There's a school up the road (mount Anville) here in D14 who had a year over in Italy skiing last week. I wonder what precautions they've taken or they realise how serious this is?

I believe the Mount Anville students are staying home from school. Muckross Park College in D6 were also on the trip and all students and staff are in school

Unfortunately, as mentioned above, I've been told by someone directly connected that one of the school kids in Bray is confirmed. Is in isolation now, apparently.

This was absolutely inevitable. Flights are still coming in from infected countries. Considering it can be days/weeks before symptoms even appear (if any), there's no reason the virus won't be widespread. I think the question is how much damage it will end up doing. That's the unknown for now.

To be clear this is a completely unreliable source

Heard from a friend who is a dispatcher in NEOC (HSE ambulance control) that they're inundated with calls and "possible cases" today.

All being told to stay at home and self isolate. Hospitals do not want them.

Haven't heard of anything confirmed yet.

Just got a WhatsApp there alright. Pictures & video

Hospitals are right. Just bring the serious cases in

And drop the serious ones off at Massey's.

No, 9 to 12 months. The FDA will fast track it.
The FDA also today, expressed concerns on any rush to test it on humans too quickly. 12mths minimum likely before mass production.

5th post and it's with breaking news!

Do they think he got it in Italy or in Castlebar when they had a case earlier this evening for about 10 minutes?

It depends on the mechanism of action of the vaccine. By all accounts, what moderna have developed is similar in action to other vaccines out there. This reduces trial time considerably if so.

Well someone just said most people are being told to self isolate rather than come in, seems like there's no testing going on until someone gets serious.

At my local Chinese store. Got 5 Kg of rice and half a Kg of two types of beans. Hot chilli sauce as well . Have about 4Kg of mixture of mung dhal, red beans and black bean. Pasta, potatoes and frozen burgers as well. Few other items at smaller scale
