Cool overcast day here in Kerry just getting up to 11.9C at home, light ENE breeze. Nevertheless great day for trekking around the mountains.....

After 11 dry days, a miserable drizzle descended this evening - not enough to wet the ground underneath the trees in the total calm....but enough to end the dry spell :(

This is the view from my office at the moment :)
We had snow showers yesterday morning and the snow line here in the Austrian Tyrol is currently 1200m - unusual for this early in Autumn

It actually hit 19.8C here about an hour ago! Currently at 18.8C. The Foehn effect is working wonders.

That's a really strong Atlantic low on the 12Z UKMO. You rarely see the isobars packed that tightly on this model.

    UW96-21_qnj8.GIF

However, not to worry, it is peaking at that point. 24 hours later it's weakened at lot as it drifts in our general direction.

The tightest isobars ever I saw was the Braer storm of January 1993

Yep, once again it looses all its ommph by the time it reaches Ireland and ends up a big, flabby, deflated balloon washed up on a bleak southern shore.

Funnily enough another similar dartboard low showing up on ECM for Friday 30th, still a long way off.

Interesting weather here in west Clare. Every hour or so mist and rain would move in reducing visibility to less than 2000m and the tenpetute would shoot up to 13.5c and humidity too. The rain and mist would then clear, visibility would become 10km or more and the temp (to around 11c) and humidity would drop
