For anyone who knows the shopping centre the Que is going from the Apple store back towards Top shop over the little bridge and back down to mamas &papas, So a good crowd here everyone in good sprint even tho it's cold

Have they allocated tickets to those in lthe line? Sounds like a lot more people queuing this year?

I just got my Golden ticket now about 40 ahead of me easily 300 here now

Wow some people going to be disappointed. I guess this is what happens when you have one apple store for 5 million people.

    What colours?
I've heard the black attracts fingerprints that are hard to remove. Which colour looks better in your opinion?

Both in white. Somebody in the que mentioned that the black attracts scuffs more but I didn't know wether to believe them or not?

    PS-Anthony, you on here?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,034 ✭✭✭mad muffin

Many reports on macrumours that the black one is scuffed right out of the box

I think Ill have to go with the white one.

I will pay 700 Euro for Iphone 5. Please pm me if you have spare ones. I can take a few by cash in Dublin

16gb I assume? Hardly worth the hassle to sell for that considering fuel and parking costs.

Hey I was wondering what was the queue like when you left? Also did anyone say what stock levels where like? Want to head up but don't want to waste a journey up there to find out the queue is still insanely long and there's none left.

    Thanks

Its really light. The camera has amazing clarity.

The screen is as stunning as the 4s, maybe a bit better with colour management.

    1080p videos are just wow!

What did the majority of people go for? I am torn between getting the 16GB or 32GB.

I'd say anyone planning on trying to convert an existing SIM into a nano SIM should read this - http://www.theregister.co.uk/2012/09/18/nano_sim/

The contacts on the card are re-arranged, so it doesn't seem to be a simple case of cutting the card down to size. At least try with an old card or throwaway prepay card if you want to give it a go.

The register has it slightly wrong, there are two types of "full size" sims out there: older types with large contacts and newer ones with the same contacts (3FF) as the micro sim. both these types can be cut to micro sim (the larger contacts get cut slightly but work fine) but only sims with 3FF contacts can be cut to nano sim.

    Hi all,

I'm thinking of heading up to Belfast next Saturday to pick up an iPhone.

Do ye reckon I'd be able to pick one up then? I presume the inital hype will have died down a bit by next weekend. Was originally going to order online but realistically looking at 3-4 weeks wait.

If you order at 8am on the Apple.ie site you will most likely have it within a week.
If determined to go to Belfast, make a call to them first to confirm they have stock.

    Cheers mate.

I'm actually around the Belfast area next Saturday anyway so I was thinking of collecting one from the store.

I presume you can cancel an order from the Apple store online, provided it hasn't shipped. (So I could pre-order on Friday morning and if I get one in the store on Saturday I could cancel the pre-order.). Or is that pure greed :)
