Are RTE showing a double episode on Wednesday or just taking the piss to the extreme with ad breaks?

BBC listing for Monday at 9pm for 1 hour, RTE listing for Wednesday for 9:35pm to 11:55 pm

BBC are showing two episodes one Monday and one Tuesday and RTE are showing them as one double episode.

I wouldn’t watch it on RTE if I could watch it on BBC.
At this stage I’m afraid of the “Eimearnator” and the Tongan Haka...

I'm going to go with BBC, at least there won't be any bloody ad breaks.

None other than Varys himself in it (Conleth Hill) :D

Seeing Lord Varys with hair and a tie and swearing is surreal.

Going down the netflix route io unnecessarily adding music to try and create tension

I'm assuming Killian Scott's character in the novel has an English accent? Seems pointless considering he is a dub playing a detective in a drama set in Dublin

Decent so far. Good acting. Slow paced

Finding it hard to take this seriously, half of red rock, a few from love hate, and fair city..

And it also seems like its trying waaay too hard to be edgy...and failing.

Why are they both armed with guns?

I was wondering why he was cast as as English ..it does seem odd.

In what way is it trying to be edgy?

The dodgy music, the birds caawing around the forest like vultures, sniffing the tshirt

Its all just a bit forced or something,.

Who's the actor playing Katies father?

This is why we don't want wolves in our forests! :D

I wouldn't say it's trying to be edgy. It's using some fairly tired and overused editing though to create a bit of drama, tension etc rather than rely on plot

Yes, in the book he had lived in the UK, and developed a British accent but was originally Irish

Peter McDonald I think... he was in moon boy and a few other Irish movies and TV shows.

I missed the first few minutes and reckon it was probably important, feel a bit lost with it

Because they are detectives... odd back then for Irish detectives to wear hip holsters it normally would be a shoulder strap.

Cliche after cliche after cliche after...
Stereotype after stereotype after stereotype after...
And that female lead is behaving as though she doesn't want to be in the show.
It's been an awful long time since there was anything fresh in crime drama.
