he's a disgrace to Irish politics.

Any chance you could somehow just not be Irish anymore? I mean we have enough to be embarassed about as things stand.

Let me say first that I have absolutely no interest in either politics or Ming. I know very little about either, in fact the ONLY thing I know about "Ming" is that he doesn't wear a suit. I agree that a suit doesn't make a good honest politician (if one even exists) but NOT wearing a suit doesn't make one either. If you ask me, I think he is the one making the big deal about clothing. If he had come into work wearing the same uniform as everybody else in the first place, this clothing issue would never have come up and maybe people would be spending more time paying attention to what he has to SAY and what he is actually DOING instead of either criticizing or congratulating him about wearing baggy jumpers. A previous poster hit the nail on the head.......publicity....nothing more. How good a politician would he be if everybody else wore their favorite baggy jumpers too?

I seem to recall him holding back about his own penalty points...
Ah yeah, but isnt he a great lad though? Looking for the legalisation of 'hash.'

That obviously means he is not a self serving, slieveen politician, who's only ambition is blatant self promotion through stunts like this.

and if he was only talking about it on boards you be telling him to run for politics if he wants to do something about it, you cant win...

Did anybody see his disgraceful behaviour in the Dáil chamber during the debate on the Water Services Bill this morning? First of all he turns up in a wooly jumper and denim jeans like a crusty while everybody else is wearing a suit (besides that other slob Wallace). Then he started ranting while using coarse language like "piss" - hardly befitting of a parliamentarian.

To anybody on the Left - this is why people laugh at you and don't take you seriously. This is why all the socialists are hidden in the very back corner while the big boys are talking. What an embarrassment. Ming could be in trouble with Dáil authorities after his outburst. Do you honestly thing he will ever progress beyond a one-term novelty backbencher. Imagine somebody like him representing Ireland in the EU parliament or in a ministry.

"suit" is a dirty word nowadays. and maybe it's just me, but I would prefer somebody saying a word like "p*ss" rather than somebody wondering why people who had a different opinion wouldn't just go off and commit suicide.

My point, which you seem to have ignored, is that he is only in it for himself.

Boil it or drink bottled water...there's always been background levels in drinking water, the only alternative is to treat it with flouride, itself a supected carcinogen.

Er, no - that's not how you conduct an interview.

You still haven't answered my question - why are you promoting stereotypes of cannabis users and politicians and people who live in South Roscommon & Leitrim?

Doubt all you want. I watched his snivelling denial of the whole penalty point issue and only when it was put to him in cold hard fact, that he actually admitted. He has the moral fibre of a particularly rancid guinness sh1te.

  • Registered Users Posts: 9,370 ✭✭✭Phoebas

I think you missed the point. You clearly believe in style over substance.

He made a very valid point that the government expects people to pay for water but the water system only provides some people with the "piss" he presented to the minister.
    which is undrinkable.
Ming's stunt was all about style over substance.

Is Ming's position that he supports water charges if the quality is up to standard?

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,121 ✭✭✭ghogie91

I didnt really listen to the Ming that much until the speech about the water

I though it was one of the best moments in the Dail I have ever heard! He has basically earned respect for actually standing up and speaking out, not like the other Yes men

Heavens no, that would be electoral suicide. He'll pick a nice easy bandwagon to jump on, not something that might be constructive and helpful to the economy. Anyone up for a bit of support for turf cutters?

if we had more TD's like him to highlight corruption we would not be in the mess we are now in.

    100% Agree.

The mess would be way worse.

    Dung Smugglers perhaps?

At last the penny has dropped, that was the idea, to highlight the disgusting water supply in Roscommon. The whole country knows about the problem now.
Isn't that what your TD is supposed to do get publicity for their peoples problems, and show the rest of the country the incompetence of their local authority. Fair play to you Ming, if we had more TD's like him to highlight corruption we would not be in the mess we are now in.

Did you read the 2 words after publicity. He could have easily made his points in another way but it would not have people all over the place talking about HIM. Just look at the thread while the OP did nmot intend it ((% of the thread is about Ming

I wonder what his musings are on the positive growth in the domestic economy over the past six months? His nuggets of wisdom emerging out from clouds of acrid and pungent smoke.

Himself and Wallace are like Bebop and Rocksteady. I wouldn't let them manage a chip van.

It was a low point. There was an organised walkout and other much more salient contributions made by other members of the opposition. All lost because of the egotistical showboating of this spoofer.

What next? Willie O'Dea emptying a sack of cow dung over Simon Coveney's head to protest against the cutting of farm grants?

Procedures and processes exist in all parliaments. This was the action of a shítehawk.

Ah yeah, but he puts himself forward like he is squeaky clean, his behaviour has suggested otherwise. In my eyes, that actually makes him worse. With the rest of the taypots you know what you are getting.

I have a particular dislike for hypocrites and he has unreservedly shown himself to be one.

No I didnt see any disgraceful behaviour.
What I did see is a TD standing up for the people he represents who are going to be charged for drinking water that will make you sick if its drank.
Do you not think being charged for water thats not drinkable is disgraceful behaviour? Its also is in breach of the Sales of Goods and supply of services act 1980.
If deep river rock sold bottles of water Cryptosporidium, not only would the water be taken off the self, they would be fined. So why is it ok for the irish government to do it?

You loathe the man because of how he looks and where he hails from. He reeks of "otherness" and you can't stand that.

Now what irrationality does that remind me of?
