Brilliant stuff, didn't believe the government had the balls to do this but it makes total sense. The hospitals are nearly empty. Time to stop the nonsense and get back to some sort of life rather than cowering away in fear.

My grandparents are grown adults, one a retired Garda and the other a retired nurse. Both would be considered high risk due to health conditions, my grandfather has had two strokes and skin cancer and my grandmother has extremely high blood pressure and arthritis. My grandfather's has gone for a 10km walk every day since March as he has done for years and my grandmother was one of the first in the queue for Woodies and gardening centres.

They were never going to listen to any patronising nanny state crap about "cocooning".

God almighty, fair play to them, glad they managed to evade the virus with all their ailments :) Yeah, older people are made of tough stuff. My mum and dad just want to go for a spin down towards Castletownbere (says my dad, cos it's the closest to Kerry border without going into another county:pac:). Everything that he enjoys - horse racing (it's back now), GAA, singing in his choir has been taken away from him over the last few months, so great that they might finally be able to take off for a drive in the good weather (hopefully it picks up again).

According to our HSE officials the cancer patients are less important than COVID-19 patients. They should know better than us!

Most in the area fully agree with a temporary pause. We should see something about that soon enough.

there is a "thank you frontline workers" movement,
why there is no "respect the elderly" as they were in much worse conditions then the rest of us? (no essential medical treatments, stay inside the house)

He hasn't announced anything yet - does anyone know if it's 4PM or 5:30PM we can expect it?

Thought he was particularly dreadful there. Like a dying wasp. A complete and utter tool, even FG had to get rid of him

Wtf shops can’t reopen until 10.30am? Logic would dictate the longer hours the open=less crowding. What kind of donkeys dream up this stuff?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,977 ✭✭✭TheDoctor

Bars with food on June 29th

To avoid crowding on public transport for people commuting to work in the mornings. Thought that was clear
