Just waiting for the tabloids to seize on the fact that it's "Patriots Day" in Boston...

Anniversary of the first battles of the American Civil War etc....

Surprised that the Daily Mail or Fox aren't all over it!

Just heard footage of the explosion on CNN....far more terrifying than just seeing the coverage...people screaming and utter confusion and disbelief

Not saying he has to start banging on the table and promising vengeance, but to me he came across as if he could have been reading any run of the mill statement that's all.

I think his attempt of appearing grave and serious is more like vague disinterest - at least that's how he came across IMO

I thought he was being stoic ... a matter of opinion though :)

How would you know what they were saying if you weren't watching it though? And you and people like you watching it is the reason they sensationalize the news, to keep people watching so the ad rates stay high

If you think it's that disgusting, turn it off and don't use tabloid news sources

A sibling had it on the tv. I wouldn't dirty my eyes by watching it but unfortunately my ears were molested by the unhidden glee as more and more developments were made.

Think it means some people think it's an in-job, and the authorities are trying to make it seem like it was someone else.

    Have to disagree....
Bush did a absolutely fantastic job in times of national tragedy.
After Hurricane Sandy Obama went to NY did a photo op and left..

Oh yes,and Bush was so strong and helpful after Katrina.

Basically suggesting that the American government did it

As opposed to Bush's fantastic swift response following Hurricane Katrina...

Anyway, back on topic, I really just will never understand acts like this. I get that sometimes war happens and even deaths happen as an unfortunate consequence of world affairs. But acts like this, at an event where so many children and families would have been present, where thousands of people who would have spent months raising money for charities and training their hearts out for worthy causes- and then someone decides to do this. I just don't understand it at all.

God love them all, RIP to the dead and my thoughts are with the people of Boston and beyond affected by this.

Yeah, I think you are being cynical. Why would he be pretending to be sad about his own people being murdered?

A False Flag attack is one perpetrated by the government to instill fear in it's people for the purpose of gaining support for something (legislation, wars, etc.).

It's something that conspiracy theorists like to jerk off to.

Act of Terrorism staged by a Government to gain the favour of the people essentially... Like when Germany staged an attack in Gleiwit, blamed the Polish, and invaded Poland in WW2....

    Or like 9/11 allegedly.

This is too small scale to be a false flag. All the hallmarks of a lone nutjob/ small group of nutjobs.

Crazy people do crazy ****. Don't give them the validation of analysing it.

Hmmm...like the time he vowed to find the terrorists responsible for 9/11 and then insisted the gathered journalists take a look at his backswing. Obama, at least, seems to have a genuine empathy for people.

Just switched on the news there an hour ago and like everyone else, I'm so saddened that anyone would inflict such terror and tragedy on their fellow human beings. Whomever is responsible, I hope they're caught soon.

Sympathies go out to anyone affected by this senseless act of violence on what was supposed to be a happy, celebratory day for all involved.
