Just received this, no way is this correct

From Three: You've reached your Flexi-Units allowance. You'll now be charged 34.56c/min for Republic of Ireland and EU calls# 17.28c/text until next bill date

Just got a bill for 450 euro. Sneaky feckers were trying to charge me for early termination of contract

Hi all looking for some help. I never received any letter from 3 about the price increase . i have two phone contracts with them and paid the bills today only to realise it was 5€ more than usual then I saw this thread . I contacted 3 on Twitter and they said nothing I can do without being penalised as it was a 30 day window. This does not seem right to me, any suggestions? Thanks !

I'd say comreg is your best bet: https://www.comreg.ie/consumer-services/mobile-phone/contracts-2/

But you'll need to be up for a fight, and have your information all lined up - three have a valid address, etc

Three sent text messages as well as the letter. Did you not get the text messages too?

    Thanks guys.
@JTMan No I didn't receive a text on either of my numbers and Three never mentioned sending a text. I actually said to their rep it was surprising they didn't send a text or email as well as the letter.

As far as I know, the old O2 customers got texts. I didn't get a text, just a letter a week after I had already cancelled.

Depending on the rep you talk to, they may know nothing. Its the same with any call centre, they can go through staff quickly.

    Something about sandwiches

I was on the three online chat to a rep and was enquiring about switching to the 30 day sim only plan, and he told me i don't have the right SIM card! Was he telling porkies or is this a thing?
I've a nano-SIM that starts with something like 8735302 and it should start with 8735305 (I think they're the numbers, off the top of my head). So now I've to go into the shop and get a new SIM if I want to stay on Three. I'm kinda leaning towards Vodafone now, as apparently Three are changing from 30 day plans to 28 day plans, meaning you're paying what is probably another months bill per year.

If going from contract to PAYG, you need a new SIM, afaik. Contract to SIM only, you can keep the same SIM.

No i'm going from contract to sim only and i was told i need a new sim as well. I only received my current sim last october so its not like it is ancient.

I'm going from 30 day contract (ex-O2) to another 30 day contract. I got the nano-SIM last year so it has 4G and all that. Just a pain that if I stay with 3, I'll have to do it in-store, which requires me bringing up photo ID, and a bill and whatever else they want.

I was told that as well, but they have another team who can do it over the phone. Did it for my wifes phone 2 days ago when i called.
At first they said need a new sim, but when i queried as i had done simmilar without the need last month, they forwarded me onto other team.

Do you have to get a text or a letter to be able cancel?

You should get a notification should you be eligible, but cant hurt calling to verify if you haven't and you feel you should have been contacted.

I signed up the 2nd of April on a 55 euro per month contract. They put up price the following day. Said it was in terms and conditions that they can increase price. Needless to say I'm not impressed

Probably screwed but no reason not to put in a formal complaint and follow up with comreg. If comreg get enough complaints that letters weren't received they may start believing you.

Looks like you joined after they announced the terms and conditions of contract were going to change. If it was in a shop they should have told you.You could complain a little that they werent upfront about that part to you and see if they might give you some credit for that?

I joined online. No mention anywhere of price increase. If €55 wasn't on every peace of correspondence from them I wouldn't mind. I did ask her about good will bit said no. I will contact Comreg to see if anything I can do.
I am just raging as reception not good and if I knew I was going to have to pay 60 a month I would have just went with Vodafone who have better reception

If you signed up online AT 55/month, this is the screen you see after selecting your plan.

keep complaining about reception, and maybe the product doesnt live up to the expectation, i.e. not good for purpose. Not sure you can be tied into a contract if the service you are getting is not up to standard expected/accepted as normal.

But welcome to 3. Try moving to Dublin if things dont work out with getting out of contract, or getting some credit for a lesser service than expected.

I'd still complain. There should have been a checkbox at the bottom of the page to prevent you going to the next page before you check it to say that you agree to those T&C's. I suspect that it could be argued that the only T&C's that were agreed to where the ones for 55/month.

That price increase page didn't come up at all. They told me I agreed in terms and conditions. I've read through them and there wrong as far as I can see. It states they need to give 30 days notice. I've a solicitor friend reading through them for me. I went on chat again about it Friday and they told me to call up. I've not had a minute to but will call them tmrw. I won't leave this go.
    Thanks for responses:)
