Is it important to rename the folder you download to your usb key to enigma2.

If the folder isn't named enigma2 the box won't recognise it.

I followed this guide http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2056882713 and installed the enigma 2 plugin which I found in the menu.

So when I try select enigma2 image it found nothing, possibly because I had folders, so I just put the image on the root.

I'm a lot further now anyway, time running out, last try and I got to go to bed.

Holy crap it says upgrading enigma2 file system success ! reboot, fingers crossed !

When you have an enigma2 folder in the root of the usb key you still need to show this folder to the e2upgrade plugin by navigating into the folder and pressing red for select, leaving the path as the root of the key is no good.

Well Done :-)

Best bit is you now have dual boot you can swap back to spark and all your settings will still be there you can try different images till you find one your happy with ( the one the wife gives you less grief over )

you will most likely have to rescan the saorview channels to your local transmitter and sort your channels the way you want using something like dreamboxedit
then when your happy with it
boot back to spark and use the upgrade plugin again now though to make a backup of you enigma image :-)

Anyone else noticed if their VFD ( display on the amiko 2 ) for RTE it says RT One ?
Can this be edited getting bored with it working so well on Hyperion 4 I need something to fix

It's the fada on the e, you'll need to edit the channel name

What am I going to do for the rest of the day now

I did a scan for the rte channels last night and it didn't pick up anything, I checked before I left this morning. Any ideas ?

What image are you using is it hdmu or hyperion
Im using hyperion 4 and i think I had to set country to italy and scan before it found anything

Take a note of your existing settings before you make too many changes
at the mo My tuner is setup as
Tuner A: Tuner3- T/T2(T/T2/C) (DVB-T) this is for the terrestrial tuner dont change the other 2 sat ones

But I had downloaded a polish image and wiped everything all boquets and channels and started from scratch
I seem to remember you have downloaded a backup of an image so you would think the tuner settings would have been ok
and already setup a rescan to your local transmitter should have pulled them in
may take a little fiddling around

If you need i could upload a backup of mine somewhere

Just did a fresh flash with FP's latest. Can someone upload me a decent bootlogo.mvi, something better than the Sky one, even the default Hyperion would be fine.

Thanks I'll tinker around with it first tonight when I get home.

All channels were set up on the image and showed in the epg.

Just having a problem with GiveCredit's H4 image and wondering if anyone can help,

I've loaded the image and gone to Autobouqets downloaded ROI HD, it downloads but does not change the to the channel list, seems to be a UK freeview
Tried searching through satellites and most channels are there but in no order

Any ideas?

You need to do a service search, takes a while to complete.

You need to change the frequency to that of your nearest transmitter station plus change the mux from 8 to 7 and scan, then scan again with the second frequency but don't perform a nit scan so it keeps the first frequencies channels.

Here you go ,this is the default Hyperion bootlogo

Btw ,Crossepg v0.8.1 is now on the PKT plugins server and seems to be working properly ,it has been patched for Hyperion

Have you found a fix for the new display that the works with H4 images?

Yes, the new driver is available in plugins, I don't have the new display in this box here though

Ok , I didn't realise. I don't have the new display, but with images with the fix, the display works better ( eg shows the correct HDD free space and time shift operation. ) its no big thing but will look for it in the plugins. Thanks

It's in plugins under other, if it's not there it's already installed, press red and see if it's listed as a plugin to remove. It's named spark7162_dvfd_support

Just to be 100% correct for all others who stop by this thread, the folder only has to be called "enigma2" and to be on the root if you are just updating via a USB stick and using the front panel

When using the Spark plugin route (which is far simpler and straight forward), you can have the files in any Directory or any Subdirectory

It needs to be in a directory named using a Linux naming convention, ie, use underscores or hyphen instead of spaces or else it will fail
