    This might help.
They refer to openVix but the same technique would apply to all images

Im getting error (failed to tuner saorview on tuner C), cant understand what im doing wrong.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,990 ✭✭✭greasepalm

do you have an aerial plugged in and tuner setup, has channel moved as error would be there if so?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 100 ✭✭kierc

I do indeed, it seems i must scan the tuner (Saorview) separately.

Maybe a mod could move the last few posts to the Tiviar alpha thread as it's not really relevant to Formuler F1 owners

Double check that it is configured as a terrestrial tuner rather than cable which would scan the wrong frequencies.
    SETUP>SERVICE SEARCHING>TUNER CONFIG
It should be set as DVB-T2 and select Europe as country
    From the same menu
    SETUP>SERVICE SEARCHING>
you can then do an automatic scan or manual if you know your local Saorview frequencies

Making some progress here. Downloading Autobouquets has simplified the chanel listings. I would like to have the saorview channels in the "Entertainment" bouquet with the sta chanels of BBC, ITV,etc. They don't seem to be in any of the bouquets currently, only accessible under "provider" category. Is there a way to add them to the Entertainment bouquet?

Most straight forward way is to pull up the saorview channel list, highlight the first channel and press the menu button-chose add to bouquet option then select the Entertainment bouquet from the list, rinse and repeat for the rest of the channels you want to move.

Just thought I'd post this here, in case anyone else is having similar problems.

I've had the Formuler F1 for several months now, works great, really happy with it.
However I could never update the box, install plugins etc. from the UI.
"No internet access" error appeared every time, even though a network test gave green lights all the way.
Now, wasn't a big problem as the web interface still allowed everything to be done. Recently purchased a Tivar for my folks and found exactly the same error when setting it up.

Just discovered the problem was I was blocking Google DNS on my router (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4). OpenVix obviously pings it, with no response assumes there's a problem.
As soon as I unblocked Google DNS on the router, can update and browse plugins through the box UI!

    Anyway, hopefully this helps someone.

Hi lads. I'm thinking about getting one of these. I clicked on the links in the first page but WOS site says "product not found". Have they been discontinued?

Not sure, there's another similar box available, Tiviar alpha.

Yes, they have replaced them with the Tiviar Alpha which is an amazing box for the price

    Thanks. That looks perfect.

Just two questions as I realise it's the Formuler thread and I don't want to derail it.

Which is the best firmware option as I'm not familiar with them , Enigma 2, Open VIX or OpenATV?

Is there a forum for noobs as a lot of the jargon is all french to me?

The High Horse Brigade has posted a download of his set up in that thread (based on Open ATV) which will just need minor tweaks to personalise - that's where I'm planning starting, if I decide on that box

Is there a way to change or re-organize the order of the channels within a bouquet, e.g. "entertainment" ? For example, RTE is 305, BBC is 101 and I would love to have them in RTE,BBC,ITV,Channel 4 etc order.

Yes. Pain in the ass to do manually so best bet is to use a computer programme. I use e-channelizer and find it great but lots of others.

If you are only moving a few the on screen method is simple but tedious.
Open the bouquet you want to edit on screen. Press MENU and select ENABLE MOVE MODE. Highlight the channel you want to move and hit OK. Use up/down buttons to move to required location and hit OK again. Repeat this with any other channels you like. When finished press MENU again and select DISABLE MOVE MODE

Slightly unrelated query but everyone here seems knowledgeable and helpful

I have my Formuler box set up and working well thanks to all the advice

But not it turns out that we need to be able to watch content from the box (TV and recordings) in a different TV in the house, we only have wiring to the room where the box is set up and don't want to run more

Would something like a HDMI Transmitter and Receiver be suitable, this type of thing?
    https://www.amazon.co.uk/Nyrius-Wireless-Transmitter-Projector-NPCS600-Black/dp/B0092T3E3A/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?ie=UTF8&qid=1526658591&sr=8-1-spons&keywords=hdmi+transmitter+and+receiver&psc=1

Although I don't think you can control the box through one of those?

An android box running an app called Dream Epg Premium would work. Would stream over wifi as long as your enigma box is plugged into your router.

Thanks, will try that later and see if it does the trick

    Certainly a cheaper alternative

Run a mile from adding a video sender if you want to keep your wifi working ok. Use your existing wifi and get an app as suggested.

    Thanks lads

I have an Nvidea Shield that I use for Kodi that I was moving into this room anyway

Dream Player for Android TV has been installed and works perfectly, currently watching the FA Cup in the new room no bother and it also plays recordings from the box perfectly

Any one having problems opening openwebif. I'm not getting any EPG on the Formuler F1 either.

Check the settings inopenwebif in plugins. You need the ip of the box. If you're not connecting from outside your network set it to port 80 with authentication off

What are you using for EPG? CrossEPG? Have you checked the settings?

http 80 authentication off as for EPG I press guide on control, a lot of the guide has reappeared.
    I'm connected 192.168.1.8

You can connect to the box using that ip in your browser.

You'll have to have a look at Crossepg settings to see why it's not downloading. Make sure it's set to your storage, not the internal flash as that can cause crashes and glitches. Set it to opentv Uk and do a download. This will pull the epg from satellite then convert it and save it to your storage. I usually have mine set to automatically run during the night

Put in 192.186.1.8 into web browser and webif did not show.
I deleted the one that I was logging into thinking that I would get the new one to work.
