I thought Bohs were great value in the derby at 5/1. Form really goes out the window in these matches.

    My thoughts-
City away to Drogs, bottom of table
Dundalk home to Limerick (mid table), lost last match 3-0 to Derry.

City -1.5, Dundalk win or possibly -1.5

    Patrick.

    ********League Of Ireland Bet*********

Just one bet that me Gavin, Alan & Graeme are going with this week/

    Dundalk v Limerick

Dundalk look too get back to winning ways after 2 games without a win, prior too this they were on a 6 game win streak scoring 16 goals and conceding 0. With two recent poor results losing too rovers & drawing against Sligo a win is important here to make sure they secure their european place. Dundalk played very well against Sligo but missed a lot of chances. Back at home now should be a different story for Dundalk and we feel the will win comfortably

Stephen Kenny also stated that Dundalk have a fully fit squad too choose from this week after missing a few big names in the last couple of weeks which is a big plus.

Limerick have hit a bit of a slump in recent matches with only 1 win in their last 5 which was against a very poor Drogheda team. Along with this Limerick have also let 4/5 players go and their squad has gotten weaker. Their fans are pretty unhappy with this and with what was always going to be a difficult challenge away to Dundalk has gotten even harder

The reverse fixture in the Markets Field finished 0-3 to Dundalk

    BET - Dundalk -1.5 1.850 MEDIUM

Going for Eddie Dsane to get 2 tonight - 13/1. He is playing some stuff and apparently up to 8 of Galways team had a vomiting bug midweek.

Also on a treble of Harps, Bohs and Union Berlin

Any thoughts on a Wexford Youths ,Bohs double tonight . Bohs are away to Fin Harps and Youths at home to Crumlin. Both in the cup. The double is roughly 7/1.

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,984 ✭✭✭✭ben.schlomo

Wouldn't touch it myself. Crumlin could easily do Wexford, there's an obvious argument to be made for Bohs as they're safe from relegation fears and Harps are right down in the mix again.

    ***LEAGUE OF IRELAND BETS***
Myself, Aidan, Graeme and Alan have discussed and are happy with the below 2 bets! Short enough write ups- we've been very selective about the two bets. Tough set of games with the likes of Cork should be winning easily but playing against relegation threatened Sligo.

St. Patricks Ath -v- Finn Harps Friday 7.45pm
8th -v- 9th in a big relegation six pointer in Richmond Park. Pats looked dead and buried but had a new lease of life any a few smart movements in the transfer window. Pats come into the back of this with 3 League wins and a draw in their last 4. Harps are two up on Pats this season but things should change come Friday night.
Finn Harps manager Ollie Horgan has said “It’s going to ‘backs to the wall’ stuff at Richmond Park tomorrow night. At home Pat’s have to go for the win and if we’re not switched on for the 90 minutes then we’ll be in big trouble.
Packie Mailey and Gareth Harkin are very doubtful for Harps while Caolan McAleer is suspended. No Pats teams news yet.

St. Patricks Ath (GENERAL) @ 1.75 MEDIUM STAKE

    Limerick -v- Bohemians Saturday 6.30pm
Similar to last weeks pick we are going against Limerick again. As said previously they have let 4-5 key players go which has affected them badly. Even before these departures Limerick were struggling. A lot of their fans don't really know what's going on with the club and why they are letting players go. After losing 3-0 to Dundalk last week Limerick had a midweek game yesterday in which they lost 2-0 at home to a Shamrock Rovers team who are struggling to score.
Bohs have put a nice little run together in the league and have their full team fit for this fixture. Bohs have a very good team when everyone is fit. They have proven this by beating Cork & Rovers a couple weeks ago. They are coming off the back of a 0-0 draw home to Bray which they looked pretty wrecked from the 3 games in 7 days. With Bohs having a bit of a break we fell they will be well rested and very capable of getting a result away to Limerick if not beating them. On top of this Bohs have the 3rd best away form in the league and are a very different team away from home. This is where Bohs pick up most of their points.

Bohemians Double Chance (GENERAL) @ 7/10 SMALL STAKE

This week's enhanced ExtraTime.ie treble is Bray, Longford & BTTS in St Pat's vs Finn Harps @4/1 - Bet365 are next best @2.58/1.

Of course someone's going to let it down. :pac:

Finn Harps are the team this week to let it down.

1/2 in the other bet so far.

    FAI Cup Weekend

No write ups for the Irish matches as it's Cup aka Lotto games!

    We do fancy two bets:

Cork City -3 AH (when available) against Athlone which speaks for itself.

Bluebell +0.5 for value! Bluebell game is listed as a home game but was actually moved out to Cabinteelys ground. Bluebells season has just started, they have signed back Dean Ebbe from Inverness after a short stint in Scotland and also Keith Fahey has signed for them. The likes of Bluebell would easily compete in the LoI.

    ***LEAGUE OF IRELAND BETS***
Myself, Aidan, Graeme and Alan have discussed and are happy with the below 2 bets! Short enough write up with a tough set of games to choose from.

Shamrock Rovers -v- Cork City Friday 7.45pm
Live on RTE2, 4th placed Rovers host champions elect Cork City. Cork sit 17 points clear of 2nd placed Dundalk with 7 games left. Having watching Finn Harps -v- Cork on TV two weeks ago, Cork don't look the team they were before top goalscorer Maguire and O'Connor moved to Preston North End. Cork struggled badly.
While the battle for Europe is not holding up, and any slip ups could see Rovers throw away European football in 2018. They put in a big comeback away to Galway last time out and will surely not allow Cork leaving Tallaght with all 3 points.
No major team news from either team.

Shamrock Rovers Draw No Bet (GENERAL) @ 6/5 SMALL STAKE

    Waterford -v- Shelbourne Friday 7.45pm
Waterford have a chance to clinch the league title if they win and Cobh lose, however the Blues are without a few key players. Paddy Barrett and Dean O Halloran miss out with suspension, Patrick McClean is out for the season with injury, Derek Daly looks likely to miss out after a hamstring injury v UCD and John Martin will be playing but may be subbed off midway through out after a call up to Ireland u19 team with that game being on Saturday.
The Blues who are top had a loss of form in August with a draw v Cabo, a heavy cup defeat to Shels and a struggling performance against UCD.
Shels are starting to play well in the league and are difficult to beat. 2 draws, and a good win and a narrow defeat for Shels against Waterford this season so they certainly are proving a difficult obstacle for Waterford this season.

Shelbourne Double Chance (PaddyPower) @ 17/10 SMALL STAKE

    ***LEAGUE OF IRELAND BETS***
Myself, Aidan Morris, Graeme O Rourke and Alan Forristal have discussed and are happy with the below 3 bets! Basic write ups unfortunately due to work commitments and people away.

Bray Wanderers -v- Limerick Friday 7.45pm
Brays training session on Tuesday was cancelled by the Guards due to investigation into match fixing. Both teams can score and Limerick need to push for a win to get further away from the drop.

Over 2.5 Goals (GENERAL) @ 4/6 MEDIUM STAKE

    Galway -v- Derry Friday 7.45pm
Both teams need wins for different reasons - Galway to stay up while Derry to get Europe. Derry should be winning here.

    Derry -0.25 (Bet365) @ 1.80 SMALL STAKE

    Wexford -v- Waterford Friday 8.00pm
A Waterford win will leave them within touching distance of being crowned League Champions. If Cobh don't manage all 3 points on Saturday, Waterford will be crowned Champions in their last home game of the season against Longford.

Watreford -1 AH (GENERAL) @ 1.80 SMALL STAKE

Cork and Waterford to win their respective leagues, 2.54.

There's no odds for FAI Junior Cup outright at the minute but I'd add Sheriff to that too.

Edit: Got Cork, Waterford and Sheriff at 4.3.
    Two down, one to go.

    ***LEAGUE OF IRELAND BETS***
Myself, Aidan Morris, Graeme O Rourke and Alan Forristal have discussed and are happy with the below bet! Unlucky week last week with Bray/Limerick Overs with Bray missing a peno to make it 2-1, Derry losing but Waterford obliged. Our second bet was Galway but they've been backed in too much - maybe an inplay.

    Dundalk -v- Drogheda Friday 7.45pm
Dundalk go into this derby game on a high after winning the league cup final away to Rovers last week. Dundalk are looking too keep improving their form even though the league is over as they want to carry the momentum into the FAI cup semi final. A team who started the season quite poorly has been pretty much unstoppable lately. Racking up big scorelines against teams is becoming common
being a derby game Dundalk will look too put the final nail in the coffin of the all but relegated Drogheda. No mercy will be shown by Dundalk tomorrow night and they will look to hammer their local rivals Drogheda. Dundalk have no new injury concerns this week and have Dylan Connolly & Jamie Mcgrath coming back into the team. Two big attacking threats.
Drogheda are the polar opposite coming into this game off the back of a 4-1 home loss to an average Bohemians side & are without a league win in 18 games! Drogheda are pretty much relegated with 3 teams going down they are 12 points away from safety with 5 games to go. Drogs have no motivation anymore and lots of people are turning on the manager.
We can see this game being complete 1 way traffic and Dundalk could rack up a very big scoreline here

    H2H this season
    08.09.2017 (FCUP) Dundalk 4-0 Drogheda United (
16.06.2017 (LGE) Drogheda United 0-6 Dundalk
31.03.2017 (LGE) Dundalk 3-1 Drogheda United

    Dundalk -2.5 (GENERAL) @ 1.70 MEDIUM/LARGE STAKE

Why odds are so high on Cork to win?Im thinking either Cork DC or BTTS for my acca.Any toughts?

I fully expect a dundalk win.

Dundalk over 1.5 is 5/6 which is a bit low but it's hard not to see it coming in.

I expect it to be tight but eventually the form team will get on top.
Draw ht Dundalk ft 9/2 is my value bet.
Dundalk -1 second half 5/1 also.

Cork are having serious difficulty in scoring goals since Seanie left.
Would love a draw, but I honestly can't see us even getting that.
They are the form team, we are in relegation form .

Took an og for us to score. Best we've played in a long time, from a betting perspective a bad night.
