I wish. Isn’t it too soon? I‘ve prepared myself for a wait, at least until the end of June.

  • Registered Users Posts: 25 Orchid1

Probably, I’ve no idea how long it might take . The wait continues!

Generally takes about 3 weeks for the results so enjoy this time before the anxious “will it be today” begins

Heya, yeah I think last time it was 3-4 weeks. Not sure how many applied but likely a significant volume.

Do we get a notification to log into public jobs or an email advising of our scores?

How soon after the test results are released can we expect to hear anything about interviews?

Yeah you’ll get an email saying there is a message in public jobs for you and that’ll give you all the details you need about scores and next steps etc. Not a lot of detail mind, but it’ll tell you what you need to know.

Be prepared for a really drawn out process if you are successful, it took 6 months from initial application deadline till appointment before COVID for some grades.

Going by the 2018 AP thread (which you should have a good read of it's got great information and tips) depending on your ranking you could be waiting upwards of a year.

I'd suggest putting text and email alerts from PAS switched on and you wont miss out when the updates come in.

Could be this week- AP Tax specialist had to complete tests by 18/05 and results were out 25/05... We had to comeplete by 4th as it was extended so that will be two weekson Thursday..

Yeah I should have clarified the drawn out process was for all the stages after the apptitude test results are released.

PAS generally don't release aptitudue tests for a minimum 2 to 3 weeks.

Revenue seem to do their own thing when it comes to competitions so I wouldnt be suprised if they were quicker than a PAS run AP competition.

As a public service post patience will be required not only for recruitment but for occupancy of the role.

Good things come to those who wait. Plus having it drawn out reduces pressure, allows optimum performance and reduces suspicion on the part of current employers

I just wish they could tell us ...All I'm doing is thinking about it every day.

My guess - sometime towards the end of next week. Like around 25 or 26 June.

    As I say, it's just a guess - I haven't rung PAS or anything :)

My advice for any of these competitions is to after applying, to try to forget about it for a while...you will get an email notification of any messages!

Stressing is like been on a rocking chair...it give you something to do yet gets you nowhere

    +1 to this.
It gets easier the more comps you enter its more of a pleasant surprise if you hear sooner than expected.

And the killer is always the text message saying... you have a message. You usually get it in the middle of something you can’t walk away from so you’re sitting there sweating until you can log on to PAS and check.

And once you log in it takes forever to actually get to the message and open it.

Took 23 days from the closure of the Tests to the results

Testing finished 20 December and results issued 12 January 2017

I'd say like previous posted - next Thurs/Friday

    And 2nd October 2018 to 25th October 2018.

    3-6weeks is pretty normal.
With a pandemic, summer, a new government and a probable looming embargo they may not be in much of a rush.

(It’ll probably be out in an hour to spite me)

I had an impression ( from the other competitions) that they are sending messages at the end of the working day, I always received them after 5 pm as it was the last task of their day.

This is going back a few years and maybe they don't do it anymore but they used to send the unsuccessful messages out an hour or two before the successful results.
It gave the unsuccessful candidate time to either come up with a story like "oh I passed but came far down the pecking order" or just leave the office at 4 on the button to avoid those awkward chats!

really?? I never noticed that. Will be on the look out now and check on here before I open my message to try and guess which category I fall into!
    ugh must be this week...
just gone through my old PAS messages and recently the trend has been pre-lunchtime messages.

Now that’s interesting. And as there is not much to do while waiting for results, I checked all my previous messages on public jobs board. I participated in 5 completions , I was successful in 2 , unsuccessful in 2 and 1 successful but way too far on panel to be called to 2nd stage.
Now, the messages for successful ones
were both received at 17.20. Unsuccessful ones around 4 pm. That must be jut the coincidence, but it’s still interesting and confirms your theory.

Just checked mine too. It's been a slow day. Can see no pattern here. So could be any time any day. :D

best of luck with that meeting. Hopefully, you can stretch your situation in your current role to get you through the various stages of this competition. It is a long process but it always feels like a big win to get through to the next stage!

Goodluck with your meeting. These comps can be super long times of living in hope. I wouldn't put off any other opportunities in the meantime as they can certainly drag on and even once placed on a panel it can be quite a wait to get appointed before the panel expires.
