I agree with that. Was just pointing out that someone can't just say with certainty that Wonderboy would knock him out, when he got KO'd by Pettis himself.

I agree that Conor is not built for WW. But using Aldo as evidence of that is silly imo.
Those Aldo fights were 4 years apart. Between those two fights Pettis lost to Max at 145 and beat Wonderboy at 170.

He's closer to 6ft than he is to Aldo who is billed as being 5"7. Look back at the faceoffs for his Aldo fight and you can see that McGregor is clearly more than 3" taller.

He is in his hole, he's about 5"8 at a push.

Colby's ego? He doesn't care about putting on a performance. Most of his wins are by shutting people down and making them tired. When was his last finish?
He'd clinch and grind Conor down for 5 rounds if he thinks that's the easiest path to victory. He would have done it to Usman, if he could.

The goat Khabib calling this fight the minor leagues.

Slating both Cowboy and McGregor. Saying cowboy has lost 8 of his last 10 fight and McGregor hasn't won a fight in 4 years. Hard to argue with that assesment.

It's quite easy to argue with that assessment, he won a fight in November 2016.

Khabib said he's going into his 4th year without a win. Considering he's had 1 fight since then it's not much of a point.

Plus, Cowboy only lost 6 in his last 10. Which while it isn't great it's not as bad as 8 in 10, plus it ignore the 4 wins in a row just before that.

Prior to the last 18months/2 years Khabib wasn't exactly an active fighter.

If you are 6'1. Then you are a good bit taller than lads who are who are 5'10 as well tbf.

Most lads struggle to get their own height right (among other things

). And tend to exaggerate differences with others. Plus the whole variation caused by rounded.

Khabib is taller. By about an inch or so.
Cowboy is slightly exaggerated at 6'1 imo. But regardless of the exact number. He's about 3" taller.
Conor has a slightly longer reach

I'd expect most MMA fans recognize the nonsense of the saying Cowboy has lost 8 of his last 10 fights. For 8 losses you need to go back 24 fights.

And sure, that win rate might not be amazing. But if we're only go back as far at his 3 consecutive losses in 2017 to present it as poorly as possible. We should also include the fact those losses were Jorge Masvidal, Robbie Lawlor, and Darren Till.

As much as I think it's a soft fight for McGregor, Cowboy's losses aren't exactly against bums... there's a good few losses against guys that I don't think McGregor would beat.

Exactly. And lost 1 fight and very narrowly won the other. A better fighter - ie not a punchbag like Nate - would've easily stopped Conor in the mid rounds in the 2nd fight.

If he was fighting Cowboy at 155 would you be less worried?

Cowboy fought at 155 only 3 months ago. He's not gonna be able to put on a huge amount of weight despite this fight being at 170.

That punchbag nate absolutely punched the head off cerrone when they fought, so I wouldn't be downplaying the relevance of how well mcgregor was able to outbox and hurt the bigger man in that second fight (well both fights to be fair, it was far from a skill issue that was his downfall first time out).

I don't think McGregor could have asked for a better ranked opponent to give him the chance to put on the sort of showcase performance that would make him leapfrogging gaethje for a title shot a little more palatable for most.

Have a feeling he'll win in spectacular fashion.

You were talking about the height of fighters he had face previously, mainly at 145. Cowboy is 6ft whether this is at 155 or 170.
His weight won't be significantly different in either case. He's cut to 155 and rehydrate back up usually. In this case, Cowboy simply won't be cutting as much.

No. Those guys are welterweights.
Cowboy and Conor are Lightweights.

Cowboy is 6ft regardless, he doesn't shrink in height with the weight cut to 155

Something people can't quite grasp, this is just a lightweight fight without the weight cut, or at least without as big a weight cut.
