A comfy big cruiser is the way to go on our roads I think, throw a tow bar on and bring your Civic to Mondello then!

It is still limited, he hasn't gotten the time to remove it, he thinks it's only at 160 or so now, still only stock.

If it's limited he's using a jap (SiR) ecu. Throw an English (VTi) ecu into it and Itl be delimited.

On the same topic, if the engine code is B16A it's a jap engine. If it's B16A2 then it's an English one. Either will run best on its own ecu. They each have very slightly different fueling.

A good straight through, intake set up and ignition timing makes the world of difference to vtecs.

Totally drivable like that, there are cars with much more severe camber out the driving.

Big difference between drivable and functioning, air bags are for buses and scene queens, the ruin a cars handling characteristics.

Most of these lads are "low and slow" merchants anyway, they don't care about how they actually ride/handle or the speed.

I know, i was at a show recently there was a supercharged RS4 at it, lovely expect it was on air and had cooking woks for wheels, i cried a little inside - then i heard it arrived on a trailer - sad. :(

Good thing it's only a 4pot diesel then.
Not all car must be track gods or back road slayers, semi functional show builds are the closest we get to crazy concept cars on the roads, I'm delighted we have them.

Lads basically sounds like a scam but some advice would be great. Anyway family member is looking at a car. Seems to check out mileage wise and all that. They haven't viewed it yet but the seller said he is selling it for a friend who is working as a nurse in Birmingham. Her name is on the logbook. There going to ring him back tonight and quiz him. But is there anyway this isn't a scam or is it just definite. Maybe if he could prove it some way but I dont even know how the logbook would work although he does have it. Interesting to see what he says when asked.

Get nurse's name and search facebook. If found one in Birmingham, contact her to get a confirmation.

Was thinking that or if she could send him a picture of her licence and nurses I.d. Something like that maybe Skype or something. Sounds like a lot of effort but it's a very clean looking car and in a spec that's extremely hard to get here. Plus if it was scam most likely the guy selling it wouldn't have mentioned ownership on the phone and he wouldn't have taken the pictures outside his house. Still though he needs to prove it. It will be interesting to here what he says this evening.

That would be a really weird thing to do IMO.

If the car isn't stolen, and it checks out okay itself, whats the problem exactly?

The logbook is in her name he's selling it. So he needs to prove that she does want to sell the car and it's legit.

Had the 166 out for it's first drive in the wet today and pressed on a bit. The Avon ZV5s are excellent. Really good wet performance. Seeing as they were the same price as Nankang NS-20s they were a no brainer. :)

Have you driven a 156 v6 Ded Zebra, and if so how does it compare?

I saw your 166 parked but not in motion :)

I have. I drove a previous posters one. At the time I drove it the exhaust ended before any silencers so it was louder for a start! The 166 is a very different experience. Much more of a motorway muncher, very very quiet car with no real sensation of speed so you have to be careful! Might have hit 80 MPH today between Ashford and Rathnew, Just wasn't paying attention :o. It can still hold it's own in the twisties though :)

Get a proper exhaust set up on that to let your busso sing. Does it still have the twin spark back box?

It does. The plan is to change it. I kind of like the quiet though...

I hated that box from day one. How cheap do you have to be to put one on, they were only a few quid less than the proper box!!!

166 was always meant to be civilized and quiet compared to the 156

What you need is to remove the resonator box and then cat back. The removal of the resonator box gives it such a grunt. And we'll you know what the cat back is like. They can be picked up quite cheap too

Does a back box like this offer any performance increase or just make the car louder?

Traveled on a stretch of National road (100km speed limit) this evening from 8:20 to 9:00 and met a grand total of 3 cars. It's great to have the road to yourself!
