    MOD NOTE:

I've merged a few Stage 2 discussion threads into one big thread in an effort to help those find information they need about Stage 2 as quickly as possible. I'll also Sticky the thread for the time being also.
(The forum also needed a quick tidy up, makes it easier to Mod!)

Remember folks, there is a search function for each thread, it's very handy.

    As you were folks.

    Hi there all,

Anyway I've completed the myCic 2nd stage of the application and I wanted to see if anyone has encountered the same problem as me yet.

I participated in the IEC before and lived in Toronto for a year. Now I have received a message requesting a Canadian Police Cert for the time I spent there.

    http://www.canadainternational.gc.ca/united_kingdom-royaume_uni/experience_canada_experience/faq.aspx?view=d#PoliceCert

Now the above link clearly states that a Police Cert shouldn't be neccesary for the time you spent in Canada on a previous IEC visa.

    Anyone else had this email?

And if so...how do you get a Toronto Police Cert? Anyone got any links?

Jesus are they serious?! They want a bloody police check from their own bloody country?! Despite having said on their website that they will not require one. Bloody canucks :pac:

No idea how to get one of these btw, but i better start figuring it out!

My mate has the same problem, he emailed the CIC but hasnt heard anything back yet and that was 5days ago but mine uploaded fine.

When you are filling in your details for given names make sure you add your middle name aswell.

hope that helps if not hope yas get sorted soon.

I have tried to upload it about 100 times since Thursday!!
Every time I do it says

Your document contains invalid entries. Please review your document and retry

    I have tried EVERY thing!!
I have cleared the form and started again numerous times
I downloaded a whole new form and tried that
Iv tried doing it from Internet explorer, Firefox and chrome all off different computers!
I even set up a brand new login and the same thing kept happening!!
    Im going to go Insane!!
I got my friend to compare it against her Application and she said everything is filled out the same!

    Step 1 - Calm Down

Step 2 - Put "Not Applicable" OR "N/A" in EVERY field irrelevant to you! :)

(e.g job description, duties, title & address)

haha imagine after all that i just didnt validate the form!!
yea i know exactly how to do it from last year, I actually don't know what else to do, I cant afford to wait 3 weeks for the CIC to get back to me,
and when the error comes up there is a little question mark you can click and it says you have to print it, scan and save the form before you upload it which is 100% wrong, they dont accept scanned copies of that form! so annoying!

I'm just about to start filling out my forms. Could anyone who has done it already help me out.

I'm in Canada already and it asks the dates I've been here. The from date is obvioulsy the date I arrive but should I just put todays date as the second date?

When I'm filling out the form do I just do it on my computer then validate it and save it before uploading?

I've seen conflicting info about the digital signature. How do I go about adding this?

Is form IM5707 the correct family form? I noticed some people saying it wasn't.

Are there any issues that others have found that I should look out for?

    Cheers!

yep you just validate and save then upload,

They ask you for a digital signature once you upload all your docs, all you have to do it type your name, No the family form is the right one just print sign and scan it. its all easy enough actually, Obviously apart from the fact i cant upload my application!!

    Hi guys,
Looks like ye have gotten much further than I have. Got my conditional acceptance letter from IEC, as directed by them went on to CIC website. Answered their Come to Canada questionnaire and its telling me I'm not eligible so couldn't get personal checklist code to create MyCIC account. I sound so stupid but tried answering it different ways, still no joy. I have a job here in Calgary (so answered Canada as country of residence) but I know for a fact that I won't get a LMO ( so had to answer no to written job offer on questionnaire).Went to 'Work' on menu on CIC home page, then 'Temporary Workers' and completed questionnaire. I presume that is what ye guys did. Please can someone let me know. Was much less complicated last year.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,928 ✭✭✭✭Panthro

    Right folks, I'm stumped.
I'm currently in Canada so when I'm filling out the IM1295 form...it asks:

    (No.7)..."Current country of residence"...(Canada, I presume?)
    "Status"...(Worker, I presume?)

    (No.9).."Country where Applying"....(Canada again?)
    "Status"....(worker?)
"From...To"...(These the dates my current Visa is running from and to?)

I had this issue and i updated adobe reader and a new box appeared which highlighted the existing fields. I clicked this and it highlighted every field i need to fill in. Once i filled in highlighted fields it allowed me to validate and save.
hope this helps and best of luck:)

hey, can i just ask for those who have submitted their application to CIC - did you receive an actual confirmation of application message in your 'my messages' section or did the area that used to have 'apply online' just change to have an application number and say transmitted. if you did receive an actual message did it direct you to do anything else?

i submitted mine but did not receive a confirmation message, though it does say transmitted. just want to check mine against others :)

Hi there, I have received an email from Mycic requesting a Canadian Police Cert from the time of my previous participation on the IEC in 2011. The FAQs of the IEC state that a Canadian Police Cert isn't necessary. But Mycic have requested it by March 11th and apparently it can take up to 16 weeks to obtain one from outside Canada (I'm in Ireland) At the moment my best option seems to be to fly to Toronto for a week, sort it, then return. Surely this shouldn't be necessary?

I've heard that this has happened to others who previously took part in the IEC. Has anyone gotten any definitive answers?

Also does anyone have the link to the facebook page for IEC with this person Kat who is supposedly a representative of the IEC? I've tried finding it but had no luck.

Just wondering, are people putting all of the "W*******" number or just the digits?

you can request a police cert online, its Defiently does not take 16 weeks, Im sure you can askt hem to rush it, you have to pay for it here though i requested one fro some thing else and they say 3 weeks but cud be less, and im in Toronto so dont think it matters where you apply for it from

Question for anyone who went to Canada on a J1 equivalent (think it was called SWAP) and is now renewing an IEC visa from Canada.
Have you experienced any issues with your application? Is this still counted as your second visa?
Hearing rumours that IEC regard an extension as a third visa (only if you went to Canada as a student before), and are rejecting applications...
If anyone could shed light on this I'd appreciate it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 93 ✭✭Shalamov

    Guys
For anyone stuck with the application process in Stage 2, read ripcord's instructions on p233 of the IEC Megathread.
    They're very useful
