Put in 192.186.1.8 into web browser and webif did not show.
I deleted the one that I was logging into thinking that I would get the new one to work.

Make sure your box is connected to your network and that the ip of your box didn't change, check in menu -> setup -> system -> network -> device setup -> adapter settings

common issue with ip changing and having to reboot router and box and even restarting network on box and i always run a network test to see if all are green.

The High Horse Brigade I did what you suggested and the IP shows as 192.186.1.5

If it changed once it's possible it will keep changing. To get around this you can set a static IP but you'll need to use an IP outside the pool of IP addressees your router is giving them out from. Looks like your router is giving out low numbers so you could give the static Ip of 192.168.1.250

Need help I'm missing RTE1 & e4(Saorview) on my Formuler F1 and its not a problem with the transmission as they are on the other box's I have tuned in other room.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,574 ✭✭✭Gerry Wicklow

E4 is not on Saorview. Saorview is only the Irish channels from a normal aerial. If you are missing RTÉ1 there is a problem with that end of things. On the other hand E4 and Film4+1 have changed to different transponders on the satellite. See here for more info on this.

Gerry Got Film4+1 and E4 back. I tried a different location to retune Saorview and it did not find RTE1 either. It appears I may have a problem with the Formuler box as RTE1 is on my other boxs. Is there any way I can check.

Try MENU>SETUP>SERVICE SEARCHING>SIGNAL FINDER> highlight the line for tuner and use the left/right buttons to select the DVB-T2 tuner. In my case its tuner C
Then go down to the CHANNEL section and enter your local Saorview channel numbers to see what kind of signal strength you are getting on both channels. In my case Cairn Hill uses channel 44 and channel 47. Use the Saorview site to check your local frequencies if you don't know them already.

    Checked signal strength ch48 39% ch55 31%

To me it sounds too low.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,006 ✭✭✭martin6651

    channels back today

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,990 ✭✭✭greasepalm

What signal levels now as back and working?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,006 ✭✭✭martin6651

I dont believe it but RTE1 gone again. Tried this MENU>SETUP>SERVICE SEARCHING>SIGNAL FINDER> highlight the line for tuner and use the left/right buttons to select the DVB-T2 tuner. In my case its tuner C. The channel section would not appear as it did before so I cant check signal strength.

Could your line of sight have issues, mine has big dam tree and using an indoor aerial now.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,006 ✭✭✭martin6651

I dont think so as I'm getting rte2,tg4&tv3 no problem. Aerial is on the chimney pointed at Maghera across Galway bay no high building near me.

Martin them levels sound borderline to me. It is quite common for people to get very different results between the two muxes. You'll see several mentions of this in the terrestrial forum, ".....I've perfect RTÉ1 but no RTÉ2....."
Unlike the old analogue days when a weak signal gave a rougher but still viewable picture, with digital its all or nothing. Have you tried another known working Tv or box in that room to see how it behaves? Also different devices can have different sensitivities. You may find a box that works grand in a particular room but the TV wont get a signal or vice versa.

Now All my terrestrial channels are gone on my other box's.

The principle of Ockham's razor may apply here - the simplest answer is probably the correct one!
Check everything before the Formuler - antenna (aerial) direction and polarity, connections, cable, splitters etc. If signal to all TV's gone, it's not the Formuler box.

If you have a TV with a Saorview tuner, check using this like Gerry suggests.

    HTH.

All channels back today. Tried what Gerry suggested to get signal strength it worked the 1st time but cant get it to show channel to enable me to change to local channels ie 48 and 55. When I switch channels on the bottom of screen appears ABC(c highlighted) SNR 32% for RTE1 and SNR 42% for RTE2/TG4/TV3

You need to increase signal, it's borderline, is dropping in and out depending on atmospheric conditions

So how would I go about increasing signal ?

Get a professional who has the expertise and tools to diagnose where the issue is. Everything else that's been suggested here is guesswork.

I sometimes experience issues with the timeshift buffer file not auto deleting when I change channel, or turn the box off. The only way I've been able to delete them is to access the box via the Local --> Network Neighbourhood on my phone. I can't see the files at all using WebIf. I don't have it set to auto save the timeshift, and most of the time, it works OK. Does anyone know if there is another way to delete these files, or an option I can check to make sure they are always removed? Randomly, the box doesn't appear in the Network Neighbourhood area, so I'd like an alternative, if there is one.

You should have a plugin called "dreamexplorer" which is a basic file explorer. It's normally installed by default.

Thanks, I'll give that a go. I have the basic features of the box working, but there is so much extra, that I am still learning about!

Where are you located? Maghera may not be the best transmitter to aim for?
Check the Saorview coverage checker - http://coverage.2rn.ie/

I'm in Galway City. Maghera has always been the transmitter(worked in the industry for many years) used to get signals if you lived in Galway.
