There was a conflict on. Get real.

Did they have to leave the families in torment for years on end? What about the cowardly lies and rumours they spread about them having run away?

I'd love to hear one of these journos/hacks ask why would she have been killed if she wasn't a tout?

This is nonsense, a lot of people in the south won't vote for Adams because he is in SF. They'll find some reason to not vote for any new leader. SF voters are typically loyal and that is what scares the bejayus out of the established parties about their growth.

    Perhaps brainwashed!

I'm waiting on someone to ask if her son was an IRA member and continued to be involved with the IRA after they executed his mother... but maybe they still want to see the innocent mother of 10 who never hurt a fly.

According to Nuala O'Loan she wasn't an informant.

Also found it strange Hughes kept saying he didn't order the hit it was Adams.

Was he ever accused of this?

Why didn't he reveal how he knew Adams ordered it?

And he said it's hearsay a couple of times. Really when you put it together there isn't a whole lot to go by.

Whether Gerry is involved or not will probably never be truly revealed. The most important issue this documentry raised was the fact that the organisation in question are evil callous scum

So you didn't see the documentary. Then why are you on this thread?

All you ever seem to do is ask questions of people in this smug pseudo-Socratic style

Its not clever. its not nice and it doesn't contribute anything.

I agree with that, but he should step aside on his own terms, in his own good conscience. Not at the behest of a load of riled up idiots fuelled by the relentlessly civil-war fuelled political tirades of the Indo and RTE.

We'll see you on here when RTE and The BBC bastions of truthful, independent and honest journalism air their programme on the alleged collusion of the the British in the Dublin/Monaghan bombings Fred and why they are still covering it up. Just like they revealed what went on on Bloody Sunday. Great that some of our 'Irish' citizens are so unbrainwashed.

So we've an opinion from the ex police ombudsman who would know far more than any of us and have access to information unseen, Jean McConville wasn't a tout.

We've evidence from an IRA hunger striker who while I didn't like his political beliefs, was always consistent and suffered huge physical pain because of resultant physical damage to his body because of his commitment to Republicanism.

We've a revered Republican Billy McKee, seen as a legendary figure and almost was a one man vigilante force against the RUC and B Specials when IRA stood for "I Ran Away" in 1969 Belfast, with barely a gun in its armoury and any they did have, were relics from the 50's Border Campaign.

We've journalist interviews with Republican sources who understandably can't go public.

We've loads of stuff to go on. Some will still deny it, but they take handed down information from Republican propaganda as gospel, and also rely on a not particularly convincing denial from a politician who has serious doubts about the truthiness of his denials over connections with his brother Liam, a paedophile, the decision will be handed down tomorrow.

I know the case of Nairic, strange character and not a case I'd be highlighting here because well, that would be political spin. You can't wash away what happened just by bringing up Nairic.

SF is in Government in N.I., could well be here soon, senior members are coming under intense scrutiny exactly because of that, that's normal politics, not the shadow world of no go areas, IRA court marshals and keeping people quiet through intimidation. I can't see Adams lasting much longer as leader, this maybe old news for those interested in N.I. issues but along with questions he has to answer about his brother, I could see Pearse or Mary Lou leading them into the next election.

Mad Men's Don Draper : What you call love was invented by guys like me, to sell nylons.

By the bye, its a discussion board. If somebody makes an allegation, its generally standard practice to ask them to expand on it, or provide some source.

Hate provo violence apologism/loyalist violence apologism/security forces violence apologism and also hate the above Eoghan Harris sh1t.

Whether you like it or not, you'd be seen as an enemy to your beloved Willie Frazier and his ilk. Presume anyway you mean you stopped being an Irish citizen in a symbolic sense but still officially are.

Go on so.. outline the accusations made directly against Adams in relation to the disappearance of anyone..

I'm pretty sure the premise of the 'documentary', and certainly of this thread; was to show him to be directly responsible for their disappearance. So what new, actually admissible evidence has been put forward to support that?

    In your own time, now.

Can you elucidate on what was shown in tonight's show that contributed to our evolution as a nation?

And even if she was, she was informing against the PIRA, which to my way of thinking was a good thing.

Waits for IRA supporter backlash, followed by torrents of abuse accusations of being a west brit, etc etc etc yeah yeah yeah . . .

If I had been a Northern Nationalist voter during the troubles, I would have voted SDLP. John Hume was da'man with the big kahunas, with not a shot fired or a person murdered by his Nationalist Party movement. Big respect to him (and Mallon).

    Adams is tainted.
