The remaining Fixx Round 1 Entries open at 12, mainly for Alek's Benefit.

    https://fixxcx.wordpress.com/race-1/

Robin was overseeing some training in the park last evening.

Evan/Robin do great work promoting CX skills. Super session yesterday, helped by the frankly stunningly beautiful low hanging setting sun.

    I took away loads of homework;
cornering without braking on wide sweeping turns
    The log/boards hopping technique
    Re-mounting
    Admittance to the pain cave!

all good though and thanks to Evan and Robin as it was absolutely brilliant craic, as well as bing focused training.

Can't see that video, must be set to private.

Is this a training session open to everyone, will there be other nights?
I'd be interested if there's so training sessions going!

Here it is, first date of our three CX in the Blackwater Park, Navan.

Revised course which runs really well and will reward the technical riders.

Registration available online through Cycling Ireland. At the moment we are advertising 'sign on' on the morning as well but that could change dependant on numbers.

Need new cx tyres any recommendations

  • Registered Users Posts: 170 ✭✭scott.s

    Clement PDX: http://clementcycling.com/pdx-clincher

Great tyre. Feels pretty supple for a clincher. Runs very fast on smooth grass and tarmac sections but has the side knobs on the tread to grip in the mud and corners.

Expert Cycles in Rathfarnham sell them (http://www.expertcycles.ie/)

Who has been to any of the CX World Cup series before? Which are the easier ones to get to?

I've been having a look at all of them this morning but none seem to be particularly convenient to get to by rail once you arrive over there.

The easiest one is in Diegem (Superprestige Series), Belgium, it is right beside Brussels airport. The only issue is that it's usually on the 26th December or something close to Christmas. It's a night time floodlit race followed by an all night rave !!!.......so no need for a hotel, just stay up and sleep on the plane the following day:)

A few of us heading to the World Champs again this year, it's in Luxembourg, not the easiest to get to either, but flights to Belgium (onward with rental car) the flight were under €50 return.

Yeah I saw that one on 26th December, no way I'll be able to swing that one! Ideally would like to go without the hassle of booking a car, but it might end up being the only way.

Namur is 1 hour from Brussels on the train and I think the race is in the citadel which is very close to the city centre. It's also not too far from Charleroi.
