These managers can do the circuit rightly - moving from club to club.

Happens a lot regionally examples Cork born mangers managing in Waterford/Kerry, Limerick born managers managing in Clare/Galway etc

Lot of Clare lads have managed in Limerick recently too. Think Kinnerick is actually back living in Clare, afaik, his parents are from Clare. Makes sense when you see how close the hurling areas of both counties are to each other.

(I've seen arguments na Piarsaigh is a quasi-Clare club due to the boundary, to which the only response is to remind Clare people Limerick used to extend out to Cratloe, so really Cratloe is a quasi-Limerick club...)

Cratloe maybe as plenty living out there are Limerick people who moved out that way or their kids who grew up with the city as their main hub
But I wouldn't say there is many from Clare in NaP again maybe Limerick people who live over the border but not much else

    4. Daithi Burke
    5. Diarmuid byrnes
    6. Tadgh de Burca
    7 Kyle Hayes
    8 Jamie Barron
    9 cian lynch
    10 gearoid Hegarty
    11 tj reid
    12 Tom Morrissey
    13 Tony kelly
    14 Stephen Bennett
    15 Aaron gillane

    Hurler of year Gearoid Hegarty

If Lynch can be picked as a half forward then WOD should get one.
All Stars usually have a formula though so Limerick will get 7 or 8 max so I think that will go against a few lads

In a normal year I'd say you're correct that 7 or 8 would be the max, but, Limerick were very dominant this year and not many on other teams really stood out, so, wouldn't really be surprised if they did get 9, but, that would be the most I'd see them getting.

How come Calum Lyons is not up for YPOTY ?. Surprised too see Daly get the nomination instead

I'm pretty sure it's only for under 21. Daly is a surprise but not too many young hurlers were playing this year off the top of my head.

    Not sure about Gillane.

I think WOD should get a midfield berth.

I agree with your HOTH and YHOTH.

Ya I’m not even 100% myself about gillane

And to me there’s nothing between wod & Barron. Wouldn’t argue with either getting it

I agree - a lot to do with optics and trying to share a few All-Stars around the beaten finalists and semi-finalists etc.

A lot also to do with where they put TK, in the corner or mid-field and then the outworkings of that for the other players/positions.

I'm not 100% will Cian Lynch get one, probably more chance than Gillane but hard to know.

Can't see how you'd think cathal mannion would be deserving of an all star tbh. If Galway are to get one, it'll be daithi Burke.

I know you said it was a quick pick off the top of your head, but imo, I can't see mannion getting one.

Hegarthy is nailed on HOTY. He might have been on more trouble for that award if tom morrissey was nominated for it as well as it could have split the Limerick vote imo.

TBH outside of Limerick and Waterford I couldn't think of anyone other than Reid and Kelly who was that good this year as most teams had very forgettable seasons but for some reason he popped into my head as a player who got a lot of mention.

Hegarty for hurler of the year ide say but the way Limerick play as a unit picking a single player out isnt easy.

Young hurler is a tough one as I didn't think there was any real stand out young player this year

Would be nice to see a good review of the season on TV but I couldn't find anything
