And where did you come up with that. Do you someone working with the government or NPHET

Take a look at the business that they are doing. Operating at 50% profits and near all of the original costs if not more.
The honeymoon period of people going to pubs and having pints is about to come to a shuddering halt. Schools are back meaning cost for parents are up and the days of spending Eur 60 instead of Eur 30 on average per pub visit is about to stop.

My local pubs have been ready to open for weeks now... Partitions in place and table service only with contactless payment only or like a restaurant pay bill at the end. The Bar areas are all screened off with perspex.
A lot of money spent on adhering to the recommendations. Some have a booking system in place. If all pubs stick to the guidelines when they do reopen I can’t see it been been any different to having a meal in a restaurant.

Yeah very true and I'd accept it for the short term

Collages seem to be going fully online for the year so that rules out gatherings for freshers/rag week and all that

Wet pubs should be given a chance, every other country has given that

I think it is obvious cases are rising, government threatening another lockdown, there are not going to wake up one morning and decide just to open them up.

Exactly, why open the Pubs when they're a handy scapegoat for the spread of the Virus...

Are they rising due to the pubs, no they are not so i dont know where you are coming up with the idea that they wont open until next year. Another full lockdown wont happen. It will only be by county

There has been no cases in Ireland stemming from restaurants/pubs and we'd hear about it if so

There were 4 clusters from back in March.

If this is true, then it would indicate that the measures we have in place are working. That's good news.

It is in the HSE publication from April/ May. I don't have time to get back through it. One was in Dublin, another in Kerry, another in Westmeath.

More been forced to buy a meal and not just drop in for a few pints is the issue and the limit capacity

Anybody know what the story with Witherspoons is? I find it weird, given their setup and app that they have where you can order from your table, they haven't opened.

Their entire business model is based on x% capacity from opening till closing. With so many people WFH you've essentially eliminated their 3 busiest Mon-Fri slots (breakfast, lunch, 5-7 after work pints). It wouldn't be worth their while opening at the moment.

The meal thing does perhaps make the enforcement a bit easier. I'm aware of one pub that got a ticking off from the guards based upon the meal receipt on the time limits. It probably also somewhat restricts pub crawls to get around time limits, at least theoretically, if everyone has to pony up €9 on top of the drink too?

Once your 2M away from another table you can stay as long as you want

An article quoting Dr Glynn where he states that the priority for the government is opening up the education system and that the remaining "pubs will be shut for weeks at least".
I think rural wet pubs should be allowed open but it isn't going to happen.

That's only some pubs assumption. It's supposed to be the 105 mins regardless.

They didn't even include the link they mention in the post....... I'd safely bet it's just a rehash yesterdays comments....
