Nice one, might get a set, I mean if I need to work on the underside of the playfield, I assume I have to first remove the blades as they stop the playfield lifting?

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 5,383 Mod ✭✭✭✭Optimus Prime

No you dont have to take them off at all once they are on. the playfield still goes up as normal. i was worried when i got my first ones the playfield might scratch the mirrors when lifting it up, but if you are careful lifting it doesnt touch them at all.

    Looking great Keith.

I'll take that tip about the lights. Need to sort out a whopper wireless router to get my wifi to the garage. The router pure Telecom gave me is a bag of ****e for wifi.

Those mirror blades are the business aswell

The lights work off the zigbee network . Now I’m no expert in it but I believe they create a mesh wireless network back to your WiFi router. So if you had them in your shed they would connect to the nearest hue bulb, say your kitchen (if it’s in the back ) , then that light back to your hall hue bulb , then that one to your router. So you don’t necessarily have to have a wireless signal in your shed. The lights create a wireless network back to the router.

I use those powerline adapters from argos €38 to get the internets out to my shedcade, I know they are only 600mbps but sure you are down the sticks and probably only on 56k anyway :D
You can then plug any old router in and use it as an access point.

I use one of these strip lights in mine too, bargain at €30

My last purchase for a while, the original release of SimCity for IBM PC. This one has Godzilla on the cover, for which Maxis got in legal trouble and ended up replacing with a tornado pretty quickly after release. As a result you'll see the tornado version much more often.

Nice job on that Saturn HSS! The pink looks really cool.Going to keep it original artwork wise?

That Sangyo stick really is an odd one. Not much info on it online at all.

Picked this up on adverts recently. Don't have much experience with cabs but have always wanted to get one (or 10) :P

It's got the icade 60 in 1 board. Really enjoying Time Pilot although I never played it back in the day.

Need to add new locks as I got no keys and general tidy up but I am delighted with it so far and definitely feeling the urge to get another!

Should I add a light behind the Marquee or leave as is?

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 5,383 Mod ✭✭✭✭Optimus Prime

Nice cab ! Congrats ! Light the marquee up. Nice shaped cab , looks like a Galaga or Frogger type cab.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 2,165 Mod ✭✭✭✭L1m1tless

Thanks! I shall go with a light so after I do the other bits.

I was looking at your arcade pics earlier in this thread, looks amazing!

Yeah, I just need to get a decent print & laminate job done.
I have some pure-white buttons I might use for the top row though.

The Sangyo Spital really is a piece of oddware; all I can guess from the Japanese manual is that it was made in 1996 by Spital Sangyo Co., Ltd.
It also came with a silly sticker set:

In anticipation of those GameStop / Arcade1UP cabs I decided to order a pair of foldable chairs that won't take up much space while in storage.

    442962.JPG

They're lightly padded so not the most comfortable but it was only £12.99 for them both delivered to the UK, you won't get much cheaper than that!

Just sent my deposit over for the rerelease of Majyuuou. Cant wait! Such a weird snes release. Has been on my list to buy for years but the price just got out of control.

9990 yen in total. 3000 yen if you want to just pay a deposit now (it'll be shipping late April)

Strange setup for it though, not sure if you're friends with Stefano Bruni on facebook (a guy in Japan who sells stuff) but he's taking orders through that. So you'd need to add him as a friend and send him a message requesting details about how to buy it.

I was super confused at first as I couldn't find a place anywhere online about it.

Bit rich for my blood at the moment, disposable income is tied up for the next couple of weeks.
May try to manage something after that. Im weak for limited releases even if i'll never play it and don't have massive love for the snes:rolleyes:
Also will have to make a facebook again. Just when you think you're out, they pull you back in!!

It's up on ncsx.com to preorder for $62, surprising as they're usually the most expensive of import suppliers.
