantic. You could be over the ocean and just passed land No details to go over the Atlantic ocean doesn't mean the pilot was hundreds of miles away land at the point he took the photograph.

Unless China is now in the Atlantic, there maybe another explantation. It's a valid theory Dohnjoe posted based on what's been observed before, but there could be other explanations for red bright lights on the opposite side of the world. Around the time the photo was allegedly taken, there were large bushfires in Spain and Portugal.

    Its all horse sh*t

Eric Weinstein made perfect sense recently when he said its common knowledge within the community who the world top physicist are , there like 3 or 4 guys on planet who literally are miles ahead of anybody else in the field ,

They truly have an understanding of physics unlike others , None of these guys not even 1 has been contacted & none of the next 20 guys have been contacted in regards to theses UFO's ,

If they are real the government would without question want the opinions of the earths best minds in this field , They haven't its all a smoke screen they know exactly what they are .

  • Registered Users Posts: 17,795 ✭✭✭✭Dohnjoe

I also suspect it's a gravy train government group in the US pulling this lark. At least one of the guys on the team is a full on UFO believer and sensationalist.

If Roswell had really happened, and a craft of unknown origin landed on earth, what would 1947 scientists be capable of doing with a craft with technology that may be beyond the human capability for the next 500 years to 1000 thousand years? There is a craft in hanger somewhere locked away? There will not be this call for scientists from around the world to come have a look if there already is evidence that science cannot be replicated. Why would the United States share details anyway there only going to be more questions than might have answers to. Do you really think upsetting the status quo is a good idea when you do not know the background of what brought that spacecraft to earth? Everyone speculates that the United States knows more than the common man, but maybe they don't.

Video and photographs might have more eyes on the craft in our skies information, but they might not have a clear picture of intentions. If aliens visit the earth, they can modify the rules at any time and appear in a way that is noticed by the public. It is interesting change that the United States is saying that there are objects in the sky that appear to defy our understanding of flight. Take it for what it's worth.

Dr. Nolan is the Rachford and Carlota A. Harris Professor in the Department of Pathology at Stanford University School of Medicine. He trained with Leonard Herzenberg (for his Ph.D.) and Nobelist Dr. David Baltimore (for postdoctoral work for the first cloning/characterization of NF-κB p65/ RelA and the development of rapid retroviral production systems). He has published over 300 research articles and is the holder of 40 US patents, and has been honored as one of the top 25 inventors at Stanford University.

Just a pity he knows as much about aliens as anyone else on the planet, zero in case you're wondering.

Supposedly this great evidence took two years to research.

We are going to discover a new way to look at our past and present, which will create a better understanding of how we can shape our future. This new paradigm of history will allow us to see the world from a different perspective.

It's great news today that a whistleblower has come forward.

    Quote

"A former intelligence official turned whistleblower has given Congress and the Intelligence Community Inspector General extensive classified information about deeply covert programs that he says possess retrieved intact and partially intact craft of non-human origin.

The information, he says, has been illegally withheld from Congress, and he filed a complaint alleging that he suffered illegal retaliation for his confidential disclosures, reported here for the first time.

Other intelligence officials, both active and retired, with knowledge of these programs through their work in various agencies, have independently provided similar, corroborating information, both on and off the record.

The whistleblower, David Charles Grusch, 36, a decorated former combat officer in Afghanistan, is a veteran of the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) and the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO). He served as the reconnaissance office’s representative to the Unidentified Aerial Phenomena Task Force from 2019-2021. From late 2021 to July 2022, he was the NGA’s co-lead for UAP analysis and its representative to the task force.

    ...................

Bring forward classified intelligence to verify this is real is new and crack the whole phenomenon open.It will provide insight into what has been hidden and help to create a more informed public. This could result in a more democratic society, with access to knowledge that was once hidden from view. Probably won't see the same level of transparency with 9/11 and JFK, but it's good that people know what's going on.

The Guardian and the Independent (UK) are now picking up on the David Grusch whistleblower story, could be very significant:

It's funny how a media outlet in nearly every EU country has covered or republished this story in some capacity.

The conservative Irish media is of course silent...

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,211 ✭✭✭emo72

He's put his evidence down on a sworn statement. You can't lie before Congress without risking serious penalties. Take a step back and think, why would he put himself at serious risk of jail? This I think is an opening of the floodgates. He's the first to come forward. There's more people coming through also. This was a massive cover up.

He’s probably telling the truth about what others told him. In an interview he mentioned an incident from the 1930’s in Italy, which is know In UFO lore and isn’t up to much. I wouldn’t be surprised if his sources are Lue Elizondo or others from the same incestuous group.
