Microchip Technology inc. are in for a good few years ahead. With the incoming surge in home automation and IoT they are well set up for this and will reap huge rewards.

Do you mean 'Microchip (MCHP)' or the microchip technology industry?

For those who continue to ask, "why is the stock market not tanking with the job losses and recession on the way", here's a nice image to show what the market would look like without FAANG. It's basically 5 companies who have balaneced out the losses of the other 495 companies. Kinda reflective of the real world shift from Shops to Amazon, Cinemas to Nteflix etc

Yeah, and even before the crisis the disconnect between the few top tech stocks and the rest of the S&P was massive (basically almost 50% of the S&P’s gains of the past few years come from just 5 companies).

This chart is a good representation of why I've made f'all since starting to seriously invest back in April, my main problem at the time was viewing FAANG as overvalued considering they hadn't dropped much.

Siemens Healthineers in advanced talks to buy Varian for $15 billion

It's public knowledge but if the deal goes through I presume Varian share price would jump significantly.

Agreed price of $177.50, so unless you already hold Varian shares you are unlikely to be able to benefit, they should open tomorrow around the $177 mark, buyers over the last week have made a nice few bob.

    Today's nifty fifty...

But remember that you don't need to hold any of them to make money....

Change of tack - I see SPCE dropping. I've gone in it with a buy order for $16.20. Neither a long term hold or a day trade.

While the Dragon crew is Tesla owned, I think a successful return of the Dragon module with it's crew end of July/Early August will see SPCE skike also.

Interesting to see how SPCE performs tomorrow. Currently $22.45.

Thanks for that graph. Really hammers home the dominance of a few large players, we all knew it to be the case but helpful to see the scale of it. Have most of my money in an SNP 500 tracker at the moment but gonna lighten up on it soon, surely a correction due soon.

Microsoft having a strong day, must be the talk of the Tiktok acquisition.

Can someone check to see if IAG (airline) and Edsa are still trading under their profile on DeGiro? I cannot trade them currently. Neither are they showing up on a search. It would be appreciated.

by the way, the guy that tipped me to AMD back in 2018, has said he is seriously looking at $UMC now. He doesnt mess around when it comes to investing in these companies (he's mentioning putting 5 figures into them now), he has religoulsy stuck to 4-5 in that sector for years and has done very well from them

2.80 to 4.20$ in about a week! Have 500 shares that I'm happy to sit on longterm.

Is this available on Degiro, can't find the ticker.

    Bizarre.

Have you taken the new 'appropriateness test' yet on Degiro - it's in settings. If you don't take it (and pass it) you may be prohibited from trading some products.
