Oh well. Didn't think I'd be that lucky anyway.

Just out of curiosity, my 24 month contract is up in July, so if I upgrade to get a new phone now, does that mean I'm signing up to a new 24 month contract or can I let it off til July and change/cancel my contract??

I've been trying to get a clear answer form Three but they are god awful impossible to deal with

Upgrading enters you into a new 24 month contract. You can wait until July and cancel or do what you want. 3 give upgrades 3 months early to keep you tied in to a contract.

Plus the new contract doesn't start straight away you have the new phone but still have to finish off the last three months of the old contract before the count down starts on the new one.

What are the current best offers for pay as you go SIM cards.?
4g, good data 5-10gig, good roaming, good coverage. Texts.
I was with the the 20 euro ask you can eat data etc from 3, so looking for something similar? Was decent except for the coverage and scatty 4g outside of Dublin.
I know some were mentioned before somewhere but I can't find it now?

Does Vodafone have anything decent coz they seem to have best coverage from what people say?

I've tried them all. VF are, and have always been (for me at least) bullet proof re:coverage*

*Dublin based 99% of the time.

I'm in the same boat. Looking around for the best deal.

Vodafone are doing a decent SIM only plan:
    http://www.vodafone.ie/sim-only-plans/
    €360 per year (all calls/text + 5GB/10GB)

There's 2 options. 12 month contract or 30 day rolling contract.
Both are €360 per year. The 30 day contract gives you 5GB, and the year one gives you 10GB.

You know 3 have a €30 unlimited 30 day one that doesn't require you to change anything.

Signed back up with the devil on Saturday. Samsung S8 Plus. She's a beaut. Apart from the ridiculous placement of the fingerprint scanner.

the 3 €30 unlimited 30 day gives unlimited data and 2GB of roaming data. I cant see the attraction of that vodafone 30 day contract at all. the 12 month one doesnt give enough extra to tie you down for 12 months.

I'm a customer at least 8 years on my current contract.

You'll probably get a text shortly Meteor stated to send them, plans going up by €5, won't effect anyone who signed up after 26th of march 2016 I think.
Time for a new bargain alert thread.

Is this the one you mean?
    http://www.three.ie/eshop/sim-only-plans/bill-pay-sim-only/

Ye I might stick with that one. I just had it in me head that I'd have to leave 3.

I also saw people complaining about 3 trying to skirt around that EU roaming law with a loophole that would give you no data abroad, whereas the Vodafone one seems to give you the full amount in both the EU and USA/Canada. It's not a major deal but it's nice to have the option.
So all things being equal, with Vodafone you get better reception and more data for the same price. And am I imagining it, or do they do something with Sky Sports?

Yea that's the one just call customer care or go to a shop and they'll sort it, they've loads of offers to get you to stay best off go talk to someone and see what deal they'll do you.

Yeah that is the sim only plan i am moving to when my 30 day notice expires. The vodafone plan does give you the full amount of data roaming but at the expense of signing up for 12 months. I cant imagine ever using more than 2GB of data abroad in a single month so the 3 plan suits me.

If your going to be using google maps while on holidays download the maps before you go it'll use a lot less data https://support.google.com/maps/answer/7358957?p=ios_offline_maps&visit_id=0-636294076713104040-2513543851&rd=1

Bit the bullet and moved to Vodafone 12mth option above

1/ I'm in Europe a lot so no need to worry about data anymore
2/ I'm old o2 customer and Three coverage has been awful.

    Con
1/ I lose my loyalty bonus and won't get a discounted phone upgrade in Nov 2018

just canceled my business account today because of the same reasons offered here .

BUSINESS users can still cancel up to 24th of this month .
i would like to point out there is no price change and the offer is actually better, but nevertheless its nice to get out of contract .
only twice ive used their customers service and both times the lady was rude ,so happy to leave!

How were you notified of the increase? I didn't receive anything yet. Or does it not apply to all business customers?

Apologies if this has already been answered. I was due an upgrade in June but did it early about a month ago. Am I now 100% under my new 24 month contract, or does it matter that there were/are still a couple of months left on the previous one?
Basically, will this affect whether or not I can keep my five week old handset?

have you received a message from 3 saying that your contract will be changing?

    Yes, about a week ago.
And I've requested and received the unlock code. The only thing I'm unsure about is whether it makes a difference that I upgraded early (FWIW I upgraded without knowing the contract changes were coming)

you signed a new contract and 3 are subsequently amending so i dont see a reason why you couldnt. Give them a call or contact them on webchat to confirm but i think you should be ok.

Well the attraction for me is better coverage in Ireland with VF, never been with them, mostly three and for me three coverage sucks, except in Dublin. The all you can eat data not so high on my list now. But traveling abroad and in the UK, while it lasts is...

I canceled mine today pending closure from 30days, my contract is actually up on the 17th so I'm wondering will a ETF kick in on this or just pay overall bill on 3rd June? Gonna have a look with VF myself mainly cause of their 4g & coverage.
