There's a few delusional posters who think the Govt is going to collapse next week and the Shinners will be swept into power on a wave of popular support:pac::pac:
And there's a few away with the fairies posters here who think their beloved golden circle parties will put on a magic show between here and the next general election and stop Sinn Fein getting more votes than ever.

Aw, someone isn't feeling the Thanks button love. More Kleenex perhaps?

Well, not that it really matters, but around 50% on my posts get thanked.

    You're at less than 14%:D:D:D

How does it feel to have such unpalatable opinions?

I guess that's your just rewards for being such a populist.

And it appears you only have one opinion.
Get back to me when your, ahem, account matures a bit. :D

    As original as expected.
You've probably even convinced yourself that your opinions are your own.

I must mark this post down for future reference for when the next "will you wear/buy a poppy" thread comes along

Personally I wouldn't wear a poppy because I do not associate myself with the British army, no more than I associate myself with the Azerbaijani or Mongolian army.

What made you choose the British army incidentally? Are you yourself British?
I have no problem with the fact you are ex military incidentally, I have a few work-related associates who are ex servicemen also. They know my background, I know theirs, and we all get along fine.

Why bother? He's just another of the anti-SF brigade who either has no opinion of his own or is just too embarrassed to tell anyone. Thread here is full of them.

Other than Enda coming onto the airwaves the day before the polling booths opened and calling the electorate a bunch of idiots, SF couldn't have wished for a more favourable climate - and they barely limped above 15%!:D:D:D

    I'm enjoying this thread immensely.

So "highest vote ever" is now "standard"? Insightful stuff.

Delighted FF and FG are talking coalition. They've been identical parties for years anyway.

What is it with some Sinn Fein supporters who feel the need to call someone a blue shirt if they say anything anti Sinn Fein. A few years after the blueshirts some ira men went to Nazi Germany, does that make Sinn Fein supporters Nazis? I don't but perhaps you do

What you call them is irrelevant - you have to call them something, I didn't mean it as any kind of insult. It just seems a shaky grasp on the founding principles of democracy - the will of the people, so long as they will what I want. I actually like Leo - he's a bit of a rent a quote - but at least he will give his opinion, unlike that spineless wind bag enda who point blank refuses to talk to anyone who might disagree with him. I get the feeling if he had things his own way he'd quickly morph into Kim Jong Kenny.

It is used as an insult !
You were even responding to someone who seemed to support FF!!!

The blue shirts composed mainly of pro treaty IRA men most of whom would at some stage presumably have been in SF, they protected various parties rallies against the released IRA FF men. The parties they protected and the blueshirts amalgamated to form FG who a year later got rid of O'Duffy and the more extreme blueshirts.

At the time a lot of ppl felt everywhere would turn fascist or communist and they were merely an anti fascist group more then anything else.

It was my first time giving the Shinners a preference ever in an election (number 2 in Euros, first in Locals). 1 candidate in and the other in contention. Good stuff :)

These are just lazy generalisations. I do own a Celtic jersey, I do not wear a track suit and I do not vote for SF

Location: Glasgow. Hmm, not surprising you don't vote for them!

I'm just making fun of the AH generalisation. I used to be pretty anti-SF but they've won me over in recent times.

I don't not vote SF because of the past.

I don't vote SF because of the future.

    This...a million times this!!

I'm glad they've managed to shake off that whole unseemly incident where their party leader was arrested for ordering the murder of a woman and the disappearance of her body.

I'm glad that's all been cleared up. That's it now. Plain sailing for Sinn Fein from here on in. No more akwardness about dead people.

We've reached a consensus that we are "moving on".

Stuff the nasty Brits did is still fair game to bring up and demand documentation on though.
