    At least two gunmen have attacked the Paris office of French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo, killing a number of people, French media report.

    Witnesses spoke of sustained gunfire at the office as the attackers opened fire with Kalashnikov assault rifles.

    The satirical weekly has courted controversy in the past with its depiction of news and current affairs.

    Its latest tweet was a cartoon of the Islamic State militant group leader, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.

    Not surprising, sure those things are all over the place, millions of them. They're not the most elegant device but by Cheeses they get the point across.

    No, I blamed the religion itself. It is because of religion that rubbish like this is happening. No Islam, no Islamic terrorism. You might counter that the people involved would find something else to shoot others over and you might well be right.

    And it was actually monitored by the police. But the plain cloth policemen who where on site had to wait for reinforcement as they didn't have enough firepower to handle such weaponery :-/
