Jaysus that is the most positive news in ages, delighted to hear all of that. It will actually feel strange being able to do some of these things again! Hopefully all goes well and cases stay low.

My hot lockdown take is public libraries are essential and should have remained open the whole time

Personal service shops like hairdressers still in phase 4 (20 July).

Yeah you'd imagine that libraries would be pretty low risk....they could have had just no in-library reading or whatever, just open for taking out books etc.

Absolutely not - a load of books being thumbed with dirty hands and passed back to the library then on to others?

Leo's logic for that is because you spend over 30 minutes almost face to face with another person. Clearly he doesn't use my barber. 10min max and 5 min if there is a big queue.

That would encourage people to congregate. Same reason they want shopping centres to remove things like seating areas, food courts etc

Apologies, wasn't aware I couldn't dislike Harris because he has Crohn's.

I feel like a child in a toy shop today

That was never an option. Anything indoors is a problem, it's where the virus mostly spreads. People talking indoors is a particular problem, and while libraries don't/shouldn't see that as a big problem, staff have to be protected also.

There was also the question about whether the virus spreads on surfaces, so exchanging books might not be a great idea (again would staff need to wear PPE?). We know more every day.

I assume gyms will be July 20th?

People can spend a lot of time sitting in libraries as well.

Lol lockdown merchants must be very upset.

Country is mostly opened 29 June, TOURISM WELCOME.

Lets welcome the tourists in all seriousness, they ll have more money than locals.

Unable to watch this, but anything mentioned about what this means regards 14 day quarantine coming in to country?

I guess there had to be a disappointment included somewhere.

The positives from what the government have displayed today though is that there is now legitimate hope that they may move on that in the next few weeks.
It's pretty much nonsense when you see Europe have been able to have these for months by then, some decent lobbying from the industry should bring it forward.

No, but that's up for review on June 18 anyway.

Same as myself in and out in less than 15 minutes - I usually have enough on than to be wasting any more time necessary on the job of getting the haircut.

Simon's attitude annoys me. His whole thing seems to be that they're giving us something we should be appreciative of, rather than the reality that they are simply removing restrictions to freedoms we already had.

I guess what I'm looking for is free access to the internet. I've been in there before while people are looking online for jobs and housing and it's their only option

Are you going to a barber or a sheep shearer?

On July 20 you won't be able to find one or the other!
