    Nadal 2-0 down now

Mad. It's too early to write Rafa off in this match, but could you write his chances of winning the tournament off already?

Darcis just took the 2nd set. Didn't think Rafa would have much trouble defending his R2 points from last year..... of course it's not over yet.

How would I get the Nadal match on bbc? I press the red button but there's just the standard bbc teletext?

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,891 ✭✭✭iamanengine

The red button service seems to have gone down! Switch to TG4 asap I'd say!

    This game is insane.

Edit - Oops, seems to have moved on to the main channel!

    They're switching to BBC1 now.

I hope Rafa can drag his ass back into this. It's nice to see an under-dog win and all, but he'll probably be gone in the next round anyway.

Nadal is still favorite on Paddy power after losing his serve in the third.

That's unreal, he looks like a beaten man.

And now he´s not.. nows the time for someone to stick a tenner on nadal.

He's on the ropes big time. Hope he can pull through but the odds are seriously stacked against him now surely!

It's ok now changed to bbc1 and now that Murray's on the red it works :pac: Cheers anyway.

    Nadal 5/4

    Darcis 4/7

Still think thats mental odds being 2 sets down

Picture quality of TG4 is pretty poor when compared to BBC.

If Nadal goes out it'll be his first ever grand slam R1 loss
I just hope he doesn't try blame his knees.

There's something definitely wrong with him physically though.

According to darcis wiki he has already knocked nadal out in straight sets in the 2013 wimbledon championships.

Is there? He was absolutely fine a couple of weeks ago when he rolled through the clay court season.

Of course he'll blame his knees, and the court and the lighting and the fact it's not clay. Anything to avoid saying he played like crap.

And his name has been changed to Steve "Rosol the 2nd" Darcis :D

Its tough to see him get that game back.. All Darcis will do from here is put 150% into his service games and be more reserved for nadals i reckon.

I keep thinking it's my eyes. It looks foggy or something.

If he loses here we won't see him again until next March.

Exactly! I thought at one point "why are they playing in the mist?!" and then I realised :o

Nadal pulled up on his run there with a straight knee when he knew he was getting nowhere near the net shot
    :rolleyes::rolleyes:

Get it together Wozniacki! Being broken by Candela

It'd be nice to think that this isn't JUST a great performance by Darcis versus a stuttering, listless Nadal. Should Darcis win here (which is looking likely atm) it'd be interesting to see if he could compound the performance and go on a winning streak. Perhaps not though..

Hes clearly struggling lads with his left leg hes barely putting any pressure on it at all

Only since he went 2-0 down..

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,891 ✭✭✭iamanengine

Yeah I think it's obvious just from watching that his knee is not right.

That said, Darcis is playing seriously well. I'd be interested to see how he fairs in the 2nd round, assuming he gets there!

Hes been 2-0 down many a time in sets and I have never seen him visually struggle with injury this bad.

There is no chance a guy ranked ~150 in the world, who's only ever won 1 match at Wimbledon would beat Rafa 3-zip, of course there is something wrong with Rafa physically.
