these were not large explosions of the type created by large quantities of commercial explosives. (if so dozens would have been killed).

my guess is this is the work of a lone nutter, probably using homemade device/ingredients.

my thoughts and prayers go to the poor people affected.

Surely there are plenty of groups out there who would love to be behind this from the perspective of it increasing their fanatical following.

It's possible that someone has claimed responsibility but either the authorities or the media are withholding it until it's confirmed. If it were an Al-Qaeda attack, or any other terrorist organisation, it's possible it wasn't "sanctioned". A lot of Al-Qaeda's strength comes from small groups who don't necessarily act with the approval of the larger group and possibly won't even make them aware due to the inherent risk of communicating (particularly after the Transatlantic Plot was exposed and prevented).

What seems to be more common nowadays is simple grass-roots groups fighting for the cause and claiming the name but not directly connected to the group.

Im 99% sure this is a terrorist attack by a middle eastern jihad group no way an american nut done this with such good success.
